CAD system development for design of limit gauges (限界 게이지의 自動 設計에 관한 硏究)

  • The CAD system for design and drawing of limit gauges was constructed and developed. This system was made by Visual Basic program. Using this system, drawings together with concerned data for the manufacturing of limit gauges are generated on the screen, file and printer. The data base was constructed by referring handbooks, textbooks, relevant standards and regulations. This system was proved a powerful tool for design and drawing of limit gauges by actual applications. The output drawings from this system are in good agreement with the drawings and data of the concerned standards and regulations.

  • 지금까지 제조업에서는 CAx(CAD, CAE, CAM) 시스템을 중심으로 설계와 생산의 효율성 증대를 이뤄왔다. 최근에는 제품을 중심으로 PLM(Product Lifecycle Management), 디지털 메뉴팩처링(Digital Manufacturing) 등의 개념을 도임하고 있으며, 이를 기반으로 설계와 생산의 효율성 증대뿐만 아니라, 디지털 제품을 중심으로 하는 제품 개발환경 구축을 통해 제조업의 불변과제 해결과 경쟁력 확보를 위해 노력하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 함정 설계와 정보 관리를 위한 프로세스 및 프레임워크 연구를 수행한다. 그리고 함정획득에 SBA 개념을 적용하기 위한 인프라스트럭쳐에 대해 연구를 수행한다. 객체 지향 개발방법론의 요구사항 분석법에 기반을 둔 SBA(Simulation-Based Acquisition) 프레임워크 정의 방법론을 정립하고 이를 바탕으로 3 차원 함정제품모델 중심의 획득업무 분석을 통해 SBA-NS 아키텍처와 함정제품정보(NSPI : Naval Ship Product Information) 참조모델을 정의하고자 한다.

  • 지금까지 시물레이션 기반의 인공지능을 활용한 디스플레이 응용 프로그램이 소개하였다. AI와 시뮬레이션 기술이 어떻게 융합되어 적용되는지, 그리고 디스플레이 연구 및 개발 분야에 어떻게 활용할 수 있는지 설명하였다. [11, 12] 앞서 언급한 대로, 최근 하드웨어의 발전 속도는 매우 빠르며, 이러한 발전은 비용 절감과 함께 고성능 하드웨어에 접근하는 것이 매우 쉬워지고 있다. 게다가, 디스플레이 산업의 역사를 통해 40년 이상 누적된 방대한 양의 관련 데이터가 존재한다. 그리고 수학적 물리학의 발전과 함께 거의 모든 주요 방정식에 대한 수치 해석 모델이 개발되고 있다. 지금은 디스플레이 분야의 전문가들이 대학과 대학원에서 공부한 관련 지식에만 국한되지 않다. 이제는 이렇게 빠르게 발전하는 하드웨어 기술, 물리학과 수학을 기반으로 한 데이터 과학, 그리고 디스플레이 분야 지식을 조화롭게 결합하여 적용하는 것이 중요하다. 뿐만 아니라, 이러한 융합 기술을 사용하여 디자인 최적화가 이루어져야만 앞으로 시장에서 성공할 제품을 만들 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Optimization of Down-the-Hole Hammer Using Experimental Design Method (실험설계법을 이용한 다운더홀(DTH) 해머의 최적화)

  • Research and development of mineral-resource-related products has progressed with the increased need to develop mineral resources. The DTH hammer is a resultant product. However, owing to particular work conditions of underground drilling, it is difficult to obtain direct data on the DTH hammer. A DTH drill rig requires a significant amount of money and time for actual testing. This thesis aimed to resolve this problem by using CAE. In a previous paper, the structure of the DTH hammer and its movement were analyzed, and a standard model based on simulation was proposed. Then, experimentation and comparison verification were conducted. In this paper, by using an experimental design method, we derived a control factor of the impact force and efficiency of the DTH hammer and attempted to optimize the design. As a result, the impact energy increased by 14.9%, and the efficiency increased by 3.3%.

  • Exhausting fossil fuel and increasing concern of air pollution have brought on the change of the focus of developing new vehicles from performance to fuel economy and emission. The gasoline engines adopting the naturally aspirated way use the throttle-body for engine load control. Therefore, its pumping loss increases more than that of the diesel engine, and also mostly operating in a partial load condition has bad influence on fuel economy and emission. In these days, the continuous variable valve timing system and variable induction system are adopted in order to improve fuel consumption and emission. In this study, we optimize the runner length and operate region of variable induction system to simulataneously improve the performance, fuel economy, and emission of gasoline engine with employing GT-Power as a CAE tool for engine analysis and PIAnO as PIDO tool for process integration and design optimization.

