Superconducting property in the Zn substituted MgC$Ni_3$ (Zn로 치환된 MgCN $i_3$의 초전도 특성)

  • We investigated superconducting property of ($Mg_{1-x}$$Zn_{x}$)$CNi_3$ (x=0,0.03, 0.06, 0.09, 0.12, 0.15, and 0.18) sample where Mg is substituted with Zn. The samples were synthesized us ins the solid state reaction method under As atmosphere. X -ray diffraction spectra show that the $MgCNi_3$ structure is maintained up to x=18. With increasing x, the lattice constant (or the Ni-Ni distance) decreases. Magnetic susceptibility measurement shows that $T_{c}$ decreases systematically with x and becomes ~2K at x =0.18. Surprisingly, the transition width remains sharp (~0.3K). Under some assumptions, we estimate the coupling constant in the McMillan formula as a function of x which we interpret in terms of the BCS theory.y.y.y.

  • We derive a gap of specific heat discontinuity of superconducting crystals theoretically at the critical temperature $T_{CH}$ as an explicit function of applied magnetic field H by using the thermodynamic relations for Gibbs free energy and the linear model for the critical magnetic field $H_{CT}$. The derived a gap of specific heat discontinuity is compared with experimental results by J. Kacmarcik et al. for superconducting MgCNi3 crystal. Our specific heat gap function well explain the jump up phenomena of the superconducting crystals.

  • Data Grid is a kind of Grid computing provides the cooperative environment through the distributed data sharing, and can manage the massive data easily and efficiently. We designed and implemented Globus Toolkit4 (GT4) based database access and integration service (GDAIS). This service was implemented as Grid service for run on the GT4 which is Grid middleware. And it provides functions which are automatic registration of database in virtual organization, distributed query service, and the unified user interface. Also this system can use components which are provided from GT4. Therefore it can improve the efficiency to distribute and manage databases, can easily access and integrate of the distributed heterogeneous data in Grid environments.

Dentinal tubule penetration of sodium hypochlorite in root canals with and without mechanical preparation and different irrigant activation methods

  • Objectives: This study evaluated the dentinal penetration depth of 2.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) in root canals with and without preparation and different irrigant activation protocols. Materials and Methods: Sixty-three bovine mandibular incisors were randomly allocated to 6 groups (n = 10): G1, preparation + conventional needle irrigation (CNI); G2, preparation + passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI); G3, preparation + Odous Clean (OC); G4, no preparation + CNI; G5, no preparation + PUI; G6, no preparation + OC; and CG (negative control; n = 3). Samples were filled with crystal violet for 72 hours. Irrigant activation was performed. Samples were sectioned perpendicularly along the long axis, 3 mm and 7 mm from the apex. Images of the root thirds of each block were captured with a stereomicroscope and analyzed with an image analysis software. One-way analysis of variance, followed by the Tukey post hoc test, and the Student's t-test were used for data analysis, with a significance level of 5%. Results: The NaOCl penetration depth was similar when preparation was performed, regardless of the method of irrigation activation (p > 0.05). In the groups without preparation, G6 showed greater NaOCl penetration depth (p < 0.05). The groups without preparation had a greater NaOCl penetration depth than those with preparation (p = 0.0019). Conclusions: The NaOCl penetration depth was similar in groups with root canal preparation. Without root canal preparation, OC allowed deeper NaOCl penetration. The groups without preparation had greater NaOCl penetration than those undergoing root canal preparation.

Switch-on Phenomena and Field Emission from Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes Embedded in Glass

  • In this study, we will describe a new design of carbon nanotubes tip. Single-walled carbon nanotubes produced using high-pressure CO over Fe particles (HiPCO) at CNI, Houston, TX used in this study. These tips were manufactured by employing a drawing technique using glass puller. Field electron microscopies with tips (cathode) to screen (Anode) separation of ~10 mm was used to characterize the electron emitters. The system was evacuated down to base pressure of (${\sim}10^{-8}$ mbar) when baked at up to (${\sim}200^{\circ}C$) over night. An electron field emission patterns, as well as current versus voltage characteristics and Fowler-Nordheim plots, are discussed.

  • 내장형 자바의 성능 향상을 위해 바이트코드를 기계어 코드로 미리 번역하여 내장형 시스템에 설치하는 Ahead-of-Time Compile(AOTC)가 많이 사용되고 있으나 수행 중에 동적으로 다운로드 되는 바이트코드를 수행하기 위해서는 기존의 해석기도 함께 사용되어야 한다. 이 경우 일부 자바 메소드는 AOTC에 의해 처리되고 일부 메소드는 해석기에 의해 수행되는 하이브리드 수행 환경이 된다. 이러한 환경에서 해석기 메소드가 AOTC 메소드를 호출하거나 AOTC 메소드가 해석기 메소드를 호출하는 경우 호출 오버헤드가 커서 성능을 저하시킬 수 가 있다. 본 연구에서는 AOTC에서 사용 가능한 두 가지 호출 인터페이스인 Java Native Interface(JNI)와 Compiled Native Interface(CNI)에 대해 하이브리드 수행 환경에서의 호출 오버헤드와 성능을 평가하고 각각의 장단점에 대해 논의한다.

Quality Characteristics for the Quality Evaluation of Information System (정보시스템의 품질평가를 위한 품질특성)

  • The purpose of this study is to search for the quality characteristics for evaluation of the information system. The quality characteristics are an important factor for selection, implementation and maintenance of the information system of the company. Of course in the end, the quality of the information system in a company is directly related with the business performance of the company. This paper is a study of a model with four independent variables, a parameter variable, and a total of 15 hypotheses, investigated by a questionnaire method. It conducted the model analysis of structural equation to use statistical package for questionnaire analysis.

  • One of the problems in grinding process using a machining center(MC) with a small diametric wheels is machining error due to decrease of the quill diameter. In this study, side-cut grinding is performed with a vitrified bonded CBN wheel on the machining center. Grinding experiments are performed at various grinding conditions including quill length, quill diameter and depth of cut. The effect on the grinding force, machining error and surface roughness due to the change of the quill rigidity are investigated experimentally. The slenderness ratio of the quill is significant factor to analyse the change of the grinding force and machining error.

  • 이 논문에서는 작업의 처리시간이 임의의 확률분포를 따르고 작업의 납기일이 작업마다 별개인 상황에서의 단일 기계 스케줄링문제에 관하여 살펴본다. 이 때 충분히 이른 작업의 수를 최대화시키는 데에 관심을 둔다. 이러한 스케줄링문제를 풀기 위한 두 가지 알고리즘, 즉 이진정수계획모형과 스케줄링 규칙을 제안한다. 여기서 제안하는 스케줄링 규칙은 처리시간과 납기일이 확정적인 경우에 지연작업의 수를 최소화시켜주는 스케줄링을 제공하는 기존 알고리즘을 처리시간과 납기일이 확률적인 경우로 확장한 것이다. 다음으로 이진정수계획모형과 스케줄링규칙을 성과측면에서 비교한다. 그 결과 대부분의 경우에 스케줄링 규칙이 이진정수계획모형과 거의 같은 스케줄을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 컴퓨터자원을 매우 적게 소모한다.
