컴퓨터기반평가(Computer Based Assessment: CBA) 인지유형과 컴퓨터 효능감, 성격, 학업성취와의 관계 (Associations among Perceptional Typology with Computer Based Assessment, Computer Efficacy, Personality, and Academic Achievement)

  • 본 연구는 컴퓨터기반 평가(CBA)의 효율적 사용 제고와 수업설계를 위하여 학생들의 CBA 인지유형과 학업성취도, 성격 5대 유형, 컴퓨터 효능감과의 관련성을 알아보았다. 이를 위해 온라인학습기반 시스템(LMS)을 바탕으로 CBA를 도입하고 있는 한 대학에서 CBA 수업을 50%이상 수강한 4학년 학생 50명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, CBA 인지유형별로 학업성취도 (4년 평균학점)와 5대 성격 유형 간에는 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, CBA 적응추구 유형의 학업성취도(GPA)가 가장 높았고 CBA 불만형/지필선호형의 평균평점이 가장 낮았다. 이와 비슷하게 성격 측면에서 CBA 적응추구형이 CBA 불만형보다 성실성 점수가 유의미하게 높았다. 또, 성실성, 친화성, 신경성이 높을수록 평균학점이 높게 나타났다. 본 연구는 CBA인지유형과 학업성취도, 성격 등의 연관성에 관한 최초의 시도라는 연구 의미가 있다.

Cloning and Sequence Analysis of the xyIL Gene Responsible for 4CBA-Dihydrodiol Dehydrogenase from Pseudomonas sp. S-47

  • Pseudomonas sp. S-47 is capable of catabolizing 4-chlorobenzoate (4CBA) as carbon and energy sources under aerobic conditions via the mesa-cleavage pathway. 4CBA-dioxygenase and 4CBA-dihydrodiol dehydrogenase (4CBA-DD) catalyzed the degradation af 4CBA to produce 4-chlorocatechol in the pathway. In this study, the xylL gene encoding 4CBA-DD was cloned from the chromosomal DNA of Pseudomonas sp. S-47 and its nucleotide sequence was analyzed. The xylL gene was found to be composed of 777 nucleotide pairs and to encode a polypeptide of 28 kDa with 258 amino acid residues. The deduced amino acid sequence of the dehydrogenase (XylL) from strain S-47 exhibited 98% and 60% homologies with these of the corresponding enzymes, Pseudomonas putida mt-2 (XyIL) and Acinetobacter calcoaceticus (BenD), respectively. However, the amino arid sequences show 30% or less homology with those of Pseudomonas putida (BnzE), Pseudomonas putida Fl (TodD), Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes KF707 (BphB), and Pseudomonas sp. C18 (NahB). Therefore, the 4CBA-dihydrodiol dehdrogenase of strain S-47 belongs to the group I dehydrogenase involved in the degradation of mono-aryls with a carboxyl group.

PdRu/Carbon Composite 촉매를 이용한 테레프탈산의 수소화 정제 (Hydropurification of Crude Terephthalic Acid over PdRu/Carbon Composite Catalyst)

  • CTA(crude terephthalic acid)의 수소화 정제 반응이 고온의 회분식반응기에서 PdRu/CCM(carbon-carbonaceous composite material) 촉매 상에서 수행되었다. 반응 시간에 따른 In(4-CBA; 4-carboxybenzaldehyde)의 의존도가 선형성을 보임에서 수소화 정제는 1차 속도론을 따름을 알 수 있었다. 촉매량에 따른 반응 속도의 선형성에서 조사된 반응 조건은 정제 반응을 잘 대변할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 반응 전환율이 증가하면(4-CBA가 감소하면) 고체 및 액체의 p-toluic acid(p-tol)의 농도는 증가하였으나 벤조산(BA)의 농도는 크게 변하지 않았다. 4-CBA 농도가 대략 0.15% 이하일 때에는 PTA의 AT(alkalitransmittance)는 4-CBA농도에 반비례하며 이는 4-CBA의 수소화에 따라 발색물질도 제거 됨을 보여 준다. 4-CBA농도가 약 0.2% 이상이면 AT는 일정하였는데 이는 4-CBA 자체는 발색 효과를 가지지 않음을 보여준다. (0.3%Pd-0.2%Ru)/CCM 촉매는 0.5%Pd/C 상업 촉매에 비해 초기 활성은 낮으나, 상업 공장 반응기에서 사용한 후에는 오히려 큰 잔존 활성을 보였고 PdRu/CCM 촉매는 루테늄 함량이 약 $0.2{\sim}0.35%$ 일 때 활성의 상승효과를 보였다. PdRu/CCM 촉매는 0.5%Pd/C 상업 촉매를 대체할 가능성이 높음을 알 수 있다.

