Fomesafen is a selective herbicide, and used to control annual and perennial broad-leaf grass on soybean and fruit fields in USA and China, but not introduced in Korea yet. So, MRL (Maximum Residue Level), and analytical method of fomesafen were not establishment in Korea. Therefore, this experiment was conducted to establish a determination method for fomesafen residue in crops using HPLC-UVD/MS. Fomesafen residue was extracted with acetone from representative samples of five raw products which comprised hulled rice, soybean, apple, green pepper, and Chinese cabbage. The extract was diluted with saline water, and dichloromethane partition was followed to recover fomesafen from the aqueous phase. Florisil column chromatography was additionally employed for final clean up of the extract. The fomesafen was quantitated by HPLC with UVD, using a Shiseido CAPCELL-PAK UG C18 column. The crops were fortified with fomesafen at 3 levels per crop. Mean recovery ratio were ranged from 87.5% for a 0.4 ppm in hulled rice to 102.5% for a 0.4 ppm in apple. The coefficients of variation were ranged from 0.6% for a 2.0 ppm in hulled rice to 7.7% for a 0.04 ppm in green pepper. Quantitative limit of fomesafen was 0.04 mg/kg in representative 5 crop samples. A LC/MS with selected-ion monitoring was also provided to confirm the suspected residue. Therefore, this analytical method was reproducible and sensitive enough to determine the residue of fomesafen in agricultural commodities.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sodium hypochlorite and steam autoclaving on the cyclic fatigue of nickel-titanium endodontic files. Two types of files with a .06 taper and #30 were used, $K3^{(R)}$ (SybronEndo, Glendora, California, USA) and Hero $642^{(R)}$(Micro-Mega, BesanCon, France). The files were divided into 6 experimental groups containing 10 files each group depending the soaking time in 6% sodium hypochlorite solution and number of cycles of steam autoclave. After sterilization, a cyclic fatigue test was performed on each file, and the fracture time was recorded in seconds. The control group underwent the cyclic fatigue test only. After the test, the surface characteristics of the files were observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). All groups containing the Hero 64~ files showed a similar cyclic fatigue fracture time. However, the cyclic fatigue fracture time with the $K3^{(R)}$ files was significantly shorter in groups which were treated with sodium hypochlorite than in the control group (P < 0.05), SEM revealed both Hero $642^{(R)}$ and $K3^{(R)}$ files to have significant corrosion on the file surface in groups treated with sodium hypochlorite, compared with the sharp and regular blades of the control group. $K3^{(R)}$ files showed more corrosion than the Hero $642^{(R)}$ files. Bluntness of the blades of the $K3^{(R)}$ file was observed in groups treated with steam autoclave. Although there was no obvious destruction on the surface of steam autoclaved Hero $642^{(R)}$ files, slight bluntness was observed. Sterilizing with a steam autoclave is much less destructive to $K3^{(R)}$ files than sodium hypochlorite. The longer time exposed to sodium hypochlorite, the more destructive pattern was shown on the blades of the files. Therefore, when using sodium hypochlorite solution, the exposure time should be as short as possible in order to prevent corrosion and increase the cyclic fatigue fracture time.

