Parametric Design of a Car Audio Based on Configuration Design Method (구성설계 방법을 이용한 차량용 오디오의 파라메트릭 설계)

  • Engineers need to reduce the product design time interval and deal with frequent design changes. For this purpose a design expert system has been developed where a 3D CAD system is used for the visualization of a design layout especially the car audio design. This expert system is based on the configuration design methodology, one of the design methods which emulates the engineering design process, and the parametric design method. The design methods and heuristic knowledge are represented as rules, and design parts are represented as objects with properties. After an inference process, design parameters are extracted and they are used leer the parametric design. This study focused on the shape visualization of product components in the preliminary design phase.

Real-Time Implementation of Acoustic Echo Canceller Using TMS320C6711 DSK

  • The interior of an automobile is a very noisy environment with both stationary cruising noise and the reverberated music or speech coming out from the audio system. For robust speech recognition in a car environment, it is necessary to extract a driver's voice command well by removing those background noises. Since we can handle the music and speech signals from an audio system in a car, the reverberated music and speech sounds can be removed using an acoustic echo canceller. In this paper, we implement an acoustic echo canceller with robust double-talk detection algorithm using TMS-320C6711 DSK. First we developed the echo canceller on the PC for verifying the performance of echo cancellation, then implemented it on the TMS320C6711 DSK. For processing of one speech sample with 8kHz sampling rate and 256 filter taps of the echo canceller, the implemented system used only 0.035ms and achieved the ERLE of 20.73dB.

  • In this paper, computational analysis and experiments of subwoofer for car audio speaker system were performed and discussed to analyze acoustical phenomena for subwoofer. Ported enclosure system with subwoofer were manufactured and provided for test and simulation purposes. Subwoofer with single voice coil and double voice coil were identified by linear and nonlinear parameter identification method for loudspeaker parameters. For high power inputs to subwoofer, sound pressure levels were compared according to input powers with linear and nonlinear loudspeaker models. For subwoofer system with high power nonlinear speaker model was showed to be adequate to describe the behaviour of loudspeaker.

RF Receiver design for Satellite Digital Audio Reception (Antenna)

  • This paper describes a design for a RF receiver to receive satellite digital audio service. The RF receiver designed in this study is a planar structure that is easy to install on the rooftop of a car and is compact in size. In addition, it can be applied to certain commercial models because it has low noise and high gain characteristics. The impedance bandwidth of antenna is 17.8%(415MHz), and the axial ratio is below 3dB as good properties for the bandwidth of 40MHz which is a satellite digital audio service band. Also, it had a broad radiation beamwidth of $95.41^{\circ}$ in H-plane and $117.45^{\circ}$ in E-plane. From the results of the field test of satellite digital audio service reception for the RF receiver, it demonstrated good C/N rate(10.2dB).

  • The performance of speech recognition in car environment is severely degraded when there is music or news coming from a radio or a CD player. Since reference signals are available from the audio unit in the car, it is possible to remove them with an adaptive filter. In this paper, we present experimental results of speech recognition in car environment using the echo canceller. For this, we generate test speech signals by adding music or news to the car noisy speech from Aurora2 DB. The HTK-based continuous HMT system is constructed for a recognition system. In addition, the MMSE-STSA method is used to the output of the echo canceller to remove the residual noise more.

And it adds the multiple functions which are various traffic and travel information, DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) TV, game, movie and music. It is evolving as a killer application device of Car Infotainment (Information & Entertainment). On the other hand, the technical barrier which is pushing into the market is low and the competition is intense in process of time. In the market situation, the design differentiation is embossed with important element. In this case study, focused on inkel which specialized in Audio/Video launching into the Car Navigation market with the new brand 'WideTouch', we tried to provide successful product design strategy based on proactive research on the market for the design differentiation through the target segmentation of the new generation, middle-aged and a woman consumer.

  • In this paper, we implement the embedded speech recognition system to support various application services such as audio and video control using speech recognition interface on cars. The embedded speech recognition system is implemented and ported in a DSP board. Because MIC type and speech codecs affect the accuracy of speech recognition. And also, we optimize the simulation and test environment to effectively remove the real noises on a car. We applied a noise suppression and feature compensation algorithm to increase an accuracy of sppech recognition on a car. And we used a context dependent tied-mixture acoustic modeling. The performance evaluation showed high accuracy of proposed system in office environment and even real car environment.