Competency Assessment Tool and Faculty Assessors for Competency-based Pharmacy Education: A Preliminary Study of Its Applications and Advantages

  • Background: Recently, the Korean Association of Pharmacy Education has been focusing on competency-based education (CBE) and has established required areas of competencies to improve the graduation competency. However, competency-based assessment (CBA) tools for implementing CBE have not yet been developed for faculty members and students to successfully access the assessment tests. Moreover, the faculty members in charge in pharmacy schools have encountered various barriers in recruiting individuals with integrated clinical experience to act as virtual patients. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the advantages and limitations of applying CBA tool and faculty assessors in the development of CBE to ensure the reliability of this assessment. Methods: Utilizing CBA tool, the students' communication skills and styles were assessed. students and faculty assessors were surveyed to evaluate the advantages and limitations of the CBA tool. Results: 8 assessors and 96 students participated in this study. 100% (8/8) of the faculty assessors and 77.4% (65/84) of the students reported that CBA tool is valuable to assess and improve student's ability. 90.5% (76/84) of the students felt confident in applying knowledge to patient-centered care. CBA tool can be a valuable for the instructors in identifying the competency level of students but can also be associated with limitations in implementation to ensure the objectivity and reliability of the CBA. Conclusions: The CBA tool can be valuable in assessing the level of students' competency. Faculty assessors have the advantage of well-prepared themselves for patient roles, so that the time and cost required may be minimized.

연탄재 처리 환경미화원의 분진 및 호흡성 석영 노출 (Occupational exposure to dust and respirable quartz in coal briquettes ash handling worker)

  • The purpose of this study is to assess respirable crystalline silica (RCS) exposure levels in workers who collect and dispose used coal briquette ash (CBA) in sanitation companies that are subcontracted by one medium-sized local government on the collection of municipal household waste (MHW), and to analyze the quartz content in CBA. When the CBA powder that undergone specialized pretreatment in several steps were subjected to mineral identification and quantitative analysis using X-ray diffraction (XRD), it was found that quartz represented 18%, and in addition, mullite, and plagioclase were included. For two CBA collectors, samples were collected by the personal sampling evaluation method. After respirable dust was collected in accordance with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health 7500 method, the concentration of quartz was analyzed using XRD. Meanwhile, a portable real-time dust monitor (Sidepak AM520, TSI Inc., USA) was also used to observe the dust exposure level for each time zone and job task. The RCS exposure level of one worker was as high as 0.024 mg/㎥, which was the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) Threshold Limit Values (TLV) level. The other worker also exhibited a concentration of 0.013 mg/㎥, which was more than half of TLV. The Sidepak results revealed that the work of collecting CBA and loading it onto a vehicle was hardly exposed to the dust of a significant level. It was found, however, that the work of transferring the collected CBA to a container through a conveyor belt was exposed to a very high average respirable dust concentration of 2.238 mg/㎥. The results of this study confirmed that quartz, which is crystalline silica and a carcinogen, is contained in CBA, one of municipal household waste (MHW), in high concentration. It was also confirmed that workers are exposed to high RCS concentrations while transferring collected CBA into a container. Although each local government in South Korea handles CBA in different ways, it is imperative to investigate the CBA exposure level of sanitation workers and improve their working conditions.

