직경분포모형을 이용한 소나무림의 수관연료특성 예측: 산림시업지 임분과 비시업지 임분에서 (Estimation of Canopy Fuel Characteristics for Pinus densiflora Stands Using Diameter Distribution Models: Forest Managed Stands and Unmanaged Stands)

  • 본 연구는 산림시업이 소나무임분의 수관연료특성 변화에 미치는 영향을 예측하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 국가산림자원자료 중 시업지 1,085 stands, 비시업지 349 stands의 표본점 자료를 분석에 이용하였으며, Weibull 함수를 사용하여 시간에 따른 임분생장과 수관연료특성에 대해 예측하였다. 산림시업유무에 따른 수관연료특성을 비교해본 결과 비시업지 임분이 시업지 임분에 비해 평균 수관연료량은 약 14% 높게 나타났으며, 연소가능한 수관연료밀도 또한 약 16% 높게 나타났다. Weibull 함수를 사용하여 임령 40년, 50년, 60년의 생장 예측과 수관연료특성 변화를 비교해본 결과, 시업지 임분은 시간이 지남에 따라 중경목, 대경목에 최대임목본수의 증가가 예측된 반면, 비시업지 임분은 소경목, 중경목에서 최대임목본수가 예측되었다. 비시업지 임분이 시업지 임분에 비해 수관연료량, 수관연료밀도의 증가량이 높게 나타나 수관화로의 확산 가능성이 높은 것으로 사료되었다.

Analysis on Habitat Characteristics of the Korean Bats (Chiroptera) Using Geographic Information System (GIS)

  • We obtained a total of 36 GPS coordinates of the seven bat species of Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, Myotis ikonnikovi, M. nattereri, M. petax, Murina ussuriensis, Plecotus auritus, and Pipistrellus abramus. Characteristics of forests (forest type, age class, DBH class and crown density), terrain (aspect, slope and distance from mountain stream) and disturbance factors (distance from human residential areas and distance from cultivated areas) that bats have used as their habitats were revealed from the GIS analysis based on GPS coordinates of the 36 positions that bats were found. The bats-preferred forest type is broad-leaf forests (43%) with the trees of the 2th (31%) and 5th (31%) age class, the trees of sapling (36%) and large DBH class (31%), and sparse crown density (67%). Bats prefer the slop direction of the east (39%), the gradient below $15^{\circ}$ (61%), the ranges within 200 m from the mountain streams (92%), the ranges within 200 m near roads (89%), the ranges of 200-400 m from human residential areas (28%), and the ranges within 200 m from cultivated areas (36%).

The effects of half-section waste tire reinforcement on pipe deformation behavior

  • Every year, millions of waste tires are discarded across the world. Storage of waste tires presents many problems such as fire threats, epidemics, and non-economic factors. Furthermore, the disintegration process of waste tires is not economical or practical due to its time-consuming, and disposal requirements. In this study, half-section waste tires (HSWTs) were integrated with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes under different relative density conditions. The main aim of the study was to reduce the deformation values of embedded HDPE pipes in sandy soil and to evaluate the soil-pipe interaction. In comprehensive laboratory tests, half-section waste tires were integrated in two different ways: in the middle of the pipeline and along the pipeline. Accordingly, it was concluded that the effectiveness of waste tires reduces the deformation and bending moment values in the critical regions of pipes. As a result of reinforcement in the mid-point of the pipe defined as the most critical region, 52% and 36% less deformation was observed in the crown and springlines of the pipe, respectively. In addition, the bending moment values for the same critical section were determined to be 40% less in the crown and 28% less in the springline regions of the pipe.

GIS를 이용한 개발지역 주변 하늘다람쥐 잠재서식지 평가 (Evaluation of Potential Habitat of Pteromys volans around some Development Area Using GIS)

  • In this study, 12 environmental factors were used to evaluate the potential habitat of Pteromys volans living around some development areas. The analyzed value ranged from 0 to 20.1, and the area with a score of 10 or less was analyzed to have a low possibility of inhabiting Pteromys volans. To verify the analyzed results, a field survey was conducted on areas with 10 or more scores, and traces of habitat of Pteromys volans were confirmed in areas with 16 or more scores. All the areas with an evaluation score of 16 or higher showed high crown density and age class. However, despite the high crown density and age class, the evaluation score in some areas was low owing to the influence of other environmental factors. Therefore, in evaluating Pteromys volans habitats, it is necessary to apply various and complex criteria suitable for field conditions rather than applying uniform and fragmentary environmental factors only.

