CO2 transfer velocity is one of the key parameters for CO2 flux estimation at air - sea interface. However, current studies show that significant inconsistency still exists in its estimation when using different models and remotely sensed data sets, which acts as one of the main uncertainties involved in the computation of CO2 exchange coefficient between air - sea interface. In this study, wind data collected from SSM/I and scatterometer onboard ERS-1, in conjunction with operational NOAA/AVHRR, are applied to different models for calculating CO2 exchange coefficient in the world ocean. Their interrelationship and discrepancies inherent with different models and satellite data are analyzed. Finally, the seasonal and inter-annual variation of CO2 exchanges coefficient for different ocean basins are presented and discussed.
Co-channel interference between macro-femtocell networks is an unresolved problem, due to the frequency reuse phenomenon. To mitigate such interference, a secondary femtocell must acquire channel-state knowledge about a co-channel macrocell user and accordingly condition the maximum transmit power of femtocell user. This paper proposes a pilot-based spectrum sensing (PSS) algorithm for overlaid femtocell networks to sense the presence of a macrocell user over a channel of interest. The PSS algorithm senses the pilot tones in the received signal through the power level and the correlation metric comparisons between the received signal and the local reference pilots. On ensuring the existence of a co-channel macrocell user, the maximum transmit power of the corresponding femtocell user is optimized so as to avoid interference. Time and frequency offsets are carefully handled in our proposal. Simulation results show that the PSS algorithm outperforms existing sensing techniques, even at poor received signal quality. It requires less sensing time and provides better detection probability over existing techniques.

Nanofibers(NFs), because of their high surface area and nanosized grains, have appropriate morphologies for use in chemiresistive-type sensors for gas detection applications. In this study, a highly sensitive and selective CO gas sensing material based on Au-decorated $SnO_2$ NFs was fabricated by electrospinning. $SnO_2$ NFs were synthesized by electrospinning and subsequently decorated with various amounts of Au nanoparticles(NPs) by sputtering; this was followed by thermal annealing. Different characterizations showed the successful formation of Au-decorated $SnO_2$ NFs. Gas sensing tests were performed on the fabricated sensors, which showed bell-shaped sensing behavior with respect to the amount of Au decoration. The best CO sensing performance, with a response of ~20 for 10 ppm CO, was obtained at an optimized amount of Au (2.6 at.%). The interplay between Au and $SnO_2$ in terms of the electronic and chemical sensitization by Au NPs is responsible for the great improvement in the CO sensing capability of pure $SnO_2$ NFs, suggesting that Au-decorated $SnO_2$ NFs can be a promising material for fabricating highly sensitive and selective chemiresistive-type CO gas sensors.

This paper proposed a novel compressed sensing (CS) technique for an efficient video transmission of multi-copter. The proposed scheme is focused on reduction of the amount of data based on CS technology. First, we describe basic principle of Spectrum sensing. And then we compare AMP(Approximate Message Passing) with CoSaMP(Compressive Sampling Matched Pursuit) through mathematical analysis and simulation results. They are evaluated in terms of calculation time and complexity, then the promising algorithm is suggestd for multicopter operation. The result of experiment in this paper shows that AMP algorithm is more efficient than CoSaMP algorithm when it comes to calculation time and image error probability.
$CO_2$ uptake of vegetation is one of the important variables in order to estimate photosynthetic activity, plant growth and carbon budget estimations. The objective of this research was to develop a new estimation method of $CO_2$ uptake of vegetation based on airborne hyperspectral remote sensing measurements in combination with a photosynthetic rate curve model. In this study, a compact airborne spectrographic imager (CASI) was used to obtain image over a field that had been set up to study the $CO_2$ uptake of corn on August 7, 2002. Also, a field survey was conducted concurrently with the CASI overpass. As a field survey, chlorophyll a content, photosynthetic rate curve, Leaf area, dry biomass and light condition were measured. The developed estimation method for $CO_2$ uptake consists of three major parts: a linear mixture model, an enhanced big leaf model and a photosynthetic rate curve model. The Accuracy of this scheme indicates that $CO_2$ uptake of vegetation could be estimated by using airborne hyperspectral remote sensing data in combination with a physiological model.
The purpose of this study is to test the adaptability of the CO sensor as a fire detector by analyzing its sensing characteristics on fire. In order to test the applicability, we designed and made a fire testing ground whose size is similar to that regulated by UL 268, carried out real fire tests suggested by UL 268, and conducted a comparison analysis on the sensing characteristics between the CO sensor and a photoelectric smoke detector by different types of fire source. The experiment result to the sensing characteristics of the CO sensor is about twice to three times faster than that of the photoelectric smoke detector, proceeding with incomplete combustion such as paper and wood fire source in the initial fire. Especially in case of wood smoldering fire, sensing characteristics of the CO sensor is very excellent.

LTCC (Low Temperature Cofired Ceramic) technology is one of technologies which can realize SIP (System-In-a-Package). In this paper realization of gas sensor using LTCC technology was described. In the conventional gas sensor structure, wire bonding method is generally used as an interconnection method whereas in the LTCC sensor structure, via was used for the interconnection. As sensing materials, $SnO_2$ was adopted. The effect of frit glass portion on the adhesion of the sensing material to the LTCC substrate and the electrical conductivity of the sensing material were analyzed. AgPd, PdO, Pt was added to the sensing material as an additive for improving the gas sensitivity and electrical conductivity and the effect of the amount of additives in the sensing material on the electrical conductivity was investigated. The effect of the amount of frit glass in the termination on the sensor performance, especially mechanical integrity, was considered and the crack initiation and propagation in the boundary between the sensing material and the termination was studied.

A high temperature tolerant microelectronic-based carbon monioxde(CO) gas sensor has been developed. The gas sensing performance has been studied over a wide temperature range$(100-300^\circ{C)}$. The gas sensitivity of the sensor is high, its initial sensing behavior is very fast, and the sensor is reproducible. Pt-SiC and $Pt-SnO_2-SiC$ diodes are fabricated using standard semiconductor processes and their CO gas-sensing behaviors are analyzed as a function of CO gas concentration and temperature by I-V and $\Delta{I-t}$ methods under steady-state and transient conditions. The sensitivity of the device with $Pt-SnO_2$ catalytic gate is higher than that of the Pt gate. The experimental results indicate that $SnO_2$ layer improves the catalytic reaction of the Pt layer.
Mg-doped ZnO one-dimensional (1D) nanostrutures were synthesized by using a thermal evaporation technique. The morphology, crystal structure, and sensing properties of the Mg-doped ZnO nanostructures functionalized with Pt to CO gas at $100^{\circ}C$ were examined. The diameters of the 1D nanostructures ranged from 80 to 120 nm and that the lengths were up to a few tens of micrometers. The gas sensors fabricated from multiple networked Mg-doped ZnO nanowires functionalized with Pt showed enhanced electrical response to CO gas. The responses of the nanowires were improved by approximately 70, 69, 111, and 81 times at CO concentrations of 10, 25, 50, and 100 ppm, respectively. Both the response and recovery times of the nanowire sensor for CO gas sensing were not nearly changed by Pt functionalization. It also appeared that the Mg doping concentration did not influence the sensing properties of ZnO nanowires as strongly as Pt-functionalization. In addition, the mechanism for the enhancement in the CO gas sensing properties of Mg-doped ZnO nanowires by Pt functionalization is discussed.
