Text File Region Management on Grids (그리드 시스템에서 텍스트 파일 영역 관리)

  • In the areas of CAE, CAD and CAO integration & automation technology, the word 'File Wrapping' means a virtualization of TEXT files that supports variables-based I/Os like variable assignments in programming languages. This File Wrapping process is one of the cornerstones of CAE, CAD and GAO integration & automation, and the performance of File Wrapping process, which is depending on the sire of a TEXT file to be accessed and the number of regions and their distribution, has a critical effect on the total performance of the CAE, CAD and CAO integration & automation systems. In this paper, we define TEXT File Region Management which generalizes the main functions of the File Wrapping process, and describe a prototype of TEXT file Region Management which is implemented as a Grid service. After that, the validity of the proposed model and the TEXT File Region Management service are discussed with evaluation results of the prototype.

  • 최근 성능 및 시장규모에 있어서 급성장하고 있는 워크스테이션에 대해서 이의 발생기원과 발전과정 및 기술동향에 대해서 알아보고, 이들중에서 현재 널리 사용되고 있는 외국의 5개 회사의 상용 CAE 워크스테이션과 당 연구실에서 개발한 CAE 워크스테이션 EDAS(Electronic Design Automation System)와의 기능 및 특징을 비교분석하였다. 외국의 5개 CAE 소프트웨어 회사는 Mentor Graphics, Daisy Systems, Valid Logic Systems, VLSI Technology Inc., Phase Three Logic Inc. 이다.

Connection of PDM System and Web-Based CAE Supporting System for Small and Medium Enterprises (중소기업을 위한 제품정보관리 시스템과 웹기반 CAE 지원 시스템의 연동)

  • A web-based Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) supporting system is connected with a Product Data Management (PDM) system for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) suffering from the lack of building hardware, software and related experts. An analysis of current business models and worksite requirements provides an improved process model and data to be shared between the PDM system and the CAE supporting system. Since all engineering tasks such as geometric modeling, mesh generation, static stress and modal analysis, and fatigue durability analysis are automated in the CAE supporting system, the user in charge of the CAE have only to configure the concerned values of design variables and result data through the web page. The existing Change Management module of the PDM system is modified for seamless data exchange, i.e. sending the Engineering Change Order (ECO) data to the CAE supporting system and receiving the CAE result data bark. The hi-directional data transfers between the PDM system and the CAE supporting system is made possible by adaptors bused on the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). The current approach will be very helpful for SMEs that only have the PDM system and have no adequate infrastructure for CAE.

  • 오늘날 제조업에 있어서는 시장의 다양화, 원가절감 및 리드타임의 단축이라는 대내외적 요구에 부응할 수 있는 기술 생산체재의 확립이 요구되고 있다. 이에 따라 설계 및 기술변경(Engineering Change)에따른 원가상승을 막기 위해 CAE(Computer aided engineering), CAD(Computer aided design)의 도입을 서두르게 되었고 CAD데이타의 효율적 이용에 의한 가공 및 생산적 측면에서 CAM(Computer aided manufacturing)의 도입도 검토하게 되었다. 본 논문은 이러한 개념의 발상동기와 이를 뒷받침하기 위한 한국 아이 비 엠이서 제공하는 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어를 소개하고 공장자동화를 위한 기술 생산 통합시스템의 구축이라는 측면에서 아이 비 엠이 추구하는 방향을 검토하고 있다.

  • The planning of part feeder and other manufacturing automation equipments is almost always underestimated. Planning ahead for those crucial pitfalls can permit steps to take to minimize heir impacts, especially if the problems can be discovered in the planning phase, not on the shop floor. Planning process is an engineering process, namely a series of trade-offs. The effective trade-offs in the shortest amount of time can be possible with the help of a computer-aided ngineering (CAE) technique. The main parts of CAE fur part feeder are database system of fabricated workpiece parts, part feeders, part feeder components. In this study, a planning process of part feeder is presented. Especially, a systematic analysis of workpiece parts and part feeders is performed for the design of databases of CAE system.