Large colorless single crystals of faujasite-type zeolite with diameters up to 200 μm have been synthesized from gels with the composition of 3.58SiO2:2.08NaAlO2:7.59NaOH:455H2O:5.06TEA:1.23TCl. Two of these, colorless octahedron about 200 μm in cross-section have been treated with aqueous 0.1 M TlC2H3O2 and KNO3 in order to prepare Tl+- and K+-exchanged faujasite-type zeolites, respectively, and then determined the Si/Al ratio of the zeolite framework. The crystal structures of |Tl71|[Si121Al71O384]-FAU and |K53Na18|[Si121Al71O384]-FAU per unit cell, a = 24.9463(2) and 24.9211(16) A, respectively, dehydrated at 673 K and 1 × 10-6 Torr, have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques in the cubic space group Fd m at 294 K. The two single-crystal structures were refined using all intensities to the final error indices (using only the 905 and 429 reflections for which Fo > 4σ(Fo)) R1/R2 = 0.059/0.153 and 0.066/0.290, respectively. In the structure of fully Tl+-exchanged faujasite-type zeolite, 71 Tl+ ions per unit cell are located at four different crystallographic sites. Twenty-nine Tl+ ions fill site I' in the sodalite cavities on 3-fold axes opposite double 6-rings (Tl-O = 2.631(12) A and O-Tl-O = 93.8(4)o). Another 31 Tl+ ions fill site II opposite single 6-rings in the supercage (Tl-O = 2.782(12) A and O-Tl-O = 87.9(4)o). About 3 Tl+ ions are found at site III in the supercage (Tl-O = 2.91(6) and 3.44(3) A), and the remaining 8 occupy another site III (Tl-O = 2.49(5) and 3.06(3) A). In the structure of partially K+-exchanged faujasite-type zeolite, 53 K+ ions per unit cell are found at five different crystallographic sites and 18 Na+ ions per unit cell are found at two different crystallographic sites. The 4 K+ ions are located at site I, the center of the hexagonal prism (K-O = 2.796(8) A and O-K-O = 89.0(3)o). The 10 K+ ions are found at site I' in the sodalite cavity (K-O = 2.570(19) A and O-KO = 99.4(9)o). Twenty-two K+ ions are found at site II in the supercage (K-O = 2.711(9) A and O-K-O = 94.7(3)o). The 5 K+ ions are found at site III deep in the supercage (K-O = 2.90(5) and 3.36(3) A), and 12 K+ ions are found at another site III' (K-O = 2.55(3) and 2.968(18) A). Twelve Na+ ions also lie at site I' (Na-O = 2.292(10) and O-Na-O = 117.5(5)o). The 6 Na+ ions are found at site II in the supercage (Na-O = 2.390(17) A and O-Na-O = 113.1(11)o). The Si/Al ratio of synthetic faujasite-type zeolite is 1.70 determined by the occupations of cations, 71, in two single-crystal structures.

The nutraceutical role of fermented omija (Schizandra chinensis) beverage (FOB) was determined through the analysis of fibrinolytic and alcohol metabolizing activities, nitrite scavenging activity, and angiotensin converting enzyme and $\alpha$-glucosidase inhibitory effects. Firstly, FOB increased fibrinolytic activity in a dose-dependent manner and indicated angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitory activity of 94.8% at 20% FOB (0.6 mg/mL). In addition, the inhibitory activities of FOB on $\alpha$-amylase and $\alpha$-glucosidase were determined to be 100% at 100% FOB (3 mg/mL) and 49% at 60% FOB (1.8 mg/mL), respectively. Nitrite scavenging activity of FOB was about 96.1%, 72.3%, and 68.3% on pH 1.2, 3.0, and 6.0 at 100% FOB, respectively. To determine influence of FOB on alcohol metabolism, the generating activities of reduced-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) by alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) and acetaldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) were measured. Facilitating rate of ADH activity was 70.3% at 50% FOB, but ALDH activity was not affected. These results revealed that FOB has a strong alcohol metabolizing activity, and fibrinolytic and nitrite scavenging activities and exhibits the angiotensin converting enzyme, $\alpha$-amylase, and $\alpha$-glucosidase inhibitory activities.
