Oceanic Diffusion Characteristics in Jinhae Bay (진해만의 해양확산특성연구)

  • Diffusion processes in tidal swinging coastal waters are studied by releasing one hundred liters of Rhodamine B four times. Dye patches were formed from instantaneous point sources. The patches were sampled with a pump on a tracking boat, and samples were analyzed with fluorospectro-photometer. The patterns of patches were reconstructed and their characteristics were analyzed in terms of variance of concentration, area estimation, and decrease rate of peak concentration. In all of the four experiments, the dye patches were mos시 elongated to the direction of current axis. the elongation rate was 0.34 on the average. Apparent diffusivities were 620 to 3,000 cm super(2) /sec during initial period of 90 minutes. The variance increased by exp(0.047t) on the average, and peak concentration deceased by exp(-0.044t) on the average.

The Exchange of Sea Water in Yeoja Bay (여자만의 해수교환)

  • Tidal exchange of sea water was studied by using drogue experiments and tidal current measurement data in Yeoja Bay which has a narrow channel. At the spring tide, the volume of tidal transport in the bay was estimated to be 43% of the mean volume of the sea water in Yeoja Bay, 1.96km super(3). Residual current was deduced to flow southward at the rate of 3,658$\times$10 super(4) m super(3) per tidal cycle. The mean tidal exchange of sea water during the flood flow was estimated to be approximately 5.0% of the volume of sea water at the mean high water level in the bay, 2.33km super(3), while that during the ebb flow was 6.3%. One dimensional diffusion coefficient of 1.69-1.97$\times$10 super(6) cm super(2)/sec was obtained at the channel in the bay.

Emotional Factors in Calligraphic TV Drama Title with CM Super (캘리그래피를 활용한 CM Super된 TV 드라마 타이틀의 감성요소)

  • Recently, the emotional design has become one of the central issues. The interest to Calligraphy also has increased. This study is to examine the effect of calligraphic TV title to viewers through questionnaires. As a result of the questionnaire analysis, calligraphic title makes a favorable impression on viewers. On the other hand, viewers have an antipathy to a drama program with a calligraphic title. The appropriate use of calligraphic title is requested. The viewers prefer that CM Super TV drama title is located to the right side in TV screen. They also prefer the animated moving title to colored background title. This study contributes to the further research about the correlation between TV commercial zap-rate and calligraphic title.

Galvanic Anode Charactristics of Grounding Cell Design for Corrosion Protection of Pipings (배관 방식용 접지전지 설계를 위한 유전양극의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The galvanic anodes have three kinds of Zn alloy anode, Al alloy anode and Mg alloy anode, which are widely used in cathodic protection for all metal structures in water or under ground. This paper to be used for designing of the grounding cell has reached the following conclusion as the results of an experimental study on the characteristics of such galvanic anodes for corrosion protection of pipings: 1) Zn alloy anode was the best when the specific resistance of the environment was bellow 1000 $\Omega$.cm, and when above 1000 $\Omega$.cm, Mg alloy anode to be used for designing of the grounding cell was the best. 2) Al alloy anode was better than Mg alloy anode for grounding cell when the specific resistance was bellow 500 $\Omega$.cm, but the Al alloy anode in all the environments reduced the characteristics of galvanic anode to the lower grade than those of Zn alloy anode. 3) Each impressed voltage (E) of the anodes at which drainage current density ($\rho$) begins rapidly increasing is quantitatively presented as follows: \circled1 E sub(Zn)=log (4.9465/$\rho$super(0.0639))+11$\times$10 super(-6)$\rho$super(0.8923i) \circled2 E sub(Al)=log (4.9306/$\rho$super(0.0525))+13$\times$10 super(-6)$\rho$super(0.9314i) \circled3 E sub(Mg)= log (3.7086/$\rho$super(0.0988))+181$\times$10 super(-6)$\rho$super(0.5406i) 4) The empirical equations between the drainage current density (i) and impressed environment are modeled as the following type. logi=g+root(n.E+r)(g,n,r; constants)

A Model Experiment on the Hydrodynamic Characteristics of the Simple Camber and the Super-V Otter Board (단순만곡형과 슈퍼-V형 전개판의 유체역학적 성능에 관한 모형실험)

  • The authors carried out a model experiment to examine the hydrodynamic charactristics of the simple camber and the super-V otter board. The model otter boards are made of 1 mm thick iron plate. The simple camber otter board is made to have $12\%$ camber ratio and $432\;cm^2$ plane projected area, and the super-V otter board to have the same camber ratio as the former in every latitudinal section and almost the same plane projected area. The experiment had been done in a circular flow tank in the speed range of $0.1\~1.2m/sec$. As a result, it is examined that in the simple camber otter board the most effective angle of attack is about $25^{\circ}$, the shearing coefficient 1.47 and the drag coefficient 0.42, while in the super-V otter board they are about $20^{\circ}$, 1.40 and 0.40 respectively, so that the simple camber otter board performs a little better efficiency than the super-V otter board.

