좌심실우심방 단락치험 2 (Left ventricular right atrial canal: report of 2 cases)

  • As OHS is prevalent on whole world, LV-RA shunts once thought as quite rare congenital heart disease are reported frequently. Two cases of LV-RA shunts were operated at N.M.C. in 1983: One of them combined VSD, the other membranous ventricular septal aneurysm protruding into right atrial chamber. In case 1, which was diagnosed correctly, right atriotomy was enough to close the defect under ECC, but in case 2, which was misdiagnosed as ASD preoperatively, atriotomy was added to ventriculotomy. The LV-RA defects were closed by U-shaped direct suture with Teflon felt pledget. Postoperative course was uneventful in both of them.

고밀 주거환경에서의 사회적 소통을 위한 계획 방향 연구 (A Study on the Planning Direction for Social Communication in a High-density Residential Environment)

  • The purpose of this study is to present the direction of the plan to transform the residential complex into a space that can provide an open residential environment that can lead to social communication and exchange without being closed to the urban residential environment, especially in the apartment complex environment, which is becoming more dense. As a result of the Openness analysis of the 'Codan Shinonome Canal Court', the overall accessibility was good in terms of space utilization, and the openness was low in terms of the spatial composition, which is a physical environment due to the dense block type. When looking at the overall openness of the Codan Sinonome complex in terms of analysis by block, the corrected openness index (C.O.I) for all six blocks was 0.245, the corrected accessibility index (C.A.I) was 1.447 and the openness composite index (O.C.I) was assessed at 1.692. This was due to the formation of high-density block-type urban dwellings and the introduction of S-shaped streets and the layout of low-rise urban support facilities and commercial facilities. The Codan Sinonome Canal Court, which is considered an "open city residence," quantitatively confirmed that it embodies macro-space structure and human-scale space environment even in high-precision environments.

Two New Records of Thaliacea (Chordata: Tunicata) in Korea

  • Two pelagic thaliacean tunicates, Pyrosoma atlanticum and Cyclosalpa quadriluminis, with bioluminescent organ, were collected from Jejudo Island and Korea Strait. In this study, the Pyrosomatida, which is holoplanktonic colonial tunicate with ascidiozooids embedded in a common test, and to which P. atlanticum belongs, is reported for the first time in Korea. The Cyclosalpa in the Salpida has a bar-shaped alimentary canal beside the branchial bar in both oozooids and blastozooids. Cyclosalpa quadriluminis is added to make Cyclosalpa species in Korea from four to five (C. affinis, C. bakeri, C. polae, C. sewelli, and C. quadriluminis). As a result of this study, 27 species of thaliaceans have been reported from Korea.

Uitrastructure of Cryptoglena pigra from Korea

  • Cryptoglena pigra Ehrenberg from Korea was a photosynthetic euglenoid alga, which had typical characteristics of the Euglenales. The ultrastructure examination of C. pigra revealed certain features which were distinctly photosynthetic euglenoid: one U-shaped chloroplast with thylakoid membranes; two paramylon grains appressed to both sides of the chloroplast; eyespot associated with the chloroplast but not part of it. Three flagellar roots were associated with the two basal bodies. The four-membered dorsal root arose from the dorsal body and extended anteriorly following the reservoir membrane. At the base of the reservoir the dorsal band was nucleated by the dorsal root and it ran anteriorly between the reservoir membrane and eyespot. The dorsal band was continued with the microtubules of the canal and the pellicle. The singlet dorsal microtubules at the transition level arranged into doublets by a successive linkage of the existing adjacent microtubules, and the doublets rearranged into the cytoskeletal microtubules that were continuous with four microtubules in pellicles. Finally, the sixteen ridges gave rise to the pellicular ridges. The five to six-membered ventral root extended anteriorly into a cytoplasmic pocket through the reservoir and lined a cytoplasmic pocket.

The First Report of Two Feather Mites (Acariformes: Astigmata) from the Eastern Spot-billed Duck, Anas zonorhyncha (Anseriformes: Anatidae), in Korea

  • Two feather mites, Brephosceles anatina Dubinin, 1951 (Analgoidea: Alloptidae) and Freyana anatina (Koch, 1844) (Pterolichoidea: Freyanidae), have been reported for the first time from the Eastern Spot-billed Duck, Anas zonorhyncha Swinhoe, 1866 (Anseriformes: Anatidae), in Korea. The genera Brephosceles Hull, 1934 and Freyana Haller, 1877 are new records of Korean fauna. The morphology of B. anatina is distinguished from three species of the lambda species group in having legs IV extending the level of setae e2 with the distal end of the tarsus in males, and the incision on the posterior margin of the hysteronotal shield triangular-shaped and distinctly longer than its greatest width in females. Freyana anatina is distinguished from F. nyrocae and F. obliquasetae in having setae ps1 with a rectangle bend in homeomorphic males, and setae ps1 obliquely ovate and divergent, with the inner canal going obliquely across the membranous part of these setae in females. This study provides morphological redescriptions of both feather mite species supplemented with partial sequences of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I(COI), based on specimens collected in Korea.

강담돔 (Oplegnathus punctatus)의 난 발생 및 자치어 형태발달 (Egg Development and Morphology of Larvae and Juveniles of Spotted Knifejaw, Oplegnathus punctatus)

  • 강담돔의 수정난을 부화시켜 사육하면서 난 발생 과정과 자치어 발달과정의 형태변화를 관찰하였다. 수정란은 구형의 무색 투명한 분리 부성란이었고, 1개의 유구를 가지고 있었다. 난의 크기는 1.01~1.15 mm 범위였다 (평균 $1.08{\pm}0.10mm$, n=20). 사육수온은 $22.5{\sim}24.5^{\circ}C$ (평균 $23.0{\pm}0.05^{\circ}C$), 염분농도는 33.5~34.5‰ (평균 $34.0{\pm}0.05$‰)의 범위를 유지시켜 주었다. 난 발생 과정은 수정 25분 후에 난막과 난황이 분리되면서 배반이 형성되었다. 수정 후 55분에는 난할이 2개로 분리되어 2세포기에 달하였다. 수정 후 20시간 50분에는 배체가 머리 부분부터 난막을 뚫고 나오면서 부화하였다. 부화 직후의 난황자어는 전장 2.10~2.20 mm (평균 $2.15{\pm}0.07mm$, n=10)로 입과 항문은 열려 있지 않았고, 난황과 유구는 부화 2일 후 흡수되었다. 부화 후 12일째 중기자어는 전장 4.43~4.80 mm(평균 $4.62{\pm}0.26mm$)로 꼬리지느러미는 부채꼴 모양으로 발달하였고, 흑색소포는 소화관 위쪽으로 침착하였다.
