  • A PID type fuzzy Controller is proposed based on a crisp type model in which the consequent parts of the fuzzy control rules are functional representation or real numbers. Using the conventional PID control theory, a new PID type fuzzy controller is developed, which retains the characteristics of the conventional PID controller. An advantage of this approach, is that it simplifies the complicated defuzzification algorithm which could be time consuming. Computer simulation results have shown that the proposed PID fuzzy controller has satisfactory tracking performance.

  • Fuzzy mathematical programming (FMP) can be treated an uncertainty condition using fuzzy concept. Further, it can be extended to the multiple objective (or goal) programming problem, naturally. But we feel that FMP have some shortcomings such as the fuzzy number in FMP is the one dimesional possibility set, so it can not be represented the relationship between them, and, in spite of FMP includes some (uncertainty) fuzzy paramenters, many alogrithms are only obtained a crisp solution. In this study, we propose a method of FMS. Our method use the scenario approach (or fuzzy random variables) to represent the relationship between fuzzy numbers, and can obtain the fuzzy solution.

  • Finding a shortest path on a graph is a fundamental problem in the area of graph theory. In an application where we cannot exactly determine the weights of edges fuzzy weights can be used instead of crisp weights. and Type-2 fuzzy weight will be more suitable of this uncertainty varies under some conditions. In this paper, shortest path problem in type-1 fuzzy weighted graphs is extended for type 2 fuzzy weighted graphes. A solution is also given based on possibility theory and extension principle.

  • Equivalence relations and mappings for crisp sets are very well known. This paper attempts an investigation of equivalence relations and mappings for fuzzy sets. We list some concepts and results related to fuzzy relations. We give some examples corresponding to the concept of fuzzy equality and fuzzy mapping introduced by Demirci [1]. In addition, we introduce the notion of preimage and quotient of fuzzy equivalence relations. Finally, we investigate relations between a fuzzy equivalence relation and a fuzzy mapping.

  • Obtaining the accurate final importance of each customer attribute (CA) is very important in the house of quality(HOQ), because it is deployed to the quality of the final product or service through the quality function deployment(QFD). The final importance is often calculated by the multiplication of the relative importance rate and the competitive priority rate. Traditionally, the sample mean is used for estimating two rates but the dispersion is ignored. This paper proposes a new approach that incorporates statistical significance to consider the dispersion of rates in determining the final importance of CA. The approach is illustrated with a design of car door for each case of crisp and fuzzy numbers.

  • The dynamic characteristics of turning processes are complex, non-linear and time-varying. Consequently, the conventional techniques based on crisp mathematical model may not guarantee surface roughness regulation. This paper presents a fuzzy controller which can regulate surface roughness in milling process using end-mill under varying cutting condition. The fuzzy control rules are established from operator experience and expert knowledge about the process dynamics. regulation which increases productivity and tool life is achieved by adjusting feed-rate according to the variation of cutting conditions. The performance of the proposed controller is evaluated by cutting experiments in the converted CNC milling machine. The result of experiments show that the proposed fuzzy controller has a good surface roughness regulation capability in spite of the variation of cutting conditions.

  • A well-designed computer network technology produces benefits on several fields within the organization, between the organizations(suborganizations) or among different organizations(suborganizations). Network technology streamlines business processes, decision process. Graphs are useful data structures capable of efficiently representing a variety of networks in the various fields. Metagraph is a like graph theoretic construct introduced recently by Basu and Blanning in which there is set to set mapping in place of node to node as in a conventional graph structure. Metagraph is thus a new type of data structure occupying its popularity among the computer scientists very fast. Every graph is special case of Metagraph. In this paper the authors introduce the notion of Meta-Networking as a new network technological representation, which is having all the capabilities of crisp network as well as few additional capabilities. It is expected that the notion of meta-networking will have huge applications in due course. This paper will play the role of introducing this new concept to the network technologists and scientists.

  • This paper presents a study on the safety assessment of human body for electromagnetic field at unbalanced power system. The 3-phase load flow algorithm uses Newton-Raphson method based on Taylor series expansion of power flow equations in rectangular coordinates. The use of such a method can result in a solution with good convergence characteristics. In the safety assessment of human body, the approach based on fuzzy linguistic variable is employed to overcome the shortcomings resulting from a crisp set concept. The suggested scheme is applied to a 24bus system to validate the usefulness. The results for an unbalanced power system are compared with the results for a balanced power system.
