바늘엉겅퀴의 노르이소프레노이드 성분 (Norisoprenoids from Cirsium rhinoceros)

  • Three norisoprenoids (2, 4 and 5) were isolated from the aerial parts of Cirsium rhinoceros (Compositae) together with three flavonoids, pectolinarigenin (1), apigenin (3) and cirsimaritin (6). The structures of norisoprenoids were identified as dehydrovomifoliol (2), (+)-loliolide (4) and (-)-epiloliolide (5) on the basis of physico-chemical and spectral evidences. These norisoprenoids were first repoted from Cirsium species.

  • Three sesquiterpene lactones (1, 2 and 5) and two lipid glycerols (3 and 4) were isolated from MeOH extract of Ainsliaea acerifolia (Compositae). Based on spectral data, their chemical structures were determined as estafiatone (1), zaluzanin C (2), 3-O-(9Z, 12Z, 15Z-octadecatrienoyl) glycerol (3), 3-O-(9Z, 12Z-octadecadienoyl) glycerol (4) and glucozaluzanin C (5). Compounds 1, 3 and 4 were previously not reported from Ainsliaea species.

한국 시판 화분식품에 관한 연구 (Studies on Pollen Foods sold in Korea)

  • 현재 한국에서 시판되고 있는 화분식품 16종을 검사하여 본 바, 15 종에서 원형 그대로의 화분임을 확인하였다. 따라서 이들 화분의 기원식물을 감별하였는 바, 국화과, 백합과, 사초과, 층층나무과, 소나무과, 자작나무과, 쥐손이풀과, 콩과, 참나무과, 벼과의 식물 화분이었다. 이들 화분은 그 표피를 그대로 지니고 있으므로 식이성 allergen으로 작용할 우려가 있다. 16종의 화분식품중 한가지 만이 화분 표피를 함유하고 있지 않았다.

출류(朮類)에 관한 연구( I ) : 한국(韓國)과 일본(日本)의 창출(蒼朮)과 백출(白朮) 의 생약학적(生藥學的) 연구 (Study on Atractylodes Rhizomes (I) : Pharmacognosy and Chemical Identification of Atractylodes Species)

  • Traditional Chinese herbal drugs, namely, Atractylodes Rhizome and Atractylodes Rhizome White were identified by means of chemical analysis such as TLC and GC/MS. In Korea, the old-grown and the newly-grown rhizomes of Atractylodes japonica Koidzumi (Compositae) are used as the Atractylodes Rhizome and the Atractylodes Rhizome White, respectively. Both rhizomes contain the atractylon asa major spot on TLC. The content of atractylon in a newly-grown rhizome of A. japonica (Atractylodes Rhizome White called in Korea) appears to contain much larger quantity in comparison with that of an old-growon one (Atractylodes Rhizome). The TLC spot pattern analysis showed that rhizomes of A. japonica and A. macrocephala contain the atractylon as a major indicator spot, but no atractylodin (extreamly small amount). However, rhizomes of A. lancea De Candolle and A. koreana Kitamura contain the atractylodin as a major indicator spot.

In vitro Antiinflammatory Activity of the Essential oil Extracted from Chrysanthemum sibiricum in Murine Macrophage RAW 264.7 Cells

  • This research was undertaken to find the in vitro inflammatory action of the essenetial oil (CS-oil) extracted from Chrysanthemum sibiricum (Compositae) herbs. We investigated the effects of the CS-oil not only on the formation NO, $PGE_2$, and $TNF-{\alpha}$ but also on inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced murine macrophage RAW 264.7 cells. The data obtained were consistent with the modulation of iNOS enzyme expression. A similar fashion was also observed when LPS-induced $PGE_2$ release and COX-2 expression were tested. The significant inhibitory effects were shown in concentration-dependent manners. In addition, CS-oil also mildly but significantly reduced the formation of TNF-a. These findings support the application of CS-oil as an antiinflammatory essential oil.

