  • The resolving capacities of xanthophyll pigments on thin-layers of Silica Gel, Hyflo super-Cel, and Micro-Cel C with varying concentrations of acetone in petroleum ether as the developing solvent were compared. The results showed that the resolving capacity of Micro-Cel C thin-layer was superior to others and satisfactory for the separation of leaf carotenoids in clearly separated six bands; carotenes, lutein-zeaxanthin, antheraxanthin, violaxanthin, an unidentified band, and neoxanthin, when it was developed with $13\%$ acetone-petroleum ether solution for 15 to 20minutes in an unsaturated chamber. Adhension of Micro-Cel C to glass was adequate without binder. Calcium sulfate used as a binder appeared to inactivate the resolving capacity of Micro-Cel C. Removing an about 0.2cm-wide layer on bo side of thin-layer slide helped to prevent 'edge effect' which gave tailing and faster solvent ascending along the side than the center. An adequate thickness of thin-layer was obtained when a 3 ml aliquot of the suspension in which l0g powdered Micro-Cel C was suspended in 75 ml distilled water was coated on a $2\times20cm$ glass slide.

  • Carbon composites for flexible fiber heating element were examined to improve the electrical conductivity in this study. Carbon composites using carbon black, denka black, super-c, super-p with/without CNF or dispersant such as BCS03 and Sikament-nn were prepared. Carbon composite slurry was coated on plane film and yarns(cotton, polyester) and the performances of prepared heating materials were investigated by checking electrical surface resistance, adhesion strength. The plane heating element using carbon black under natural drying condition($25^{\circ}C$) had better physical properties such as surface resistance(185.3 Ohm/sq) and adhesion strength(above 90%) than those of other carbon composite heating elements. From these results, polyester heating element coated by carbon black showed better electrical line resistance(33.2 kOhm/cm) than cotton heating element. Then, it was found that polyester heating element coated by carbon black with CNF(3 wt%) and BCS03(1 wt%) appeared best properties(0.604 kOhm/cm).

  • Spatial distribution characteristics, volume backscattering strength and species composition of midwater trawling catch was analyzed biological and acoustical characteristics of anchovy shoal, using a high resolution echo - sounder at the south region of East sea of Korea. 1) In the survey site A of Lat.35$^{\circ}$55'N, Long.129$^{\circ}$45'E, the anchovy shoal of small to middle size with the horizontal range of 10~25m and large size with the horizontal range of 40~50m were distributed together. However in the survey site B of Lat.35$^{\circ}$38'N, Long.129$^{\circ}$40'E, the anchovy shoal was observed to be mainly small size which about 78% of the detected shoal. Another was that the anchovy shoal with the vertical range of 2~8m occupied about 68.6% in the survey site A and that of 6~12m occupied about 42.5% in the survey site B. The mainly the site A and B were found to be 10~50m super (2), 64.5% and 20~80m super (2), 66%, respectively. 2) The volume backscattering strength in the site A and B were observed to be -44.0~ -28.0dB, respectively. In the site A, the backscattering strength of -40.0~ -30.0dB was analyzed about 41.4%. 3) Most of total anchovy shoal was concentrated in the water layer of 50~100m in depth with 15.3~18.5$^{\circ}C$, 34.0~34.3$\textperthousand$ in the survey site A and 14.2~16.4$^{\circ}C$, 34.1~34.2$\textperthousand$ in the survey site B. 4) Mean total length(TL) and body weight(BW) of anchovy in the survey site A were 9.9cm and 4.4g respectively, with TL-BW relationship of BW=0.0007T$L^3.65$super (3.85). In site B, mean total length(TL) and body weight(BW) were 11.2cm and 8.7g, with TL-BW relationship of BW=0.0023T$L^3.36$.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the volume fraction of water and injection pressure on the spray characteristics of water/oil emulsified fuel injected from the pressure swirl atomizer. The mixture of light oil and water by using impeller mixer was performed. The spray characteristics such as SMD and velocity were measured using PDPA. The injection pressures were 7.5, 100, 200 and $300kgt/cm^2$ and volume fractions of water in emulsified fuel were 0, 10, 20 and 30%, respectively. The measurement sections were at 30, 60 and 90mm from injection nozzle tip. SMD and velocity of emulsified fuel were larger gradually by increasing the volume fraction of water in emulsified fuel. The spray angle was decreased and axial velocity was increased with increase in water content. It was found that the relative SMD ratio was increased more greatly than the relative axial velocity ratio in super critical pressure. The relative SMD ratio was increased and the relative axial velocity ratio was decreased with increase injection pressure at spray downstream.

  • The Silica gel with the density of 0.2g/cm3 and porosity of 90% was synthesized. The silica wet gel was dried and heat-treated under the ambient pressure after modification of the wet gel surface by TMCS. Specific surface area total pore volume and mean pore radius of dried gel were all increased with increasing heat treatment temperature and confirmed about 1400m2/g, 4.5cc/g and 8 nm respectively after heat treatment above 25$0^{\circ}C$. But the pore size distribution of dried gel was in the range of 1-100nm and was almost indepen-dent of temperature. As the result of external shape pore characteristics and microstructure of gel using SEM similar properties were observed between the silica gel synthesized in this study and the silica aerogel through the super critical drying.

  • In this paper, we described the basic elements(flowabiligy, fillingability, elapsed time, pumpability, no-vibrating effects, and etc.) required for the application and quality control of the super flowing concrete(SFC) in Top Down site. Also, manufactured sand and fly ash were used for investigating characteristics of SFC through various experiments(mix design, optimum mix condition) before placing the concrete in site. As a result of this project, the developed SFC shown high flowability and self-fillingability in the joint good enough for the requirement. Futhermore, inner uniformity of the no-vibrated concrete was verified by testing reformed space. Therefore, quality control and compressive strength(360kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$) can be secured by using SFC even without vibrating.

  • High ambient interstellar pressure is suggested as a possible factor to explain the ubiquitous ob-served growth-rate discrepancy for supernova-driven super bubbles and stellar wind bubbles. Pressures of P / k ${\~} 10^5\;cm^{-3}$ K are plausible for regions with high star formation rates, and these values are intermediate between the estimated Galactic mid-plane pressure and those observed in starburst galaxies. High-pressure components also are commonly seen in Galactic ISM localizations. We demonstrate the sensitivity of shell growth to the ambient pressure, and suggest that super bubbles ultimately might serve as ISM barometers.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest concrete mix proportioning design using Blast-furnace slag cement. The mix conditions are specified by concrete strength(180~400kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$), slump$(15\pm2cm)$m and air volume$(4.5\pm1%)$. From the result of concrete mix proportioning design using Blast-furnace slag cement, unit water content can be reduced by 3~8% comparing with OPC. The relationship between strength at 28days and cement water ratio is as follow. when blast-furnace slag cement is used: $\sigma_{28}$=304.OC/W-296.8. Super-plasticizer have to be used to get a slump of 15cm when water/cement ratio is less than 45%.
