Water balance Change of the Han River Basin by climate change (기후 변화에 따른 한강 유역의 물수지 변화)

  • 최근 기후 변화로 인한 한반도의 극한 홍수 및 가뭄의 발생 빈도가 급증하고 있다. 이와 같은 이상 기후의 발생으로 연간 강수량의 편차가 더 커지면서 장래 물 부족 문제가 더욱 심화될 전망이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 한강 유역의 수문 모형 구축을 통해 미래 물수지 변화를 정량적으로 예측함으로써 기후 변화가 한강 유역의 수문순환요소와 수자원에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 평가하였다. 레이더 강우 시계열 자료의 활용을 위하여 격자 단위로 분석이 가능한 분포형 수문 모형 VIC (Variable Infiltration Capacity)을 사용하였고 모형 구축에는 레이더 강우와 종관기상관측소의 강우 자료에 조건부 합성 기법(Conditional Merging, CM)을 적용하여 보정된 강우 자료를 사용하였다. 제공되는 VIC의 토양, 식생 변수는 공간 해상도가 너무 낮고 유역 내에서도 공간적인 변동성이 크지 않아 침투에 관련된 매개변수를 토지 피복과 연관 지어 격자마다 적정한 매개변수를 회귀 분석하여 새로 산정하였다. 먼저 보정 기간 6년(2009-2014)에 대해 보정을 하고 이후 검증 기간 6년(2014-2019)에 대해 검증을 진행하였다. 보정, 검증 기간에 대한 NSE 값은 각각 0.968, 0.569로 양호한 결과를 보여주었다. 구축된 수문 모형에 기후 변화를 고려하기 위해 GCM 기반의 CMIP6 미래기상자료를 입력해서 미래의 물 수지와 수문순환요소의 변화를 모의하였고 모의 결과, 미래 기간에는 강수의 편차가 더욱 심화되면서 가뭄이 더 빈번하게 발생하는 경향을 보였다.

Future inflow projection based on Bayesian optimization for hyper-parameters (하이퍼매개변수 베이지안 최적화 기법을 적용한 미래 유입량 예측)

  • 최근 데이터 사이언스의 비약적인 발전과 함께 다양한 형태의 딥러닝 알고리즘이 개발되어 수자원 분야에도 적용되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 LSTM(Long Short-Term Memory) 네트워크와 BO-LSTM이라는 베이지안 최적화(BO) 기술을 결합하여 일단위 앙상블 미래 댐유입량을 projection하는 딥 러닝 모델을 제안하였다. BO-LSTM 하이퍼파라미터 및 손실 함수는 베이지안 최적화 기법을 통해 훈련 및 최적화되며, BO 접근법은 모델의 하이퍼파라미터와 손실 함수를 높은 정확도로 빠르게 최적화할 수 있었다(R=0.92 및 NSE=0.85). 또한 미래 댐 유입량을 예측하기 위한 LSTM의 구조는 Forecasting 모형과 Proiection 모형으로 구분하여 두 모형의 장단점을 분석하였으며, 본 연구의 결과로부터 데이터 처리 단계가 모델 훈련의 효율성을 높이고 노이즈를 줄이는 데 효과적이고 미래 예측에 있어 LSTM 구조에 따른 영향을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 소양강 유역, 2020-2100년 기간 동안의 미래 예측에 적용되었다. 전반적으로, CIMIP6 데이터에 따르면 10%에서 50%의 미래 유입량 증가가 발생하는 것으로 확인되었으며, 이는 미래 강수량의 증가의 폭과 유사함을 확인하였다. 유입량 산정에 있어 신뢰할 수 있는 예측은 저수지 운영, 계획 및 관리에 있어 정책 입안자와 운영자에게 도움이 될 것입니다.