The Hadano Basin is located at a distance of about 70kms and 60kms from Tokyo and Yokohama and lies in the south-west part of the Kanto region in Japan. The basin area, which correspoends to the catchment of the Kaname River, is about areal size of 60.7$\textrm{km}^2$ and extends about length of 8kms in E-W direction and about width of 5kms in N-S direction (Fig.1). The Hadano basin is filled with thick pile of the alluvum from deposits composed of volcanic materials, mostly came from the Hakone Volcano and overlain by Fuji Volcanic ashes. Fluvial deposits form the good aquifer, therefore water resources of Handano City has been largely depending upon the eroundwater. Urbanization and industrialization of the basin has been rapid in the last thirty years, after activation of "Factory Attraction Policy of Hadano City" in 1956. Growth in population and number of factory due to urbanization changed the land-use pattern of the basin rapidly and increased the water demands. Therefore, Hadano City exploited a new source of water supply, and have introduced the prefectureal waterworks since 1976. On the other hand, the rapid urbanization has brought about the pollution of streams in the basin by domestic sewage and industrial waste water. Diffusion rate of sewerage systems in Hadano City is 38% in 1993. In ordcr to examine the impact of anthropogenic factors on river environments, the author took up the change of land-use and diffusion area of sewerage as parameters, and performed field surveys on water discharge and quality. The survey has been made at upstream and downstream of the main stream regularly per month, to get informati ons about the variation of discharge and water quality aiong the stream and its diurnal fluctuation. Annual variation has been analyzed based the data from Hadano City Office. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Stream discharge has been increasing by urbanization (Fig.3). Water quality (C $l^{-10}$ , N $H^{+}$$_{ 4}$-N, BOD) has been improving gradually after the application of sewerage service, yet water pollution load at the lower station has increased than that at the upper one because of the larger anthropogenic discharge volumes (Fig.4). 2. Corrclation coefficient of discharges between upper and lower was 0.81-0.92. Pollutant loads of the R. Kamame after the confluence with R. Kuzuha grew up by 2.4-3.7 times as compared with its upper reaches, and it increased to 3.7-6.9 times after the confluence with the R. Muro (Fig.5). 3. The changes of water quality along the stream can be divided into two groups (Fig.6a). First: water quality of the R. Kaname and R. Shijuhachisse is becoming worse towards the lower reaches because the water from branches are polluted. Second: water quality are improved in the lower where spring and small branch streams supply clear water, for example R. Mizunashi, R. Muro and R. Kuzuha. 4. Measured discharge at the upper station in the R. Shijuhachisse is 0.153㎥/sec, and about 55% of this is recharged until it reaches to the lower point. The R. Mizunashi has a discharge of 1.155㎥/sec at the upper point, is recharged 0.24㎥/sec until the midstream and groundwater spring 0.2㎥/sec at the lower reaches. R. Kuzuha recharged all the mountain runoff (0.2㎥/sec) at the upper reaches. The R. Muro is supplied by many springs and the estimated discharge of spring was 0.47㎥/sec (Fig.6b). 5. The purpose of this study was to investigate the regional differences in anthropometric measurement, dietary behavior and nutrient intake among the nation-wide college students participating in a nutritional education program via internet. The subjects were 1614 college students (male: 752, female: 862) and divided into 4 regional groups. A cross-sectional survey was conducted using a self administered questionnaire, and the data were collected via internet or by mail. The nutrient intake data collected from food record were analyzed by the Computer Aided Nutritional Analysis Program. Data were analyzed by SPSS 10.0 program. Average age of male and female college students were 23.6 years and 21.0 years, respectively. Most of the male and female college students had poor eating habits, such as unbalanced meals and skipping meals. In particular, more than 60% of the male college students in Chungcheong and Gyeongsang areas had irregularity of meal time. Female students in Seoul and Incheon areas showed significantly higher consumption frequency of yellow and green leafy vegetables compared to Chungcheong and Gyeongsang areas. Female students in Seoul, Incheon and Chungcheong areas showed significantly higher consumption frequency of milk and milk products compared to Gyeongsang area. Calorie, vitamin A, calcium and iron intakes of the male students and calorie, vitamin A, vitamin $B_2$, niacin and calcium intakes of female students were lower than the Korean RDA. Female students in Incheon area showed significantly higher vitamin C and iron intakes compared to the other areas. These results provide a nation-wide information on dietary behavior and nutrient intake among Korean college students.