Dechlorination of 4-Chlorobenzoate by Pseudomonas sp. DJ-12

  • 4-Chlorobiphenyl-degrading Pseudomonas sp. DJ-12 was able to degrade 4-chlorobenzoate(4CBA), 4-iodobenzoate, and 4-bromobenzoate completely under aerobic conditions. During. the degradation of 4CBA by Pseudomonas sp. DJ-12, chloride ions were released by dechlorination and 4-hydroxybenzoate was produced as an intermediate metabolite. The NotI-KNA fragments of pKC157 containing dechlorination genes hybridized with the gene encoding 4CBA:CoA dehalogenase of Pseudomonas sp. CBS3 which is responsible for the hydrolytic dechlorination of 4CBA. These results imply that Pseudomonas sp. DJ-12 degrades 4CBA to 40hydroxybenzoate via dechlorination as the initial step of its degradativ pathway. The genes responsible for dechlorination of 4CBA were found to be blcated on the chromosomal DNA of Pseudomonas sp. DJ-12.

정보화 비용/이익 분석요인에 대한 인식도 연구 (Perception in IT Investment Cost/Benefit Analysis)

  • This study was conducted to analyze Korean companie's perception in IT investment cost-benefit analysis(CBA), and to see if various user group's perception is different. Literature was reviewed to classify and define variables in IT CBA, and questionnaire was distributed to CEOs, CIOs, IT managers, and general managers in Korean companies. Respondent's priority ranking in IT CBA was shown to be tangible benefit, direct cost/intangible benefit, and indirect cost/risk. Data analysis showed that Korean companie's actual practice in CBA was generally aligned with their perception. User group's(Executives vs. mangers, and IT managers vs. general managers) perception was not shown to be statistically different. Survey result also showed that IT CBA was not well practiced in the companies although respondents perceive the analysis very important. These findings suggest that more education and practical experience is needed for Korean companies to perform IT CBA.

4-Chlorobenzoic Acid 분해유전자의 클로닝과 유전학적 특성 (Cloning and Characterization of the Genes Responsible for Degradation of 4-Chlorobenzoic Acid)

  • 자연환경으로부터 분리한 DJ-12 균주는 4CBA 및 4CB를 비롯하여 그 대사산물인 4OHBA와 PCA를 분해하여 단일 탄소원으로 이용하였다. DJ-12 균주에서 4CBA 및 4CB분해유전자는 약 65kb 크기의 plasmid인 pDJ121에 존재하였으며, 이 pDJ121은 ExoRI, HindIII, SalI 그리고 PslI의 절단부위를 각각 9, 11, 10 그리고 19개씩 가지고 있었다. EcoRI으로 처리한 pDJ121 절편을 pKT230에 ligation 시켜 재조합 vector인 pDK450을 만들었으며, 이를 Pseudomonas putida KT2440에 transformation 시켜 얻은 cloned cell 에서는 4CBA 분해유전자가 잘 발현되었다.

석탄 저회로 제조한 인공토양의 기능성 건설재 적용 가능성 (Application for Functional Construction Materials of Artificial Soil Manufactured Using Coal Bottom Ash)

  • To recycle coal bottom ash(denoted here as CBA) generated from thermal power plants as a functional construction material, artificial soil(denoted as AS) containing CBA with dredged soil(denoted as DS) at a ratio(wt%) of 70 : 30 was manufactured by means of material engineering with sintering in a rotary kiln at $1125^{\circ}C$ using a green body formed via extrusion processing. The properties of the soil mechanics of the AS and the as-received CBA were analyzed and compared. Compaction testing results determined an optimum moisture content of the AS and CBA at 18%. During these tests, the maximum dry unit weights of the materials were similar, at 1.57 and 1.58 $t/m^3$, respectively. The compressive strength levels of the AS and CBA concrete specimens were 5.1 and 5.4 $t/m^3$, respectively, both of which increased after materials engineering processing. In a consolidation test, the compression index of the AS and CBA was found to be $0.114{\pm}0.001$ in both cases. The values were similar regardless of the materials engineering processes, but during the consolidation of AS, its coefficient was higher than that of the CBA materials.
