Most accidents caused by road icing in winter lead to major accidents. Because it is difficult for the driver to detect the road icing in advance. In this work, we study how to accurately detect road traffic emerging risk using AutoML and CNN's ensemble model that use both structured and unstructured data. We train CNN-based road traffic emerging risk classification model using images that are unstructured data and AutoML-based road traffic emerging risk classification model using weather data that is structured data, respectively. After that the ensemble model is designed to complement the CNN-based classification model by inputting probability values derived from of each models. Through this, improves road traffic emerging risk classification performance and alerts drivers more accurately and quickly to enable safe driving.

As the diagnosis using encephalography(EEG) has been expanded, various studies have been actively performed for classifying EEG automatically. This paper proposes a CNN model that can effectively classify EEG signals acquired from healthy persons and patients with epilepsy. We segment the EEG signals into sub-signals with smaller dimension to augment the EEG data that is necessary to train the CNN model. Then the sub-signals are segmented again with overlap and they are used for training the CNN model. We also propose ensemble strategy in order to improve the classification accuracy. Experimental result using public Bonn dataset shows that the CNN can detect the epileptic seizure with the accuracy above 99.0%. It also shows that the ensemble method improves the accuracy of 3-class and 5-class EEG classification.

In this paper, we implemented a Korean text generation and classification model based on a deep learning algorithm that can be applied to various industries. It consists of two implemented GAN-based Korean handwriting generation models and CNN-based Korean handwriting classification models. The GAN model consists of a generator model for generating fake Korean handwriting data and a discriminator model for discriminating fake handwritten data. In the case of the CNN model, the model was trained using the 'PHD08' dataset, and the learning result was 92.45. It was confirmed that Korean handwriting was classified with % accuracy. As a result of evaluating the performance of the classification model by integrating the Korean cursive data generated through the implemented GAN model and the training dataset of the existing CNN model, it was confirmed that the classification performance was 96.86%, which was superior to the existing classification performance.
Optical Camera Communication (OCC), known as the next-generation wireless communication technology, is currently under extensive research. The performance of OCC technology is affected by the communication environment, and various strategies are being studied to improve it. Among them, the most prominent method is applying convolutional neural networks (CNN) to the receiver of OCC using deep learning technology. However, in most studies, CNN is simply used to detect the transmitter. In this paper, we experiment with applying the convolutional neural network not only for transmitter detection but also for the Rx demodulation system. We hypothesize that, since the data images of the OCC system are relatively simple to classify compared to other image datasets, high accuracy results will appear in most CNN models. To prove this hypothesis, we designed and implemented an OCC system to collect data and applied it to 12 different CNN models for experimentation. The experimental results showed that not only high-performance CNN models with many parameters but also lightweight CNN models achieved an accuracy of over 99%. Through this, we confirmed the feasibility of applying the OCC system in real-time on mobile devices such as smartphones.

Tomato crops are highly affected by tomato diseases, and if not prevented, a disease can cause severe losses for the agricultural economy. Therefore, there is a need for a system that quickly and accurately diagnoses various tomato diseases. In this paper, we propose a system that classifies nine diseases as well as healthy tomato plants by applying various pretrained deep learning-based CNN models trained on an ImageNet dataset. The tomato leaf image dataset obtained from PlantVillage is provided as input to ResNet, Xception, and DenseNet, which have deep learning-based CNN architectures. The proposed models were constructed by adding a top-level classifier to the basic CNN model, and they were trained by applying a 5-fold cross-validation strategy. All three of the proposed models were trained in two stages: transfer learning (which freezes the layers of the basic CNN model and then trains only the top-level classifiers), and fine-tuned learning (which sets the learning rate to a very small number and trains after unfreezing basic CNN layers). SGD, RMSprop, and Adam were applied as optimization algorithms. The experimental results show that the DenseNet CNN model to which the RMSprop algorithm was applied output the best results, with 98.63% accuracy.

최근 MPEG 에서는 인공신경망 모델을 다양한 딥러닝 프레임워크에서 상호운용 가능한 포맷으로 압축 표현할 수 있는 NNR(Compression of Neural Network for Multimedia Content Description and Analysis)

Research has been ongoing to detect ships from offshore photographs for a variety of reasons, including maritime security, identifying international trends, and social scientific research. Due to the development of artificial intelligence, R-CNN models for object detection in photographs and images have emerged, and the performance of object detection has risen dramatically. Ship detection in offshore photographs using the R-CNN model has also begun to apply to satellite photography. However, satellite images project large areas, so various objects such as vehicles, landforms, and buildings are sometimes recognized as ships. In this paper, we propose a novel methodology to improve the performance of ship detection in satellite photographs using R-CNN series models. We separate land and sea via marker-based watershed algorithm and perform morphology operations to specify RoI one more time, then detect vessels using R-CNN family models on specific RoI to reduce typology. Using this method, we could reduce the misdetection rate by 80% compared to using only the Fast R-CNN.

This study proposes a deep learning-based flat foot classification methodology using transfer learning. We used a transfer learning with VGG16 pre-trained model and a data augmentation technique to generate a model with high predictive accuracy from a total of 176 image data consisting of 88 flat feet and 88 normal feet. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we performed an experiment comparing the prediction accuracy of the basic CNN-based model and the prediction model derived through the proposed methodology. In the case of the basic CNN model, the training accuracy was 77.27%, the validation accuracy was 61.36%, and the test accuracy was 59.09%. Meanwhile, in the case of our proposed model, the training accuracy was 94.32%, the validation accuracy was 86.36%, and the test accuracy was 84.09%, indicating that the accuracy of our model was significantly higher than that of the basic CNN model.

In this paper, we compares the performance of the gredient descent optimizers of the Faster Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (R-CNN) model for the chromosome object detection in digital images composed of human metaphase chromosomes. In faster R-CNN, the gradient descent optimizer is used to minimize the objective function of the region proposal network (RPN) module and the classification score and bounding box regression blocks. The gradient descent optimizer. Through performance comparisons among these four gradient descent optimizers in our experiments, we found that the Adamax optimizer could achieve the mean average precision (mAP) of about 52% when considering faster R-CNN with a base network, VGG16. In case of faster R-CNN with a base network, ResNet50, the Adadelta optimizer could achieve the mAP of about 58%.