Antinociceptive and Antiinflammatory Effect of a Diterpene Isolated from the Aerial Part of Siegesbeckia pubescens

  • The aerial part of Siegesbeckia pubescens (Compositae) has been used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and hypertension in the Oriental medicine. This crude drug has been used without process (SP-0) or with three times-process of steaming and drying (SP-3) or the nine times of that process (SP-9). To search for the antinociceptive anti-inflammatory components from this crude drug, activity-directed fractionation was performed on this crude drug. Since the $CHCl_3$ extract was shown to have a more potent effect than other extracts, it was subjected to silica gel & ODS column chromatography to yield two diterpene compounds (1). Compound 1 was structurally identified as ent-16 (H, 17-hydroxykauran-19-oic acid, which were tentatively named siegeskaurolic acid A. A main diterpene, siegeskaurolic acid A was tested for the antiiflammatory antinociceptive effects using both hot plate- and writhing anti-nociceptive assays and carrageenan-induced anti-inflammatory assays in mice and rats. Pretreatment with siegeskaurolic acid A (20 and 30mg/kg) significantly reduced the stretching episodes, action time of mice and carrageenan-induced edema. These results support that siegeskaurolic acid is a main diterpene responsible for antinociceptive and antiiflammatory action of S. pubescens. In addition, the assays on SP-0, SP-3 and SP-9 produced the experimental results that SP-9 had more significant effects than other two crude drugs. These results suggest that the processing on the original plant may lead to the higher pharmacological effect.

식물 분류단위 특이적인 칼슘대사의 생리생태학적 특성 (Ecophysiological characteristcs of Plant Taxon-Specific Calcium Metabolism)

  • In order to compare species-specific calcium metabolism, we collected 127 species belonging to 40 different families grown on various habitats including saline, limestone, wetland during the 1996 vegetation period, and analyzed their inorganic ion contents. Plants investigated were divided into 5 groups according to their physiological properties: 1) Chenopodiaceae, Aizoaceae, Caryophyllaceae, Portulacaceae and Phytolaccaceae of Centrospermales and Polygonaceae (Polygonales had a little water-soluble $Ca^{2+}$ but contained high contents of insoluble $Ca^{2+}$ particularly as Ca-oxalate (Chenopodiaceae type), 2) Some plant species such as Rosaceae produced oxalate in amounts insufficient to precipitate all incoming $Ca^{2+}$ and thus contained a surplus of dissolved $Ca^{2+}$ (Rosaceae type), 3) The contents of water-soluble $Ca^{2+}$ in plant species of Crassulaceae. Plantaginaceae, Asclepiadaceae, and Zygophyllaceae were equal to or greater than those of K ($K/Ca{\leq}1$; Crassulaceae type), and 4) K/Ca ratios of Compositae were significantly fluctuated depending on species and soil $Ca^{2+}$ level of their habitats (Compositae type). 5) Certain monocots (Gramineae, Cyperaceae, Juncaceae), in contrast to the dicotyledonous plant families mentioned above, showed a very distinct type of calcium metabolism, that is, the K/Ca ratios of 8~10 were maintained indifferently in the species and their habitat types (Graminae type). These results plants within the same taxon have similar physiological aspects as weel as morphological attributes. To understand calcium metabolism of certain plant species, therefore, it is desirable to approach on the basis of physiological concept (calciotroph or calciophobe) rather than the ecological one (calcicole or calcifuge).

Costunolide와 Dehydrocostuslactone을 이용한 목향의 함량분석 (Quantitative Analysis of Aucklandia Lappa Using Costunolide and Dehydrocostuslactone)

  • Aucklandia lappa Decne (Compositae) has been used for treatment of abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, chronic inflammation, and antibacterial effect. The quality of these herbs has been affected by many factors such as collection time, place, temperature, cultivation environment and manufacturing process. We used costunolide and dehydrocostuslactone as marker compounds for quality evaluation of rhizome of Aucklandia lappa. 66 samples of Aucklandia lappa were collected from those habitats in Korea and China. The developed HPLC-DAD method was applied to investigate for quality control of Aucklandia lappa samples. The average contents of the costunolide and dehydrocostuslactone were 2.3895% and 0.9258%, respectively. The principal component analysis (PCA) exhibited that classification of Aucklandia lappa according to origin not separated. Results of this study may be satisfactory applied to determination of content criteria of Aucklandia lappa.

