비 막힘형 수중 펌프 임펠러 형상이 펌프 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Impeller Shape of Submersible Nonclogging Pump on its Performance)

  • 본 연구에서는 15kW 모터로 구동되는 $5m^3$/min의 유량을 고효율로 공급할 수 있는 2엽 비막힘형 수중 펌프의 임펠러를 설계하는 것을 목표로 임펠러 출구 위치 변화($h_I$), 출구 폭($b_2$) 및 허브 프로파일이 펌프 성능에 미치는 영향을 상용 해석용 프로그램 ANSYS CFX를 사용한 전산해석을 통해 수행하였다. 해석 결과, 임펠러 출구 위치 변화($h_I$) 및 출구 폭($b_2$)이 증가하면 양정 및 축동력의 경우는 $h_I$, $b_2$와 함께 지속적으로 증가하지만 효율의 경우는 $h_I$=38 mm, $b_2$=55 mm 까지만 증가하며, 그 이상의 값에서는 일정한 값을 가짐을 보여준다. 그리고 허브 프로파일의 변화는 상대적으로 임펠러 성능에 큰 영향을 미치지는 않는다.

흡수정의 유동해석 (Flow analysis of the Sump Pump)

  • 흡수정은 댐이나 저수지에 저장된 물을 흡입하여 사용하는 설비이다. 흡입한 다량의 물은 화력 및 원자력 등의 대형 발전소의 냉각시스템에 사용된다. 특징으로 흡입 유량과 흡수정의 비가 작으면 흡입구 주변에서 유속이 증가한다. 이로 인해 와류나 선회류의 불균형 유동이 발생된다. 불균형 유동은 흡수정의 성능을 저하나 고장의 원인이 된다. 해결하기 위한 다양한 방법이 고안되고 있으나 최저수위 일 경우 정확한 해결 방법을 찾지 못하고 있다. 가장 효율적인 해결방법으로는 AVD를 설치하거나 관로를 길게하는 방법이 있다. 이렇게 설치된 구조물이 유동의 흐름을 균일하게 만들어 주기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 관로의 길이와 AVD의 형태 변화에 따른 흡수정 내의 유동특성을 수치해석으로 분석한다. 수치해석을 위하여 수정의 흡입부, 섬프, 펌프의 3단계로 분리하여 모델링하였다. 격자는 해석의 정확도를 위해 흡입부는 비조밀, 흡수정과 AVD는 조밀하게 하였다. ANSYS ICEM-CFD 14.5를 이용하여 120~150만개의 격자를 생성하였고 Tetra grid와 Prism grid를 혼용하였다. 해석을 위해 상용 CFD 프로그램인 ANSYS CFX14.5의 SST 난류모델을 선정하였다. 조건으로 H.W.L 6.0m, L.W.L 3.5, Qmax 4.000 kg/s, Qavg 3.500 kg/s Qmin 2.500 kg/s로 설정하였다. 보텍스 각도와 속도분포로 해석한 결과는 다음과 같다. Ext E-type의 AVD를 설치한 흡수정이 최고수위 일때 합격하였다. 추후, Ext E-type을 기본으로 하여 최저수위일 때 만족하는 연구가 필요하다.

제동시간이 통풍형 디스크 브레이크 시스템의 건전성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of the Braking Time on the Soundness of Ventilated Disc Brake Systems)

  • In order to analyze the soundness of ventilated disc brake systems, numerical study was performed with various vane shapes. In particular, two different vane type, and the braking time from 3.0 s to 4.5s with the interval of 0.5s were considered. Transient temperature distributions on the ventilated disc brake assembly were calculated using ANSYS CFX ver. 16.1. To elucidate the soundness of ventilated disc brake systems, moreover, the heat transfer coefficients were evaluated. Results were graphically depicted with different geometrical vane configurations and braking time.

상용 CFD코드를 이용한 공조기 입구 형상 설계 (Inlet Shape Design of Air Handling Unit Using Commercial CFD Code)

  • A commercial CFD code is used to compute the 3-D viscous flow field within the inlet flow concentrator of the newly developed AHU (Air Handling Unit). To improve the performance of the AHU, the inlet air needs to be gradually accelerated to the fan's annular velocity without causing turbulence or flow separation. Three major geometric parameters were selected to specify the inlet shape of the AHU. The performance of the AHU could be measured by the inlet and outlet flow uniformity and the total pressure loss through the inlet flow concentrator. Several numerical calculations were carried out to determine the influence of the geometric parameters on the performance of the AHU. The best geometric values were decided to have efficient inlet shape with analyzing CFD calculation results.