Growth, Flowering, and Ripening Seed Characteristics of Seedling Cacti, Astrophytum asterias and Astrophytum myriostigma (선인장 Astrophytum asterias와 Astrophytum myriostigma의 생육, 개화 및 종자형성 특성)

  • This experiment was conducted to investigate the propagation system by seed to check growth, flowering, and making seed of four-year-old seedling cactus of potted Astrophytum asterias 'Nudum', A. asterias 'Super Kabuto', and A. myriostigma 'Nudum'. Plant height and width of Astrophytum asterias 'Nudum' and A. asterias 'Super Kabuto' was 5.3 to 5.5 cm, and 2.5 cm. However, plant height and width of A. myriostigma 'Nudum' was 7.6 cm and 5.6 cm as divided into 8 sections of body. In A. asterias 'Nudum', the mean seeded pod from April to September was 37.0% and the number of seeds in a pod was 43.0. In A. asterias 'Super Kabuto', the mean seeded pod from April to September was 22.5% and the number of seeds in a pod was 26.2. However, the mean seeded pod of A. myriostigma 'Nudum' from April to September was 32.3% and the number of seeds in a pod was 57.4. Especially, the seeded pod and the number of seeds in a pod of A. asterias 'Nudum' in July was the highest, 72.0% and 66.0. The sib crossing obtained much more seeded pods and the number of seeds per pod than that of selfing in the Astrophytum. The self crossing was formed from 9.0 to 20.0% of seeded pod, and 12.0 to 16.0 seeds in a pod. However, sib crossing was formed 60.0% seeded pod and 68.0 seeds in a pod on July of A. myriostigma 'Nudum'.

A Study on the Characteristics of the Circulation and Diffusion in Suyeong Bay (수관만의 해수유동과 확산지성에 관한 연구)

  • Simultaneous investigations for drift bottle and dye diffusion experiment were carried out in Suyeong bay. Seawater in Suyeong bay flowed differently in the vicinity of Suyeong river estuary and Nam-cheon Dong respectively. The speed of current did not exceed one knot in this bay. The dye patch moved to Kwangan beach in the dye diffusion experiment. The relationship between apparent diffusivity and diffusion time was appeared as Ka=0.0025t super(1.9). The variance was calculated to be 2.9 power of the diffusion time. And the exponent diffusivity versus the scale of diffusion time was appeared to be 1.3.

Fluidity of Super Flow Concrete Using Recycled Coarse Aggregate (재생굵은골재를 사용한 초유동 콘크리트의 유동성)

  • This study was performed to evaluate fluidity of super flow concrete using recycled coarse aggregate. The unit weight was $2,246{\sim}2,344\;kg/m^3$, the unit weights of these concrete were decreased with increasing the content of fly ash and recycled coarse aggregate. The slump flow was $58{\sim}63\;cm$, the Box type passing was $3.4{\sim}6.8\;cm$, respectively. The L type compacting was excellent in the fly ash content $10\%\;and\;20\%$, but, it was showed in good in the fly ash content $30\%$. The super flow concretes using recycled coarse aggregate were improved by substitution in the range of less than the fly ash content $20\%$ and recycled coarse aggregate content $75\%$. This recycled coarse aggregate can be used for super flow concrete.

A Method on the Control of Hydration Heat of Mass Concrete Considering the Difference of Setting Time (응결시간차를 활용한 매스콘크리트의 수화열 조정공법)

  • This Paper Presents field application test results of mass concrete using super retarding agent. The field test was carried out at mat foundation(thickness 1m) of newly constructed information center of Chongju university. Placing lift composed of 2 layers, and each layer is 50cm. Fly ash and flowing method is also applied. Difference of setting time of concrete between with super retarding agent and without super retarding agent is considered. Concrete without super retarding agent is placed at upper layer and with super retarding agent at lower layer According to test results, the reducing method of hydration heat considering difference of setting time with super retarding agent can reduce the highest temperature about 3~4$^{\circ}C$, and delay the peak time about 3~4days. Compressive strength using super retarding agent is somewhat higher than that of normal concrete. Accordingly, super retarding agent does not affect the strength development.

Selection of White Asparagus Varieties Suitable for Shading Culture (차광재배에 적합한 화이트 아스파라거스 품종 선발)

  • This experiment was carried out to select white asparagus varieties suitable for shading culture in greenhouse. Eight white and one green varieties were tested. Seeds were sown in 72-cell trays in a glasshouse on 24 Dec. 2008 and the seedlings were transplanted in a P.E house on 22 May 2009. Planting distances were 30 cm apart in a raw and 125 cm between the raws. For white asparagus production, small tunnel ($210cm{\times}160cm$) was established inside the P.E house, and covered with black and white P.E film (0.1 mm) on 5 March 2010. Days to sprouting took 5 days in 'Ravel' variety and took 16 to 18 days in 'Backlim', 'Horlim', 'Herkolim' varieties. The number of spear was highest in 'Ravel' with 6 and lowest in 'Backlim' with 3.7. The spear weight was heaviest in 'Herkolim' with 25.6 g and lightest in 'Ravel' with 15.6 g. The highest total yield was in 'Herkolim' with 296 kg/10a, followed by 'Super welcome' with 275 kg/10a and lowest in 'Rapsody' with 176 kg/10a. Marketable yields in 'Super welcome' and 'Herkolim' were 241 kg/10a and 239 kg/10a, respectively, and the yield was lowest in 'Rapsody' with 139 kg/10a. The L grade (over 20 g of spear weight) was highest in 'Herkolim'. Accordingly, 'Herkolim' was the most suitable white asparagus variety among the tested varieties for shading cultivation in greenhouse.