LSTM model predictions of inflow considering climate change and climate variability (기후변화 및 기후변동성을 고려한 LSTM 모형 기반 유입량 예측)

  • 미래에 대한 기후는 과거와 비교하여 변동성이 더 크고 불확실성 또한 더 크기 때문에 미래의 기후변화를 예측하기 위해서는 기후변화의 절대적인 크기뿐 아니라 불확실한 정도도 함께 고려되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 CMIP6(Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6) DB에서 제공된 일 단위 18개의 GCMs(General Circulation Models)의 결과를 분석하였으며 또한 3개의SSP(Shared Socioeconomic Pathway)시나리오와 3개의 미래 구간에 대하여 100개의 앙상블을 각각 생성하였다. 불확실성을 초래하는 원인을 3가지로 구분하고, 각각의 원인에 대한 불확실성의 정도를 앙상블 시나리오에 반영하고자 한다. 현재 기간 및 미래 기간에 대해 100개의 20년 시계열 날씨변수 앙상블을 생성하여 LSTM(Long short-term memory)의 입력자료로 사용하여 댐유입량, 저수위, 방류량을 산정하였다. 댐 유입량 및 방류량의 예측성능을 향상시키기 위해 Input predictor의 종류를 선정하는 방법과 그 변수들의 lag time을 결정하는 방법, 입력자료들을 재구성하는 방법, 하이퍼 매개변수를 효율적으로 최적화하는 방법, 목적함수 설정 방법들을 제시하여 댐 유입량 및 방류량의 예측을 크게 향상시키고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 예측된 미래의 댐유입량 및 방류량 정보는 홍수 또는 가뭄 등 다양한 수자원 관련 문제의 전략을 수립하는 데 있어서 적절한 도움이 될 것이다.

Design and Implementation of Reference Evapotranspiration Database for Future Climate Scenarios (기후변화 시나리오를 이용한 미래 읍면동단위 기준증발산량 데이터베이스 설계 및 구축)

  • Meanwhile, reference evapotranspiration(ET0) is important information for agricultural management including irrigation planning and drought assessment, the database of reference evapotranspiration for future periods was rarely constructed especially at districts unit over the country. The Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5) provides several meteorological data such as precipitation, average temperature, humidity, wind speed, and radiation for long-term future period at daily time-scale. This study aimed to build a database for reference evapotranspiration using the climate forecasts at high resolution (the outputs of HadGEM3-RA provided by Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA)). To estimate reference evapotranspiration, we implemented four different models such as FAO Modified Penman, FAO Penman-Monteith, FAO Blaney-Criddle, and Thornthwaite. The suggested database system has an open architecture so that user could add other models into the database. The database contains 5,050 regions' data for each four models and four Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) climate change scenarios. The developed database system provides selecting features by which the database users could extract specific region and period data.

Uncertainty Characteristics in Future Prediction of Agrometeorological Indicators using a Climatic Water Budget Approach (기후학적 물수지를 적용한 기후변화에 따른 농업기상지표 변동예측의 불확실성)

  • The Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5), coordinated by the World Climate Research Programme in support of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) AR5, is the most recent, provides projections of future climate change using various global climate models under four major greenhouse gas emission scenarios. There is a wide selection of climate models available to provide projections of future climate change. These provide for a wide range of possible outcomes when trying to inform managers about possible climate changes. Hence, future agrometeorological indicators estimation will be much impacted by which global climate model and climate change scenarios are used. Decision makers are increasingly expected to use climate information, but the uncertainties associated with global climate models pose substantial hurdles for agricultural resources planning. Although it is the most reasonable that quantifying of the future uncertainty using climate change scenarios, preliminary analysis using reasonable factors for selecting a subset for decision making are needed. In order to narrow the projections to a handful of models that could be used in a climate change impact study, we could provide effective information for selecting climate model and scenarios for climate change impact assessment using maximum/minimum temperature, precipitation, reference evapotranspiration, and moisture index of nine Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) scenarios.