국화류 추출물의 항산화 및 멜라닌 생성 억제 활성 (Anti-oxidant Property and Tyrosinase Inhibition Activity of Various Extracts from plants in Compositae plants)

  • 우리나라 전역에서 자생하는 국화류 6종을 대상으로 MeOH 80% 추출물 및 추출물로부터 헥산, 클로로포름, 에틸아세테이트, 부탄올 및 물분획을 이용한 항미생물, 항산화 및 tyrosinase 저해활성효과를 보고자 연구를 진행하였다. 항균활성의 경우 MeOH 80% 추출물에서는 우방자와 용매분획 중에서는 포공영의 헥산, 에틸아세테이트 분획, 우방자의 클로로포름 분획을 중심으로 비극성용매에서 항균력을 나타내었다. 항산화 활성의 경우 MeOH 80% 추출물에서는 인진호가 93%로 가장 높은 활성을 나타내었으며, 용매분획에서는 국화류 6종 모두 에틸아세테이트, 부탄올 분획에서 약 90%에 가까운 항산화효과를 나타내었으며, 이들의 용매는 항균활성을 나타내었던 용매보다는 극성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. Tyrosinase 저해활성의 경우 MeOH 80% 추출물에서는 우방자만이 40%로 높은 활성을 보였으며, 용매별 분획에서는 감국의 부탄올 분획에서 48%, 인진 호의 에틸아세테이트, 물분획에서 각각 39%와 37%로, 대조군인 알부틴보다 높은 활성을 나타내었다. 이들 용매 역시 항균활성보다는 극성이 높은 용매에서 활성을 나타내었다. 국화류 6종의 MeOH 80% 추출물 중 우방자만이 항균, 항산화, tyrosinase 저해활성에 고른 활성을 나타내었으며, 용매분획 중에서는 3가지에 고른 활성을 나타내는 공통적 용매분획은 없었다.

파의 조추출물질(組抽出物質)이 국화과(菊花科) 식물(植物)의 종자발아(種子發芽) 및 유묘생육(幼苗生育)에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Effect of Crude Extracts of Allium fistuiosum on the Seed Germination and Seedling Growth in Compositae)

  • 파의 조추출물질(組抽出物質)이 국화과(菊花科) 식물(植物)의 종자발아(種子發芽) 및 유묘생육(幼苗生育)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 조사(調査)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 파의 모든 부위의 조추출물(組抽出物)은 국화과(菊花科) 식물(植物)의 종자발아(種子發芽) 및 유묘생육(幼苗生育)을 억제(抑制) 혹은 고사(枯死) 시켰는데 그 중 엽신부(葉身部) 조추출물(組抽出物)이 타(他) 부위(部位)에 비(比)해 억제효과(抑制效果)가 현저하게 컸다. 파의 80% 메칠알콜 및 증류수(蒸溜水) 조추출물(組抽出物)은 국화과(菊花科) 식물(植物)의 종자발아(種子發芽)를 억제(抑制)하였는데 특히, 증류수(蒸溜水) 조추출물(組抽出物)이 80% 메칠알콜 조추출물(組抽出物)보다 억제효과(抑制效果)가 컸다. 파 수확후(收穫後) 토괴내(土壞內)에 있는 잔류근부(殘留根部)는 후작(後作)으로 한 국화과(菊花科) 식물(植物)의 유묘생육(幼苗生育)을 억제(抑制)하였다. 국화과(菊花科) 식물(植物)의 종자발아(種子發芽)를 억제(抑制)하는 파의 조추출물질(組抽出物質)은 광(光)과 열(熱)에 안정(安定)하고 그 중에는 휘발성물질(揮發性物質)도 포함(包含)되어 있음이 밝혀졌다.
