Network Camera for CMOS Camera Module Inspection (CMOS 카메라 모듈 검사를 위한 네트워크 카메라)

  • In this paper, we developed a network camera for CMOS camera module inspection. The design, implementation details including embedded linux porting and CPLD logics, and performance of network camera are described. The network camera consists of SoC(S3C4530A), CPLD and CMOS image sensor. In order to image data of CMOS image sensor we designed capture logics on CPLD by using VHDL program. Embedded Linux such as uClinux is performed on the network camera to utilize development environment and TCP/IP protocol specification. The application is based on socket communication between GUI on PC and Embedded Linux based network camera. When JPEG compression is applied, the transmission speed was improved enough for this system to be used for an alternative of expensive CCTV or remote monitoring system in a power plant and uninhabited places.

  • 휴대전화에 카메라가 탑재된 지도 10년 이상이 지났다. 점차 고해상도화와 더불어 카메라로서 점점 실용적으로 진화하고 있다. 장기간 배터리 구동의 필요성에서 저소비전력은 중요과제이고, 종래의 CCD 이미지센서에서 CMOS센서로 거의 대체되었다고 할 수 있다. 기기의 소형화에 동반해 탑재되는 카메라모듈의 소형화에 대한 요구는 매우 강하다. 특히 박형화된 표시부와 함께 실장되는 inside 카메라의 저배화(低背化)는 급속히 진행됐다. 모듈의 높이를 낮게 하기 위해서는 광학렌즈의 광로장을 적게 하는 것이 요구되지만 고해상도 때문에 이미 지사이즈가 대형화하는 경향과 상반된다. 본고는 광기술컨텍트 2010년 10월호에서 발췌한 것으로서 이미지사이즈를 유지하면서 고해상도화를 실현하는 미세 셀에서 성능을 확보하는 기술과 카메라모듈을 소형화하는 기술에 대해서 개괄하였다.

  • 본 논문은 High speed image를 획득하기 위하여 CMOS Image Sensor를 사용한 고속카메라 구현에 관한 연구이다. Image Sensor로는 CCD Image Sensor와 CMOS Image Sensor가 있으며 CMOS Image Sensor는 CCD Image Sensor에 비해 전력소모가 적고 주변회로의 내장으로 소형화 할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 고속카메라는 충돌 테스트, 에어벡 제어 등의 자동차 분야와 골프 자세 교정 장치와 같은 스포츠 분야, 탄도 방향 측정 장비 등의 국방 분야 등 여러 분야에 많이 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서 구현한 고속카메라 시스템은 CMOS Image Sensor를 사용하여 1280 * 1024의 해상도로 초당 약 500 frames의 영상을 획득할 수 있다. 또한 CMOS Image Sensor를 제어하고 획득한 이미지를 저장할 수 있도록 FPGA와 DDR2 메모리를 사용하고 저장된 데이터를 PC로 전송하기 위한 Camera Link 모듈 그리고 PC에서 카메라를 제어할 수 있도록 RS-422 통신기능 등으로 구성되었다.

A Study on the CMOS Camera robust to radiation environments (방사선 환경에 강인한 CMOS카메라에 관한 연구)

  • Human access is restricted to environment where radiation sources are used, however observation equipment should be radiation-resistant as it is exposed. Therefore, if tungsten with the highest specific gravity and melting point and the lowest lead were selected to reduce the dose to the Cobalt 60 radiation source to 1/8, Tu had a volume of 432.6cm3, a thickness of 2.4cm, and Pb had a volume of 961cm3,, a thickness of 3.6cm. By applying this method, produced a radiation resistant CMOS camera with a camera module using a CMOS Image sensor and a radiation shielding structured housing. As a result of applying the head detachable 2M AHD camera (No. ①) that survived the experiment to select the optimal shielding thickness, when shielding the associated equipment such as cameras, adapters, etc. is achieved, it was confirmed that the design of the structure is appropriate by operating well at doses higher than 1.88×106rad. Therefore, it is expected to secure the camera technology and business feasibility that can be applied to high radiation environments.

  • In this paper, camera modules and lens's images were analyzed for the compensation of distortion image by wide angle lens based WDR(Wide Dynamic Range) with high resolution sensor(2-Mega CMOS Image sensor). Due to wide angle ($176^{\circ}$) of designed wide angle camera modules, the compensation result of distorted image was analyzed, and the application of these modules was proposed for smart NUX(Natural User eXprience).

  • In this paper, we propose a system that the Linux is ported in embedded system with peripheral devices of CIS(CMOS Image Sensor) and GPS module. The system acquires GGA sentence from GPS module by recognizing camera and GPS is used module in Linux kernel. And then the received location information is used to include still image acquired through CIS According to this paper, We compose hardware for embedded system, attach board (including camera), port Linux BootLoader and Kernel. And. then we realize that it insert kernel in CIS control device driver and GPS module device driver.

  • In this paper, the lens module of mega pixel type was designed for barrel distortion calibration due to the barrel distortion of ultra wide angle. And the performance of this camera module was improved with the images from wide dynamic range 2 megapixel CMOS image sensor.

  • In order to display Bayer input stream received from CMOS image sensor to the display device, image signal processing must be performed. That is, the hardware performing the image signal processing for Bayer data is called ISP(Image Signal Processor). We can see real image through ISP processing. ISP executes functionalities for gamma correction, interpolation, color space conversion, image effect, image scale, AWB, AE and AF. In this paper, we obtained the optimum algorithm through software verification of ISP module for CMOS camera image sensor and described using VHDL and verified in ModelSim6.0a simulator. Also we downloaded into Xilinx XCV-1000e for the designed ISP module and completed the board level verification using PCI interface.

Development of Device Driver for Image Capture and Storage by Using VGA Camera Module Based on Windows CE (WINDOWS CE 기반 VGA 카메라 모듈의 영상 획득과 저장을 위한 디바이스 드라이버 개발)

  • In this paper device driver for camera capture in hand held mobile system is implemented based on microsoft windows CE operating system. We also study the storage device driver based on the FAT fie system by using NAND flash memory as a storage device. We use the MBA2440 PDA board for implementing the hardware for image capture by using CMOS camera module producted by PixelPlus company. This camera module has VGA $640{\times}480$ pixel resolution. We also make application program which can be cooperated with the device driver for testing its performance, for example image capture speed and quality of captured image. We check that the application can be cooperated well not only with the device driver for camera capture but also with the device driver for FAT file system designed especially for the NAND flash memory.
