Retinlyl Palmitate, the skin normalizerm is useful to promote greater skin elasticity, to diminish lipid peroxidation and skin roughness following UV exposure, and promote a youthfulgeneral skin appearance. In manufacturing creams, Retinyl Palmitate, which is a derivative of retinol, is used since reionol is easily oxidized by heat and light. However, only a small mount of retinol, is used since using a large amount of it may be harmful to its stability. In this study, thermal stability and UV stability of W/O-, W/S-, O/W-, and MLV-type creams containing 5% of retinyl palmitate and 10% of tocopheryl acetate are measured by Chroma Meters, and the content of RP is quantitatively analyzed by HPLC at 25 $^{\circ}C$ and 45 $^{\circ}C$. Also, how RP has been changed by heat, light, etc. is measured by HPLC, and toxicity of the changed substance is studied. Particle size of each type of the cream if measured, cellular renewal is measured by using DHP and Chroma Meters in order to study their efficacy and effect, moisture content is measured by using Corneometer and Tewameter, and how much wrinkles are improved is studied by using Image Analyzer. Development of MLV-type cream containing 5% of RP and 10% of TA, and satisfying conditions for better creams has been successful.

The objective of this paper is to develop the microorganism concentration simulation model for the health related effect analysis while farmers and water managers reuse the wastewater for agricultural irrigation. This model consists of the CE-QUAL-R1 model and the CREAMS-PADDY model. The CE-QUAL-R1 model is the 1-D numerical model to analyze the water quality of the reservoir and the CREAMS-PADDY model is modified from CREAMS model for considering the hydrologic cycles in paddy field. This model was applied to examine the application by the observed data from 2003 in Byoungjum study area. From this research, the average root mean square error (RMSE) for the simulated concentration during the calibration period was 0.51 MPN/100ml and correlation coefficient $(R^2)$ was 0.71. And the RMSE for the simulated concentration during the verification period was 0.46 MPN/100ml and $R^2$ was 0.73. This simulation results show that the coliform inflow concentrations by the wastewater irrigation wield great influence upon the temporal coliform concentrations in paddy field.
Commercial ice creams were subjected to chemical analysis and sensory evaluation by trained panel members. Chemical composition of commercial ice creams was not much different among the makers. The average contents of fat, total solid, total protein, milk solids-not-fat, milk lactose and crude ash were 8.53%, 34.18%, 3.43%, 11.02%, 6.17% and 0.84% in Carton, and 6.54%, 34.02%. 3.29%, 10.40%, 5.84% and 0.77% in Cone, respectively. Chemical properties of fat extracted from commercial ice creams were much different among the makers. The average values of acid, saponification, iodine and Reichert-Meissl value were 0.58, 221.88, 19.63 and 29.04 in Carton, and 0.65, 219.45, 18.64 and 28.82 in Cone. According to the results of triangle, ranking and scoring tests for commercial ice creams produced by four makers, significant difference on the sensory quality among four commercial ice cream samples was recognized at over 5 percent level. C and D samples had better sensory quality than A and B in both type of Carton and Cone.

There have been continuous attempts to quantify sensory attributes of cosmetic products by measuring relevant physical properties. The most representative method to evaluate stickiness is to measure axial force using texture analyzer. Stickiness is known to correlate with AUC which abbreviates area under curve in the obtained axial force curve as a function of time. Recently, Normandie University research group developed in vivo stickiness evaluation method considering the characteristics of skin along with established evaluation method[8]. Based on the study, we tried to optimize in vivo stickiness evaluation method especially for cosmetic creams. The experiment was carried out on 5 different facial creams products by changing the amount and the times of rolling of creams, and the shape and material of probes. Based on the results of the sensory evaluation, the most consistent conditions were established as the optimal evaluation method. As a result, applying 70 μL of cream and rubbing 10 times for 7 s inside the 3.4 cm circle were judged to be suitable. As for the probes, spherical metallic probe was more proper due to its reproducibility. We conducted the settled method on 10 subjects to check its validity. Although the absolute values of AUC differed depending on the individuals, the AUC values were all ranked the same. Finally, for the standardization of stickiness of AUC, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) was set as a reference material and we measured AUC of its aqueous solution by changing concentration. Then, the degree of stickiness recognition for 5 different creams was surveyed to check the correlation between AUC and stickiness.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the water quality change when wastewater applied to study paddy fields. CREAMS-PADDY (Chemical, Runoff and Erosion from Agricultural Management System) model was used to estimate the field-scale water quality. Simulated results were compared with observed data monitored from Byeongjeom study paddy fields which is located near the Suwon sewage treatment plant in Gyeonggi-do. Significance analysis was performed for the three different irrigation water quality level and five fertilizer reduction scenarios using LSD (Least Significant Difference) and DMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test). Total nitrogen was found to be significant for both irrigation water quality level and fertilizer reduction while total phosphorus was not. Annual drainage load for total nitrogen was reduced by 66~92 % compared to irrigation load when treated wastewater irrigated to study paddy fields from 2002 to 2007. Total phosphorus was reduced by 70~86 %.

Combination of two or more preservatives are commonly used in cosmetic creams to prevent alteration and degradation of the product formulation. but preservatives are one of the main causes of allergic contact dermatitis from the use of cosmetics. (omitted)

For preventing and curing the stretching mark, TECA Niosome/W/O system creams were formulated using Titrated Extract of Centella Asiatica (TECA) which is well known for its excellent wound healing effect. The lipid-water partition coefficients and the stabilities of TECA were evaluated and TECA Niosome/W/O system (TECA N/W/O) creams were prepared with different concentrations of cetyl alcohol and ceramide. TECA N/W/O cream was evaluated with respect to their rheological properties, permeation through excised skin of hairless mouse and in vitro and in vivo accumulation in the skin of hairless mouse. In addition, dermal thicknesses of hairless mouse skins were determined following the in vivo application of TECA N/W/O cream and control cream. TECA N/W/O creams showed pseudoplastic flow and hysteresis loop. The permeation of TECA from formulations through excised skin of hairless mouse did not observed. Amount of accumulated drug in the excised skin of hairless mouse was deσeased with an increase in the concentration of cetyl alcohol and showed no relationship with concentration of ceramide. Amount of accumulated drug in formulation A-3 was higher than in niosome suspension and other formulations. In in vivo experiment, amount of accumulated drug in formulation A-2 and A-3 was much higher than that of niosome suspension. Being treated with the N/W/O cream for 8 weeks, the dermal thickness of hairless mouse skin was increased 3.2 times than that of 16 weeks-control group.

In this work, we have prepared the nanocomposite by the reaction of mica and zinc oxide, and investigated the application of nanocomposite to UV protecting creams. Mica treated with 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APTMS) reacted with 1,4-phenylenediisothiocyanate (PDC) to give -N=C=S functionalized surface, which was further reacted with zinc oxides coated with APTMS to give mica-zinc oxide nanocomposites. The composites were characterized by EA, EDS, TGA, SEM, zeta potential measurement, powder XRD, and DRS UV/Vis analyses. Finally, we measured transmittances of ultraviolet protection creams manufactured by using mica composite covered with zinc oxides in the range of 280~400 nm. The nanocomposites developed in this work might be applicable as inorganic hybrid materials for UV protecting creams.