A Study on the Structural Analysis & Design Optimization Using Automation System Integrated with CAD/CAE (통합된 CAD/CAE 자동화 System을 이용한 구조강도해석 및 설계최적화에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a CAD/CAE integrated optimal design system is developed, in which design and analysis process is automated using CAD/CAE softwares for a complex model in which the modeling by parametric feature is not easy to apply. Unigraphics is used for CAD modeling, in which the process is automated by using UG/Knowledge Fusion for modeling itself and UG/Open API function for the other functions respectively. Structural analyses are also carried out automatically by ANSYS using the imported parasolid model. The developed system is applied for the PLS(Plasma Lighting System) consisting of more than 20 components, which is a next generation illumination system that is used to illuminate stadium or outdoor advertizing panel. The analyses include responses by static, wind and impact loads. As a result of analyses, tilt assembly, which is a link between upper and lower body, is found to be the most critical component bearing higher stresses. Experiment is conducted using MTS to validate the analysis result. Optimization is carried out using the software Visual DOC for the tilt assembly to minimize material volume while maintaining allowable stress level. As a result of optimization, the maximum stress is reduced by 57% from the existing design, though the material volume has increased by 21%.

A Study on Automation Process Based on WEB for Circuit and PCB EM Analysis (회로해석 및 PCB 전자장 분석을 위한 웹 기반 자동화 프로세스에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a study on automation method for the circuit/EM (Electro-Magnetic) simulation is carried out to analyze effectively the SI/PI (Signal Integrity/Power Integrity) issues which occur on circuits and/or PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards). For the automation of the circuit/EM simulation, algorithms performing each process of the SI/PI analysis automatically (such as ports setup, circuit definition and SI/PI evaluation) are developed; thereby automation system for the SI/PI analysis is constructed with the algorithms. The automation of the circuit/EM simulation is accomplished in the environment of the C/S (Client/Server) architecture in order to reduce resources such as high cost computers demanded for the SI/PI analysis. The automation method for the SI/PI analyses proposed in this paper reduces effort, time, and cost spent on the environment setup for simulation and the SI/PI analysis process. In addition, the proposed method includes automation of the documenting process, which organizes, records and displays the SI/PI analysis results automatically for users.

Observer-based Fault Tolerant Control for Constrained Switched Systems

  • An observer-based fault tolerant control (FTC) method is proposed for constrained switched systems (CSS) with input constraints. A family of Lyapunov-based bounded controllers are designed to ensure that, whenever actuator faults occur at the dwell time period of each continuous mode, the mode is always within its corresponding stability region. A set of switching laws are designed to guarantee the asymptotic stability of the overall CSS. The fixed stability regions on which the FTC method is based are also relaxed by the proposed variable stability regions. An example of CPU processing illustrates the effectiveness of proposed method.

  • To increase the competitiveness of domestic manufacturers products, CAE system, process and fast delivery of development information and implementation of retrieval system introduced for manufacturers is necessary situation For this purpose, this study analysed instance to build integrated design simulation system that provide design automation, modular design, design standards, automation of quality verification and design knowledge. Also, we discuss that improve design of the new product and increasing the satisfaction of our customers. Completed development of simulation systems are the basic steps, and pilot operation about new product. During pilot operation, the systems is improved. Through this process, the experimental data accumulated to increase the effectiveness of the simulation, and improve the utilization. Therefore, this study have many theoretical, practical value for growing global company.

  • A V belt pulley is widely used in automotive industry. More than tow pulleys in one automobile are used, such items as crankshaft, water pump, air-con compressor and power steering pump. Although the shape and usage of pulleys are very simple, the design evaluation of a pulley design is difficult because the load conditions and the installation environment are complicated. So, we formulated the design evaluation for the V belt pulley by using CAE system, which enables to develop a design automation system. By using this system, an engineer can evaluate a pulley design easily without any painstaking effort, such as consideration of the complicated loads and CAE activities. Also the system helps to accumulate the design experience of a company, which guides the optimum design based on experience.
