  • In this paper, we propose an Internet of Things (IoT) platform for ocean observation buoys. The proposed system consists of various sensor modules, a gateway, and a remote monitoring site. In order to integrate sensor modules with various communications interfaces, we propose a controller area network (CAN)-based sensor data packet and a protocol for the gateway. The proposed scheme supports the registration and management of sensor modules so as to make it easier for the buoy system to manage various sensor modules. Also, in order to extend communication coverage between ocean observation buoys and the monitoring site, we implement a multi-hop relay network based on a mesh network that can provide greater communication coverage than conventional buoy systems. In addition, we verify the operation of the implemented multi-hop relay network by measuring the received signal strength indication between buoy nodes and by observing the collected data from the deployed buoy systems via our monitoring site.

  • Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is a distributed Sensor network whose terminals are sensors that can sense and check the environment. Sensors are typically battery-powered and deployed in where the batteries are difficult to replace. Therefore, maximize the consumption of node energy and extend the network's life cycle are the problems that must to face. Low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) protocol is an adaptive clustering topology algorithm, which can make the nodes in the network consume energy in a relatively balanced way and prolong the network lifetime. In this paper, the novel multi-objective LEACH protocol is proposed, in order to solve the proposed protocol, we design a multi-objective coupling algorithm based on bat algorithm (BA), glowworm swarm optimization algorithm (GSO) and bacterial foraging optimization algorithm (BFO). The advantages of BA, GSO and BFO are inherited in the multi-objective coupling algorithm (MBGF), which is tested on ZDT and SCH benchmarks, the results are shown the MBGF is superior. Then the multi-objective coupling algorithm is applied in the multi-objective LEACH protocol, experimental results show that the multi-objective LEACH protocol can greatly reduce the energy consumption of the node and prolong the network life cycle.

  • Until now, a study on a ubiquitous sensor network has been mainly concentrated in the areas of sensor nodes, and as a results, technologies related with sensor node were greatly developed. Despite of many achievements on research and development for a sensor node, a ubiquitous sensor network may failed to establish the actual service environment because variety of restrictions. In order to provide a actual service using a ubiquitous sensor networks applied to many results on research and development for a sensor nodes, a study on a wired/wireless composite router must be carried out. However a study on a wired/wireless composite router is relatively very slow compared with the sensor node. In this study, developed a high-performance router platform supporting IPv6 that can provide high-speed wired/wireless interface and QoS, and it can provide the multimedia service Interlocking the wireless sensor network and the Internet network. To analysis a given network environment and to develop the appropriate hardware and software in accordance with this requirement.

  • Free-space optical interconnection networks can be classified into two types, space variant and space invariant, according to the degree of space variance. In terms of physical implementations, the degree of space variance can be interpreted as the degree of sharing beam steering optics among the nodes of a given network. This implies that all nodes in a totally space-invariant network can share a single beam steering optics to realize the given network topology, whereas, in a totally space variant network, each node requires a distinct beam steering optics. However, space invariant networks require mechanisms for distinguishing the origins of incoming signals detected at the node since several signals may arrive at the same time if the node degree of the network is greater than one. This paper presents a signal source encoding scheme for distinguishing incoming signals efficiently, in terms of the number of detectors at each node or the number of unique wavelengths. The proposed scheme is solved by developing a new parallel genetic algorithm called distributed asynchronous genetic algorithm (DAGA). Using the DAGA, we solved signal distinction schemes for various network sizes of several topologies such as hypercube, the mesh, and the de Brujin.

  • In recent years energy consumption has become a main concern for network development, due to the exponential increase of network traffic. Potential energy savings can be obtained from a load-adaptive scheme, in which a day can be divided into multiple time periods according to the variation of daily traffic patterns. The energy consumption of the network can be reduced by selectively turning off network components during the time periods with light traffic. However, the time segmentation of daily traffic patterns affects the energy savings when designing multiperiod logical topology in optical wavelength routed networks. In addition, turning network components on or off may increase the overhead of logical topology reconfiguration (LTR). In this paper, we propose two mixed integer linear programming (MILP) models to design the optimal logical topology for multiple periods in IP-over-WDM networks. First, we formulate the time-segmentation problem as an MILP model to optimally determine the boundaries for each period, with the objective to minimize total network energy consumption. Second, another MILP formulation is proposed to minimize both the overall power consumption (PC) and the reconfiguration overhead (RO). The proposed models are evaluated and compared to conventional schemes, in view of PC and RO, through case studies.

  • Background: In breast cancer, estrogen receptors have been demonstrated to interact with transcription factors to regulate target gene expression. However, high-throughput identification of the transcription regulation relationship between transcription factors and their target genes in response to estradiol is still in its infancy. Purpose: Thus, the objective of our study was to interpret the transcription regulation network of MCF7 breast cancer cells exposed to estradiol. Methods: In this work, GSE11352 microarray data were used to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Results: Our results showed that the MYB (v-myb myeloblastosis viral oncogene homolog [avian]), PGR (progesterone receptor), and MYC (v-myc myelocytomatosis viral oncogene homolog [avian]) were hub nodes in our transcriptome network, which may interact with ER and, in turn, regulate target gene expression. MYB can up-regulate MCM3 (minichromosome maintenance 3) and MCM7 expression; PGR can suppress BCL2 (B-cell lymphoma 2) expression; MYC can inhibit TGFB2 (transforming growth factor, beta 2) expression. These genes are associated with breast cancer progression via cell cycling and the $TGF{\beta}$ signaling pathway. Conclusion: Analysis of transcriptional regulation may provide a better understanding of molecular mechanisms and clues to potential therapeutic targets in the treatment of breast cancer.

  • This paper addresses cancer prediction based on radial basis function neural network optimized by particle swarm optimization. Today, cancer hazard to people is increasing, and it is often difficult to cure cancer. The occurrence of cancer can be predicted by the method of the computer so that people can take timely and effective measures to prevent the occurrence of cancer. In this paper, the occurrence of cancer is predicted by the means of Radial Basis Function Neural Network Optimized by Particle Swarm Optimization. The neural network parameters to be optimized include the weight vector between network hidden layer and output layer, and the threshold of output layer neurons. The experimental data were obtained from the Wisconsin breast cancer database. A total of 12 experiments were done by setting 12 different sets of experimental result reliability. The findings show that the method can improve the accuracy, reliability and stability of cancer prediction greatly and effectively.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of applying NEMO in PMIPv6, and propose a method to support network mobility. When an MR enters a PMIPv6 domain, an MAG recognizes the MR to access using the BU message. And the MAG makes a tunnel between the MAG and the MR. The MR do not make tunnel fundamentally except for handover. Therefore, the PMIPv6 protocol needs to modify the original algorithm and the BCE data filed. However, the proposed method can use NEMO without protocol modification. To show verification, we implement our proposed algorithm with added BCE data filed using C program, and configure a testbed network. Through a network connectivity procedure, we can see that our proposed method can support network mobility within the PMIPv6 network.

  • In this paper, we proposed a neural network controller with a fuzzy compensator which compensate a output of neural network controller. Even if learn by neural network controller, it can occur a bad results from disturbance or load variations. So in order to adjust above case. we used the fuzzy compensator to get an expected results. And the weight of main neural network can be changed with the result of learning an inverse model neural network of plant, so a expected dynamic characteristics of plant can be got. In order to confirm a performance of the proposed controller, we implemented the controller using the DSP processor and applied in a hydraulic servo system. And then we observed an experimental results.