해양플랜트용 H-120 등급 방화 댐퍼의 성능 실험 (Performance Experiment of H-120 Class Fire Damper for Offshore)

  • This study propose CAE analysis of fire damper and design of the damper control system. Through the design of the damper system for ANSYS-CFX heat transfer. As a result of the analysis, continuance equation of the damper control. Climate system. Finaily, We have obtained a fire damper solution by using orthogonal array. The fire damper of the set of fixture and alveolus are made by using a CAE software. Also, the optimum design offshore structures. The new H-120 class fire damper was designed. In the near future, fire resistance test was carried out to obtain class H-120 thermal insulation of fire dampers according to a hydrocarbon fire conditions. The test results showed that the insulation of the damper blade was an important factor in the fireproof performance of fire dampers concerning the coaming length minimum 500mm on the unexposed side as specified test standard.

CFD Analysis of Cavitation Phenomena in Mixed-Flow Pump

  • This paper deals with the CFD analysis of cavitating flow in the mixed-flow pump with the specific speed of 1.64 which suffers from a high level of noise and vibrations close to the optimal flow coefficient. The ANSYS CFX package has been used to solve URANS equations together with the Rayleigh-Plesset model and the SST-SAS turbulence model has been employed to capture highly unsteady phenomena inside the pump. The CFD analysis has provided a good picture of the cavitation structures inside the pump and their dynamics for a wide range of flow coefficients and NPSH values. Cavitation instabilities were detected at 70% of the optimal flow coefficient close to the NPSH3 value (NPSH3 is the net positive suction head required for the 3% drop of the total head of the pump).

  • Many suggestions is offered to resolve global warming. Tidal current generation is producing power by switched tidal difference sea water horizontal fluid flow produced by tidal difference using rotor and generator. So, change the angle of inflow condition due to the entrance of efficiency are considered. We therefore investigated three dimensional flow analysis and performance evaluation using commercial ANSYS-CFX code for horizontal axis turbine. Then We also studied three dimensional flow characteristics of a rotating rotor and blade surface streamlines around a rotor. As a result, Cp was highest at TSR 5.5, especially the larger changes in the angle of inflow condition decreased efficiency.

  • The effect of tip clearance is important part for turbomachinery performance. Tip leakage flow due to tip clearance is mixed with passage vortex. Large amount of loss is generated at the mixing region and overall performance of turbomachinery is reduced. Numerical calculation of the 1st stage rotor of GE7FA gas turbine is carried out to investigate tip clearance effect on performance, pitchwise variations of velocity profiles, pressure distributions and loss coefficients. A commercial code, CFX-TascFlow is validated in this study.

Numerical investigation of tip clearance effects on the performance of ducted propeller

  • Tip clearance loss is a limitation of the improvement of turbomachine performance. Previous studies show the Tip clearance loss is generated by the leakage flow through the tip clearance, and is roughly linearly proportional to the gap size. This study investigates the tip clearance effects on the performance of ducted propeller. The investigation was carried out by solving the Navier-Stokes equations with the commercial Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) code CFX14.5. These simulations were carried out to determine the underlying mechanisms of the tip clearance effects. The calculations were performed at three different chosen advance ratios. Simulation results showed that the tip loss slope was not linearly at high advance due to the reversed pressure at the leading edge. Three type of vortical structures were observed in the tip clearance at different clearance size.

  • When a natural frequency of the trailing edge of a wing is close to a vortex shedding frequency, an amplitude of the edge oscillation becomes maximal; it makes intensive noise called singing. Motion of the trailing edge may also feedback to the vortex shedding so that self-sustained oscillation appears, and a resonant frequency is locked in some interval of the speed of the incident flow. In this study, we first evaluate main features of oscillating characteristics of the wing. Second we simulate fluid-structure interaction of the wing with a flap using a commercial code, ANSYS-CFX, and investigate lift characteristics in a frequency domain.