A study on the chatter vibration characteristics simulation for cutting tooling of turning machine tool (터닝센터에서의 툴링과 채터 특성 시뮬레이션 연구)

  • Machining performance is often limited by chatter vibration at the tool-workpiece interface. Chatter vibration is a type of machining self-excited vibration which originated from the variation in cutting forces and the flexibility of the machine tool structure. Cutting tooling method is one of major factor to chatter vibration in turning process. Even though lots of cutting tooling methods are developed and used in machining process, precise analysis of cutting tooling effect in view of chatter vibration behavior. This study presents numerical and experimental approaches to verify and effects of various cutting tooling geometry and clamping method on the onset of chatter vibration. Acquired knowledge from this study will apply the optimal geometry design of cutting tooling and adjusting of machining process.

  • Injection molding process is one of the most important methods to produce plastic parts with high efficiency and low cost. Today, injection molded parts have been increased dramatically the demand for high strength and quality applications. In this study, In-line skates are made of Al alloy and plastic materials to replace the frame for the optimization process is all about. I interpreted through mold design, Injection molding process that minimizes the runner and the gate dimension will determine the size and shape. Runner and gate dimensions of change based on availability of the product, I'll discuss the injection molding. This report investigates that the optimum injection molding condition for minimum of shrinkage. The FEM Simulation CAE tool, Moldflow, is used for the analysis of injection molding process.

  • A diesel engine is equipped with a turbocharger for providing more power at a low engine speed region by supplying charge air to combustion chambers. The turbocharger makes it possible to satisfy stringent emission regulations and customers' demand of enjoying the fun to drive by increasing engine performance. However, the turbocharger has the disadvantage of making BPF(Blade Passing Frequency), hissing, surge, whistle, and blow noises. Among them, reducing the blow noise, a narrow-band noise(a general range : 1800~2000Hz), is possible by using a resonator that controls the narrow frequency band governing the resonance in the intake system. In this study, the optimum location of the resonator is found by employing Boost as a CAE(Computer Aided Engineering) tool and is confirmed by experiments of an engine dynamo test and a real vehicle test.

Light-weight Design of Automotive Spring Link Based on Computer Aided Engineering (컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용한 자동차용 스프링 링크의 경량화 설계)

  • It is well known that the targeted fuel efficiency could only be achieved by more than 40% reduction of the vehicle weight through improved design and extensive utilization of lightweight materials. In order to obtain the goal of the weight reduction of automobiles, the researches about lighter and stronger spring link have been studied without sacrificing the safety of automotive components. In this study, the weight reduction design process of spring link could be proposed based on the variation of von-Mises stress contour by substituting an aluminum alloys (A356) having tensile strength of 245 MPa grade instead of SAPH440 steels. In addition, the effect of the stress and stiffness on shape variations of the spring link were examined and compared carefully. It could be reached that this approach could be well established and be contributed for light-weight design guide and the safe design conditions of the automotive spring link development.

A Study on Design of Vacuum Silo for Batch Treatment System for Dredged Soil (준설토 일괄처리시스템을 위한 진공사이로 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a small movable batch treatment system for dredging soil deposited in a rain water tube is proposed; further, a vacuum silo sorting separation device with a vacuum silo, first-stage sorting separator, and conveyor is designed. The vacuum silo sorting separation device also consists of a storage tank, transferring screw, vacuum gate, screen bar, screen bar cleaner, and vacuum discharging device. In view of the fact that the flow of drawn air in the storage tank is a major factor influencing the sorting separation performance, the optimum shape of the tank is determined by CFD flow analysis. In addition, by using CAE structure analysis, the safety of a storage tank made of boards is examined. The specifications of the vacuum silo sorting separation device are determined by conducting mechanical and dynamic simulations of the driving mechanism of the vacuum silo sorting separation device through 3D-CAD modeling. Following this study, we will design a drum-screen-type second sorter, a decanter-type dehydration device, and waste water tank and pump as a secondary device. Further, on the basis of this design, we will construct a prototype model and carry out a field test.