The effects of Aspergillus oryzae rice koji (AO) and Asp. kawachii rice koji (AK) as enzyme preparations, on the quality characteristics of rice mash were invested in this study. The amount of AORM (Asp. oryzae rice mash) and AKRM (Asp. kawachii rice mash) were 50, 100, 200% (w/w) based on 100 g of rice. Firstly, in the titer measurement result on the ${\alpha}$-amylase and glucoamylase activities of AO and AK. On the other hand, the acid protease activity has values of 31.56 unit for AO and 849.17 unit for AK. The sugar solid of the AORM and AKRM groups significantly increased as the rice koji ratio on rice was higher, which were shown with values as high as 17.63~20.53 and 17.51~19.28, respectively. Glucose and maltose were detected for free sugar of AORM. Only glucose was found in AKRM. Citric acid, malic acid, and lactic acid were detected as the organic acid of KORM; oxalic acid, citric acid, and succinic acid were detected for AKRM, and the content increased as the rice koji ratio on rice increased (P<0.05). From the above result, rice koji with useful mold is expected to be used broadly in foods by looking at the fact that it has starch degradation ability and organic acid producibility.

This study is performed to evaluate the effects of purple Kohlrabi addition on the quality properties and stability characteristics of hamburger patties during storage. The patties were prepared by adding 0% (N), 3.3% (K1), 6.6% (K2), and 10% (K3) of chopped purple Kohlrabi. Each patty was tested in triplicate and assigned to one of the four storage periods: 0, 5, 10, or 15 days. Addition of Kohlrabi decreased the protein and lipid contents, however, the ash and moisture contents were significantly increased. The total amino acid contents of N, K1, K2, and K3 were $15.34{\pm}1.02$, $14.57{\pm}1.28$, $15.10{\pm}1.17$, and $16.70{\pm}1.23$ mg/100 g, respectively. Palmitic acid was the most abundant among the saturated fatty acids, while oleic acid was the most abundant unsaturated fatty acids among the four groups. The water holding capacity value and cooking loss were not significantly different among the patties. In the textural characteristics, the addition of Kohlrabi increased the cohesiveness and chewiness values, but did not affect the hardness and springiness values of the patties. In the sensory evaluation, an addition of 10% Kohlrabi had the best score in color, flavor, and total acceptability. The pH of the patties decreased longer period storage; however, the total microbial counts, thiobarbituric acid (TBA) value and volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) content increased during storage. The TBA value and VBN content of the patties containing 10% Kohlrabi were lower than those of the N. Kohlrabi addition decreased the b (yellowness) and a (redness) values, and did not affect the L (lightness) value. Thus, this result suggests that adding Kohlrabi of 10% can be applied to patties for its functionality.
This study was carried out to compare the physicochemical characteristics and sensory quality of Sogokju (Korean traditional rice wine) prepared with waxy rice varieties. Among tested waxy rice varieties, highest protein contents (8.11%) was observed in cv. Sangjuchal, and highest whiteness and L-value were observed in cv. Hwaseonchal, while no significant differences in gelatinization temperature could be observed among tested varieties, and cv. Boseokchal and Sinseonchal exhibited higher breakdown viscosity compared to the others. The alcohol contents of Sogokju with waxy rice varieties ranges from 13.0 to 13.4%, and the brix degree and turbidity were within the range of 20.5 to 24.6 $^{\circ}Bx$, and 0.0344 to 0.0530, respectively. The highest L-value (6.90), b-value (l.45), pH (4.79), total acidity (0.8384%), and glucose content (10.843 g/100 ml) could be observed in Sogokju made with cv. Sangjuchal. The organic acids such as succinic acid, malic acid, citric acid and oxalic acid could be detected in Sogokju. Although no variety-dependant differences in appearance, aroma, and taste could be found in sensory evaluation, Sogokju made with cvs. Sinseonchal, Haepyeongchal, and Hwaseonchal showed higher overall quality than Sogokju made with cv. Dongjinchal, which is most widely used for Sogokju used for Sogokju production nowadays.