The Design of Real-Time Full Accounting Management System in a Broadband Access Network (광대역 액세스망의 실시간 과금 관리 시스템 설계)

  • The billing manabement techniques for multiple services in the B-ISDN network have been rarely developed. In fact, the management techniques including billing manabement only focus on a single service environment. In this paper, we propose a billing management system architecture for the multiple services in a Broadband access network. The architecture is based in OSI system management infrastruture and TMN Q3 interface to exchange and process the billing information from access node that is an ATM Cross connecter. The system is designed to actively adopt the rapidly changing service environments and B-ISDN network management techniques. Futhermore, this system supports multiple services providers by real-time collector and charging functions for their requirements compared to the previous methodologies tat only use the statistical data.

  • Currently there are many standards of network management. They are : SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol-for Internet management), CMIP (Common Management Information Protocol-standardized by ITU-T and ISO), RMON (Remote network MONitoring-for distributed management of the LAN segment), and so on. Especially RMON has created the many concerns in order to manage subnetworks of a large network, but it has negative aspects. For instance, routers or hubs with RMON capability are expensive to a network manager because of adding heavy management cost. Moreover it imposes a heavier burden on network manager, because it must use a network management tool which will be additionally needed with RMON device. This paper proposes a model of PC based RMON Agent system. The RMON Agent system monitors the traffic on LAN segment through the use of a Virtual Device Driver (VxD), based on PC. In term of cost this model will replace the expensive RMON device, and eventually enable a network manager to manage LAN segment more efficiently, due to reduced cost.

Projection of Extreme Precipitation at the end of 21st Century over South Korea based on Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) (대표농도경로 (RCP)에 따른 21세기 말 우리나라 극한강수 전망)

  • Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) are the latest emission scenarios recommended to use for the fifth assessment report of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. This study investigates the projection of extreme precipitation in South Korea during the forthcoming 21st Century using the generalized extreme value (GEV) analysis based on two different RCP conditions i.e., RCP 4.5 and 8.5. Maximum daily precipitation required for GEV analysis for RCP 4.5 and 8.5 are obtained from a high-resolution regional climate model forced by the corresponding global climate projections, which are produced within the CMIP5 framework. We found overall increase in frequency of extreme precipitation over South Korea in association with climate change. Particularly, daily extreme precipitation that has been occurred every 20 years in current climate (1980~2005) is likely to happen about every 4.3 and 3.4 years by the end of 21st Century (2070~2099) under the RCP 4.5 and 8.5 conditions, respectively.

GCMs-Driven Snow Depth and Hydrological Simulation for 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics (기후모형(GCMs)에 기반한 2018년 평창 동계올림픽 적설량 및 수문모의)

  • Hydrological simulation Program-Fortran (HSPF) model was used to simulate streamflow and snow depth at Pyengchang watershed. The selected Global Climate Models (GCMs) provided by the Coupled Model Intercomparision Project Phase 3 (CMIP3) were utilized to evaluate streamflow and snow depth driven by future climate scenarios, including A1, A1B, and B1. Bias-correlation and temporal downscaling processes have been performed to minimize systematic errors between GCMs and HSPF. Based on simulated monthly streamflow and snow depth after calibration, the results indicate that HSPF performs well. The correlation coefficient between the observed and simulated monthly streamflow is 0.94. Snow depth simulations also show high correlation coefficient, which is 0.91. The results indicate that snow depth in 2018 at Pyongchang winter olympic venues will decrease by 17.62%, 9.38%, and 7.25% in January, February, and March respectively, based on streamflow realizations induced by all GCMs ensembles.

  • The billing techniques to support multiple services in an ATM based broadband access network have been rarely developed. In fact, the management techniques including accounting management have only focused on a single service environment such as PSTN thus far. In this paper, we present an accounting management system, called rtFAMS, designed and implemented to provide multiple Value Added Service Providers (VASPS) the charging records for the multiple services in a broadband access network. The architecture is based on OSI system management infrastructure and TMN Q3 interface to acquire accounting information from agents in the ATM cross-connecters as well as to process the billing mechanisms in the manager. This system Is designed to actively adopt the rapidly changing service environments and B-ISDN network management techniques. It also provides real-time accounting information to users using Web in addition to supplying the billing records to VASPs.
