A Note on the Defuzzification Method and Distance Metric of Fuzzy Color Model (퍼지 컬러 모델의 비퍼지화 방법과 거리 척도의 제안)

  • Most people have to deal with color and color problems occasionally. There are many strange things about color and color vision that most people do not notice. Even though color seems intuitive and simple it is not. In this paper, we modeled the color using fuzzy set theory. The proposed fuzzy color model is based on the Munsell color space. We defined several fuzzy color terminologies, and proposed a extended center of gravity defuzzification mthod for fuzzy color set. Finally, three distance measures between fuzzy colors were also formulated.

Measuring of the Perceptibility and Acceptability in Various Color Quality Measures

  • Perceptibility and acceptability are the most often used threshold units in the field of color science. The former refers to a just perceptible difference and the latter evokes a tolerable color difference. Such thresholds can be very significant to color quality control processes in the printing industry and should be defined in quality measure units. Optical density (OD) and color difference models are usually utilized as color quality measures and have been provided in a considerable number of commercial measuring devices such as spectrophotometers. However, their merits and traits are far less understood in the literature. The present study intends to evaluate performance of those color quality measures including the OD and widely known color difference models, e.g. ${\Delta}E{^*}_{ab}$, ${\Delta}E_{CMC(l:c)}$ and ${\Delta}E{^*}_{00}$. A set of psychophysical assessments were carried out in order to accumulate the perceptibility and acceptability thresholds data, and their central trend was compared with the color quality measure estimates.

  • Eight types of LED packages were manufactured according to the type and composition ratio of phosphors by using commercially available white LED phosphors. CRI (Ra), a conventional color quality evaluation method was evaluated by using manufactured white LED; the Rf, Rg, color vector graphic, and color distortion graphic were evaluated with a new method, IES TM-30-15. The results of the evaluation confirmed that the new method compensated for the disadvantages of CRI, which was found to be inadequate when the color was saturated. The added evaluation index identified the chroma variation and color change. Furthermore, the study showed that the changes of Rf and Rg are small when controlling phosphors based on CRI, questioningthe necessity of identifyingchroma variation and color change.

  • Color(and appearance)is one of the most important visual attributes in food. The favorite color of food is depend on the nation and its culture. Unfortunately the word on color ash superseded appearance as the description of the total visual perception of food. The optical properties are color, gloss, translucency, the uniformity of these attributes over the surface of the product, and the appearance boundary condition visual flavor.   • The optical behavior of coloring matter extracted from onion's coats, the depression effects of destruction, yellowing and W transmittance of silk treated with color solution of onion's coats color difference of silk fabrics dyed with acid dyes and drycleaning fastness of silk treated with color solution has been investigated. The results are as follows : 1) The coloring matter extracted from onion's coats by alkali-acid method appeared properties of aglycon type. 2) &{\lambda}_{max}&of color solution extracted by distilled water was found at 280 and 327nm. 3) The decrease of tensile strength and the elongation of the silk treated with color solution were depressed but those of untreated silk were increased by irradiation of UV light. 4) The yellowness index of silk treated with color solution showed a little change by irradiation. 5) The UV transmittance of silk treated with color solution was decreased as increasing concentration of color solution. 6) The color difference after dyeing with several acid dyes on treated and untreated silk fabrics showed remarkable changes. 7) Drycleaning fastness of silk treated by color solution was excellent.

  • CCD Camera System으로 capture 한 image를 표준 display장치로 재현할 때 capture 할 당시의 원 피사체의 모습을 그대로 재현하여야만 한다. 그러나 일반 consumer 용 camera system의 CCD channel spectral sensitivity 특성이 인간의 spectral sensitivity(1(λ), m(λ), 5(λ)) 특성과 일치하지 않고, linear transform의 관계도 성립하지 않음으로써 capturing시 근본적인 color error가 발생하게 된다. 기존의 CCD Camera System 에서는 CCD sensor 의 color 정보와 display 장치의 color 정보와의 단순한 산술적인 관계로 color를 재구성하는 방법을 사용하고 있어 원 피사체의 color 를 그대로 재현할 수가 없다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 알고리즘은 CCD 의 channel spectral sensitivity특성 과 CIE-color matching function과의 관계를 고려하여 color를 재구성함으로써 color error를 줄이도록 하였다 제시된 알고리즘의 color error를 검증하기 위하여 물체의 고유반사율을 알고 있는 AGFA IT8.7-2 test chart(283 spectra), Dupont Paint Chips(120 spectra), Mcbeth Color Checker(64 spectra) 및 Natural Objects(170 spectra) 등 다양한 objects spectra(637 spectra) [1][2]를 이용하여 기존 방법의 알고리즘과 비교하여 보았다.

  • Paintings can evoke emotions in viewers. In this paper, we propose a method for extracting emotion from paintings by using the colors that comprise the paintings. For this, we generate color spectrum from input painting and compare the color spectrum and color combination for finding most similarity color combination. The found color combinations are mapped with emotional keywords. Thus, we extract emotional keyword as the emotion evoked by the painting. Also, we vary the form of algorithms for matching color spectrum and color combinations and extract and compare results by using each algorithm.

  • The propose of this study investigated the reproduction of color image displayed on a CRT monitor, for a range of different values of monitor gamma. We have used the GOG(gain-offset-gamma) model of the behavior of the CRT. Color difference have been computed in a color space, based on the CIELAB color appearance model. The 133 patch defined linearly color sample and 24 patch defined printing color target were used, and were subjected to the influence of nine different gamma value. The result show that neutral color is increasing the decrease range of luminance black color than white color. These results are of concern in the context of the "correct" display of color reproduction.

  • This thesis on the basis of the "Sasang"(the four classification by the physical constitution) that becomes the focus of the public interest in Korea intends to grasp a color image and serve basic materials for the color usage in the interior design planning. It tries to identify the relationship between physical constitution and color. The color planning for experiment plans to be related to Korean traditional color. Analysis result on color and color image to patterns of interior color shows that the physical constitution in measure difference is bigger than sex among the many image evaluation items. Therefore, the interior color preference of Korean is bright hue and tint such as warm and cool color.

  • This paper proposes a new color segmentation method of vehicle license plates in the RGB color space. Firstly, the proposed method shifts the histogram of an input image rightwards and then stretches the image of the histogram slide. Secondly, the method separates each of the three RGB color components and performs the adaptive threshold processing with the three components, respectively. Finally, it combines the three components under the condition of making up a segment color and removes noises with the morphological processing. The proposed method is implemented using C language in an embedded Linux system for a high-speed real-time image processing. Experiments were conducted by using real vehicle images. The results show that the proposed algorithm is successful for most vehicle images. However, the method fails in some vehicles when the body and the license plate have the same color.
