As multi-application smart cards have become very attractive mobile devices, card users are able to add and to remove card-applets after card issuance. However, because of constrained memory on a smart card, it is necessary to manage card-resident applets. In this paper, we propose an adaptive applet management algorithm in order to recommend card-resident applets which can be removed. This algorithm's goal is to select card-resident applets in a way minimizes the number of applet downloads. To serve this purpose, our algorithm identifies the applets that are most likely to be executed again, and based on that, decides which should be kept in the memorY and which can be discarded.
Purpose: To find out the appropriate probability distribution of credit card usage behavior by considering the relationship among income, expenditure and credit card usage amount. Such relationship is enabled by Korea's especially high penetration of credit card. Method: Goodness-of-fit test and effect size statistic W were used to identify the distribution of income and credit card usage amount. A simulation model is introduced to generate the credit card transactions on individual user level. Result: The three data sets for testing had either passed the chi-square test or showed low W values, meaning they follow the exponential distribution. And the exponential distribution turned out to fit the data sets well. The r values were very high. Conclusion: The credit card usage behavior, denoted as the counts of users by usage amount band, follows the exponential distribution. This distribution is easy to manipulate, has a variety of applications and generates important business implications.

Recently bank card number recognition plays an important role in improving payment efficiency. In this paper we propose a new bank-card number identification algorithm. The proposed algorithm consists of three modules which include edge detection, candidate region generation, and recognition. The module of 'edge detection' is used to obtain the possible digital region. The module of 'candidate region generation' has the role to expand the length of the digital region to obtain the candidate card number regions, i.e. to obtain the final bank card number location. And the module of 'recognition' has Convolutional deep learning Neural Network (CNN) to identify the final bank card numbers. Experimental results show that the identification rate of the proposed algorithm is 95% for the card numbers, which shows 20% better than that of conventional algorithm or method.

Financial fraud has been increasing along with credit card usage. Magnetic stripe cards have vulnerabilities in that credit card information is exposed in plaintext and cardholder verification is untrustworthy. So they have been replaced by a smart card scheme to provide enhanced security. Furthermore, the FinTech that combines the IT with Financial product is being prevalent. For that reason, many mobile device based payment schemes have been proposed for card present transaction. In this paper, we propose a virtual credit card number payment scheme based on public key system for efficient authentication in card present transaction. Our proposed scheme is able to authenticate efficiently in card present transaction by pre-registering virtual credit card number based on cardholder's public key without PKI. And we compare and analyze our proposed scheme with EMV.
This study analyzed consumer public complaint behaviors and the satisfaction of complaint handling among credit card users who availed of credit card services. Relatively little research has been done in this area, despite the obvious importance of understanding and improving credit card market conditions. The purpose of this study was to examine consumer compliant behaviors with a focus on public actions, such as voice responses and the third party actions among credit card users. With the goal of providing consumers with more positive expectations of credit card companies' complaint handling process, this study investigated the status of public actions and the negative effect of complaints on the overall satisfaction of post-complaint behavior toward credit card services. The responses from 1,000 credit card users were analyzed using descriptive analysis, factor analysis, multi-logit analysis, and Heckman selection estimate. The analysis provided three major results: (1) perceived service quality among credit card users was conceptualized into groups such as responsiveness, innovation, company, additional service, and fee, (2) perceived service qualities, age, residential area, employment status, and subjective economic status had significant effect on public compliant action behaviors, and (3) unidimensional factors resulting from post-complaint behaviors were analyzed and several variables, such as period of credit card use, average amount used, and perceived service quality had significant effects on the degree of satisfaction associated with complaint handling in terms of credit card services. Several implications and directions for further research are discussed.
Smart Card is currently more popular in mobile communication, and smart card with java card platform becomes a standard choice. Java card has a problem that it gets lost working data when power is off. Transaction is the idea to solve a problem of data loss, but it accepts only one transaction process, and other transaction process need to hold until the current working transaction is finished. This might be a factor to drop the Java card's performance. In this paper, we define a rule of dual-lock which can run transaction at multiple transaction buffer as a method for a better java card performance, and we suggest this rule to improve a capability of transaction process. From this research, we are able to improve the data stability, reduce the java card transaction delay time, and get a higher processing speed of java card.

In May 2012, the collaboration of Hana Bank, top financial service company, and SK Planet, top telecommunication service provider, introduced a new credit card that was filled with all-in-one benefits into the market. Leveraging strong infrastructure of two companies, each top in its own industries, the awareness and preference of 'Club SK Card' brand rapidly increased to about 25% in less than one year. Moreover, this new card was enthroned in the most sold credit card of year 2012, accounting for a market share of 7.2% in the credit card market and more than 80% in the mobile credit card market. To make these results possible, 'Club SK Card' marketing team developed an effective marketing communication strategy which followed the 6M model. The mission of the marketing communication strategy was simple and clear. It was to deliver the card's inherent strengths on consumer benefits that come from the support of subsidiary and affiliated companies of SK Planet. According to OK Cashbag data, the marketing communication team selected the appropriate target consumers and approached them directly, inducing actual purchase behavior. The target consumers received straightforward messages about 'Club SK Card' and were led to join in the new membership at their most frequently visited supermarket or franchise restaurant. The straightforward communication message embedded in an eye-catching commercial ad with a hook song accompanied with a dance was delivered via public media. The ad became so popular that many other television programs quoted or made parodies of the ad. Courtesy of the commercial ad, the brand name disseminated rapidly and widely among the public. In October 2012, an ingenious planning and persistent implementation of the communication strategy results 'Club SK Card' to be ranked top in brand awareness as well as advertising preference tests.
Objective : This research is focused on understanding the current status of the Health Smart Card already in use in other advanced countries. This research will analyze the current status of the medical institutions Health Smart Card system adoption process and its effects, and provide a basis for future policy decisions for the effective adoption and diffusion of a Health Smart Card system, in the medical field, through the completed research and analysis. The purpose of this study is to identify the degree to which the card catalog in a university library serves its users and to provide useful information for the design of conversion from card catalog to online catalog. From August 19th to September 16th 1995, 278 users of Duksung Women's University Library were randomley selected and surveyed in terms of card catalog use, success rate of card searching, and catalog use training received. Major findings are as follows: 1. Taking into considerations the fact that Library users tended to use more heavily oriental card catalog$(61.8\%)$ than western card catalog$(8.3\%)$ or classification card catalog$(26.3\%)$, oriental card catalog should be designed to improve its search function of the catalog. 2. It was found that the university library card catalog was not easy to use by $49.3\%$ of the users of Duksung University Library. 3. One of main reasons why the card catalog is hard to use is that there is no subject card to which users can access for subject searching. Besides, users have difficulties in locating appropriate classification numbers for subjects which users are interested in. 4. When success rate is defined as finding appropriate cards in catalog boxes, the success rate was reported to be $87.0\%$. 5. The major access points of known items which library users utilized mostly were author$(18.3\%)$ and title$(74.5\%)$. 6. In case of translated versions of foreign materials, original author name cards instead of pronounced original name card written in Korean were given to them as access points. $79.9\%$ of library users of Duksung Women's University insisted that both original and pronounced author name writ':en in Korean should be given as access points to foreign authors for the sake of user's convenience. 7. Formal training programs for card catalog use were found not to be sufficient. Small group informal training courses should be offered to users who need to get information for catalog use by library staffs. 8. Considering the trend that orders of access points have been changed from title, author and subject in card catalog to title, keyword, and author in online catalog, the existing card catalog of Duksung Women's University is expected not to meet future users' needs for subject searching unless the funcions of subject searching of catalog is improved.