The growth and contents of anthocyanins and ascorbic acid in lettuce(Lactuca sativa L., 'Jeokchima') as affected by supplemental UV-A LED irradiation under different light quality and photoperiod conditions were analyzed in this study. Five light qualities, namely B (blue LED), R (red LED), BUV (blue LED+UV-A LED), RUV (red LED+UV-A LED) and Control (white fluorescent lamps) with photoperiods of 12/12 hours (day/night), 16/8 hours, or 20/4 hours were provided to investigate the effects of light quality and photoperiod on the growth and accumulation of anthocyanins and ascorbic acid in lettuce leaves. As measured 28 days after transplanting, the number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, leaf area, shoot fresh weight and dry weight of lettuce were significantly affected by light quality and photoperiod. The number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, leaf area, shoot fresh weight and dry weight of lettuce grown under R treatment increased with increasing light period. By contrast, leaf development was inhibited, but chlorophyll content increased, under B treatment. Supplemental UV-A irradiation significantly decreased leaf length, leaf width, leaf area and shoot fresh weight. Anthocyanins in lettuce increased significantly with decreasing dark period under B treatment. A synergistic effect of supplemental UV-A LED irradiation on anthocyanins accumulation was found for lettuce leaves grown under R treatment but not B treatment. Ascorbic acid in lettuce was greatly affected by photoperiod. Ascorbic acid content at BUV and RUV treatments increased by 20-30% compared to without UV-A LED irradiation. From these results, it was concluded that growth and contents of anthocyanins and ascorbic acid in lettuce are significantly affected by supplemental UV-A LED irradiation. The results obtained in this study will be informative for efforts to improve the nutritional value of leafy vegetables grown in plant factories.

③ NDSL에서 제공하는 콘텐츠를 보도, 비평, 교육, 연구 등을 위하여 정당한 범위 안에서 공정한 관행에
합치되게 인용할 수 있습니다.
④ NDSL에서 제공하는 콘텐츠를 무단 복제, 전송, 배포 기타 저작권법에 위반되는 방법으로 이용할 경우
저작권법 제136조에 따라 5년 이하의 징역 또는 5천만 원 이하의 벌금에 처해질 수 있습니다.
제 14 조 (유료서비스)
① 당 사이트 및 협력기관이 정한 유료서비스(원문복사 등)는 별도로 정해진 바에 따르며, 변경사항은 시행 전에
당 사이트 홈페이지를 통하여 회원에게 공지합니다.
② 유료서비스를 이용하려는 회원은 정해진 요금체계에 따라 요금을 납부해야 합니다.
제 5 장 계약 해지 및 이용 제한
제 15 조 (계약 해지)
회원이 이용계약을 해지하고자 하는 때에는 [가입해지] 메뉴를 이용해 직접 해지해야 합니다.
제 16 조 (서비스 이용제한)
① 당 사이트는 회원이 서비스 이용내용에 있어서 본 약관 제 11조 내용을 위반하거나, 다음 각 호에 해당하는
경우 서비스 이용을 제한할 수 있습니다.
- 2년 이상 서비스를 이용한 적이 없는 경우
- 기타 정상적인 서비스 운영에 방해가 될 경우
② 상기 이용제한 규정에 따라 서비스를 이용하는 회원에게 서비스 이용에 대하여 별도 공지 없이 서비스 이용의
일시정지, 이용계약 해지 할 수 있습니다.
제 17 조 (전자우편주소 수집 금지)
회원은 전자우편주소 추출기 등을 이용하여 전자우편주소를 수집 또는 제3자에게 제공할 수 없습니다.
제 6 장 손해배상 및 기타사항
제 18 조 (손해배상)
당 사이트는 무료로 제공되는 서비스와 관련하여 회원에게 어떠한 손해가 발생하더라도 당 사이트가 고의 또는 과실로 인한 손해발생을 제외하고는 이에 대하여 책임을 부담하지 아니합니다.
제 19 조 (관할 법원)
서비스 이용으로 발생한 분쟁에 대해 소송이 제기되는 경우 민사 소송법상의 관할 법원에 제기합니다.
[부 칙]
1. (시행일) 이 약관은 2016년 9월 5일부터 적용되며, 종전 약관은 본 약관으로 대체되며, 개정된 약관의 적용일 이전 가입자도 개정된 약관의 적용을 받습니다.