  • A series of centrifuge model tests were performed in order to investigate the behaviors of various tunnel linings. A 1/100-scaled aluminum and hydrostone horseshoe tunnel linings with a radius km, height km were buried in a depth of C/D=3 with dry Joomunjin standard sand, the relative density of which was 86%. Bending moments and thrusts along the tunnel circumference were measured by 12 strain gages. Earth pressures in soil and on lining were estimated by pressure transducers, ground surface settlements at center and edges by using LVDTs. Average Ko(coefficient of earth pressure at rest) was 0.39 for the model sand. The structural behaviors of lining depended on its damaged conditions. But, as a rule, on the crown, the tensile circumferential strain of lining occurred at the inner surface, and the compressive at the outer surface, then positive bending moment was created at the crown. The circumferential strain of the inner surface on the springline was tensile, and the outer compressive, so negative bending moment was measured at the springline. For hydrostone linings, cracks initiated at the inner surface on the crown, and the outer on the springline over average 40g.

  • Content of chlorine in s쇼rene-DVB copolymer was decreased as crosslink increased and it is because as crosslink increased $1\%,\;2\%,\;5\%\;and\;10\%$ DVB content increased and crosslink density increased and cavity was reduced. Functional group of resin almost disappeared as C-C1 peak around $700cm^{-1}$ was substituted with 1-aza-12-C-4 macrocyclic ligand and new peak of C-N around $1020cm^{-1}$ appeared, so it was confirmed that styrene-DVB copolymer and ligand were compounded. As crosslink increased in the analysis of element contents, it resulted in the reduction of nitrogen content and it is because as crosslink increased, it led to the reduction of chlorine content in the process of substitution reaction and it affected macrocyclic ligand substituted. Form of functional synthetic resin showed distortion of its particles as macrocyclic ligand was introduced to styrene-DVB copolymer and hydrogen of ligand caused substitution with chlorine element of styrene molecule.

Electronic Photodepletion Spectroscopy of Dibenzo-18-crown-6 with a Potassium Ion

  • Electronic photodepletion spectrum of dibenzo-18-crown-6 with a potassium ion ($K^+$-DB18C6) was obtained in the gas phase using electrospray ionization and quadrupole ion-trap reflectron time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The spectrum exhibited rather a broad absorption band at 36350 $cm^{-1}$, which was tentatively assigned as the origin of the S1 band. The photodepletion spectrum of $Cs^+$-DB18C6 was also obtained to elaborate the effects of metal cations on electronic and geometric structures of metal cation-DB18C6 complexes. We found that the S1 band of $Cs^+$-DB18C6 was red-shifted by 180 $cm^{-1}$ from that of $K^+$-DB18C6. With the results of quantum theoretical calculations using the density functional theory, we suggested that the red-shift arose mainly from weaker binding of $Cs^+$ to DB18C6 than that of K+, which resulted from a larger size of $Cs^+$ than that of the cavity in DB18C6.

폴리머 배터리 전극제조용 압연 고온롤 표면의 형상 및 유한요소 열변형 해석 (Shapes and Thermomechanical Analyses of a Hot Roll for Manufacturing Electrodes of Polymer Batteries)

  • The battery electrode of a mobile phone is made of layered polymer coated on aluminum foils and the hot rolling process is applied to increase the density per volume of an electrode for a high capacity battery. The flatness of batteries surfaces should be less than $2{\mu}m$. To satisfy the required flatness, the deformation of roll surface due to bending and heating of the roll should be minimized. Complicated hot oil paths of $100^{\circ}C$ inside the roll are required for heating the polymer layers. FEA was used to calculate thermal deformations and temperatures distributions of the roller. Based on FEA, a modified surface curvature called a crown roll was suggested and this gave the area of 30% improved flatness compared with a flat roll. The flat roll satisfied the flatness of $2{\mu}m$ in the length of 340 mm and the crown roll resulted in the longer length of 460 mm. Experiments to measure the temperature distribution and thermal strain were performed and compared with FEA. There were only 6% difference between two results.

