  • This study applied effective playful learning to increase the learning motivation of non-CS major students to help them achieve learning and to successfully operate online SW liberal arts classes for 560 students. As a result of analyzing the students' reflection journals, most of the students accepted the 'white radish' of dialect names as fun playful learning in the process of learning local variables and global variables. And they were surprised and amazed at discovering unexpected contents in our SW class. It was found that they experienced delight in learning, learning-flow, confidence, and intrinsic motivation. In the final term exam at the end of the semester, it was confirmed that the correct rate of 92% for questions related to local and global variables was higher than the average rate of other questions' correctness of 67.1%.

  • Changes in transmission and thermoluminescent characteristics were used in order to find out the optimum growth condition of CsI single crystal scintillators which were made relatively defect-free using Czochralski method. Impurity distribution in the crystals and the intensity and number of thermoluminescent glow peaks decreased as the process of crystallization was repeated. The direction of crystal growth turned out to be (110), the crystal structure of grown CsI was bee, and its lattice constant was found to be $4.568{\AA}$. The activation energy (trap depths) of CsI:3rd was 0.45 eV and its frequency factor was $5.18{\times}10^5\;sec^{-1}$.

  • The stability constants, K for the complexation of alkali metal cations(Li^+, Na^+, K^+, Rb^+, and Cs^+) with both 4,5: 13,14-dibenzo-6,9,12-triaza-bicyclo [15,3,1] heneicosa-1 (21),7,19-trioxa-2,16-dione (DBPDA) and 6,9,12-trioxa-3,15,21-triaza bicyclo [15,3,1] heneicosa-1 (21),17,19-triene-2,16-dione (PDA) in N,N-Dimethylformamide (DMF) were determined conductomatically at various temperatures. At all the experiment temperatures, the K value sequences of the alkali metal ions with DBPDA and PDA are Cs^+ > K^+ > Rb^+ > Li^+ > Na^+ and Cs^+ > K^+ > Rb^+ > Li^+ > Na+, respectively. The K values for DBPDA are larger those of PDA for alkali metal ions. The widely recounted "hole-size-selectivity" principle is not applicable to these complexation systems. From the K values obtained at different temperatures, {\delta}H and T{\delta}S for these complexation reactions were determined. The enthalpy change plays principal important role in the complex formation by DBPDA. However, in the case of PDA, the entropy change also contributes to its complex formation.

  • Computer Science Unplugged activities are activities to learn about computer science through learning tools other than programming programs. Existing unplugged activities focus on the procedural thinking process and focus on guiding the thinking process through play. There is a lack of research on unsupervised learning, which plays an important role in machine learning, which has recently attracted attention. In this study, we designed and conducted an unplugged activities for unsupervised learning that analyzes data using video media familiar to elementary school students. The results on the effectiveness of the class were analyzed using the bebras challenge. As a result of analyzing the scores of the pre-test and post-test, it was confirmed that the students' computational thinking and problem-solving ability improved.

  • Chitosan-polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) -bamboo charcoal/silica (CS-PVA-BC/SI) hybrid fillers with compatibilized styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) composites were fabricated by the interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) method. The structure and composition of the composite samples were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The viscoelastic behaviors of the rubber composites and their vulcanizates were explored using a rubber processing analyzer (RPA) in the rheometer, strain sweep and temperature sweep modes. The storage and loss moduli of SBR increased significantly with the incorporation of different hybrid fillers, which was attributed to the formation of an interphase between the hybrid fillers and rubber matrix, and the effective dispersion of the hybrid fillers. The mechanical properties (hardness, tensile strength, oxygen transmission rate, and swelling rate) of the composite samples were characterized in detail. From the results of the mechanical test, it was found that BC-CS-PVA0SBR had the best mechanical properties. Therefore, the BC-CS-PVA hybrid filler provided the best reinforcement effects for the SBR latex in this research.

  • This study proposed an SCA advice system. It is an ontology-based recommender that provides advice on appropriate computer curricula based on the behavior of high school students. The three computer curricula at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University include computer science (CS), information technology (IT), and web programming and security (WEB). This study aims to design the ontology framework for an SCA advice system. The system considers three core ontologies: student, computer-curriculum, and advice. After analyzing student behaviors, the behavior types of CS, IT, and WEB were determined to be SB-2, SB-1, and SB-5, respectively. All subjects in these three curricula were analyzed and grouped into seven groups. Their curricula were synthesized in terms of basic skills, basic knowledge, and characteristics. Finally, advice results can be obtained by consolidating the curriculum nature of the CS, IT, and WEB curricula.

  • The aim of this study was to determine the level of social support and quality of life in Turkish patients with gynecologic cancer using a cross-sectional survey design. A total of 108 patients admitted to the gynecologic oncology clinic at a university hospital from September 2011 to January 2012 were included. Data were collected using patient information forms, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and The Quality of Life-Cancer Survivors Instrument (QOL-CS). Average age was $54.5{\pm}10.8$ years and it was determined that 65.7% of patients had ovarian cancer and 19.4% had cervical cancer. The total QOL-CS mean score was $5.59{\pm}1.10$. Average score of total MSPSS was found to be $69.7{\pm}14.64$. Comparing socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of patients and average scores of QOL-CS and MSPSS, it was found that there was not a statisticaly significant corelation (p>0.05). Statistically significant relation was found between the average scores of QOL-CS and MSPSS. These results showed that quality of life was moderate and perceived social support was high in Turkish patients with gynecologic cancer.

  • Based on basic concept of detection limit, sample measurement time & background measurement time was considered, and MDA values according to background measurement time and sample measurement time in land samples(river soil, surface soil, drinking water, underground water, surface water, pine leaf, mugwort) analysis among environmental samples were compared. Seeing the water sample analysis result, it was shown that most of the samples were not detected, and most of the samples in land specimen analysis showed to be below the detection limit of "Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Announcement Je-2008-28-ho", but $^{137}Cs$ which is one of artificial radioactive nuclide was detected in some samples. It can be traced back to 1950s and 1960s when nuclear tests were carried out in atmosphere and catastrophic Chernobyl atomic power station accident that caused fallouts in the sky, and this is common level of detection that can be observed worldwide. Seeing the result that the $^{134}Cs$(which is a isotope of $^{137}Cs$, and it has relatively short half life) was not detected in all samples, it can be considered it doesn't affect to the operation of atomic power station.