임상도 특성에 따른 임목축적 및 탄소저장량 추정: 강원도를 중심으로 (Estimation of Growing Stock and Carbon Stock based on Components of Forest Type Map: The case of Kangwon Province)

  • 본 연구는 임상도 상의 특성인 영급, 경급 및 수관밀도를 이용하여 임목의 축적 및 탄소저장량을 추정하는 기법을 개발하고자 하였다. 먼저 국가산림조사(강원도 중심)를 바탕으로 한 임목축적 자료를 임상도 제작 당시의 축적으로 전환하였으며, 이 자료와 임상도 특성과의 관계를 수량화I방법을 통하여 임목축적 추정 모형을 개발하였다. 임상도 특성이 임목축적 추정에 기여하는 바를 알 수 있는 제곱 편상관계수의 크기를 비교해 본 결과, 영급이 가장 큰 기여를 하고 있었으며, 다음이 수관밀도, 임상, 경급의 순이었다. 임목축적 추정치 중 최소치는 활엽수림의 영급 II, 경급 '소', 수관밀도 '소'인 분류기준에서 ha당 $20.0m^3$이고, 최대치는 침엽수림의 영급 VI, 경급 '대', 수관밀도 '밀'인 분류기준에서 ha당 305.0이었다. 임상별로 침엽수림은 ha당 $30.5{\sim}305.0m^3$, 활엽수림은 ha당 $20.0{\sim}200.4m^3$, 혼효림은 ha당 $23.8{\sim}238.1m^3$로 추정되었다. 임상별 탄소저장량을 비교해 보면, 임상에 무관하게 경급 '대', 수관밀도 '밀'인 분류기준에서 임목축적에 따른 영급별 탄소저장량이 최대인 것으로 나타났다. 본 임상도 특성을 이용한 임목축적 추정은 산지 전용 또는 산지 재해에 의한 임목축적의 감소 및 탄소저장량 변화를 충분히 추정할 수 있을 것이며, 일선 산림관계자 또는 정책입안자의 산림경영 의사결정에도 유효한 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이라 판단된다.

생육공간을 공유하는 소나무와 졸참나무의 수분 이용 전략 비교 분석 (Analysis of Water Use Strategies of Two Co-occurring Mature Tree Species, Pinus densiflora and Quercus serrata)

  • 본 연구는 한국 산림생태계의 주요 우점종인 소나무와 졸참나무의 수분 이용 전략을 비교·분석하기 위해, 2019년 3월부터 12월까지 경기도 포천시에서 시행되었다. 소나무(n=6)와 졸참나무(n=3)의 수액속밀도와 환경 변수인 대기 온도, 상대습도, 강수량, 순복사량, 토양수분을 측정하여 계절변화 및 환경 변수에 따른 수액 이동 특성을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 수종의 최대 수액속밀도는 생장 기간(5-10월)에 졸참나무가 소나무보다 2배 가까이 높았으며, 졸참나무는 9월에 소나무는 8월에 가장 높았다. 수액속밀도에 영향을 주는 주요한 환경 변수들은 포화수증기압차와 순복사량이었으며, 대기 온도는 영향을 주지 못했다. 이력현상 분석에서 소나무는 건조해짐에 따라 기공을 닫고 졸참나무는 여전히 기공을 열어두는 전략을 사용하는 것을 발견하였다. 수관전도도 역시 최대 수액속밀도와 비슷한 경향을 보이며, 졸참나무의 수관전도도가 소나무의 수관전도도보다 약 2배 정도 더 높았다. 본 연구에서는 두 수종의 수분 이용 전략을 비교 분석하였고, 더 명확한 기작의 이해를 위해 생리적 특성뿐만 아니라 형태적 특성에 관한 연구도 병행되어야 할 것이다.
