  • The purpose of this study is to develop new process named "hydrogen peroxide dissolution method". This process used hydrogen peroxide, which is harmless to human body and oxidize molybdenum wire selectively.The advantages of hydrogen peroxide dissolution method were no discharge of noxious matter when dissolution of molybdenum wire which used as the center supporter, reactions occur in room temperature and easy to recover dissolved molybdenum. This study was aimed at gathering the basic data of molybdenum wire dissolution-recovery process and proposes the reaction condition of molybdenum wire dissolution-recovery process and the factors influencing those reactions. The results were as follows:1. In the dissolution of molybdenum wire, the early condition of reaction was $15^{\circ}C$, and the temperature condition of state was $32^{\circ}C$. 2. 1) In the GSL-60W type, P.W.(Piece weight) was 11.89mg, C.R. was $65.6\Omega$. 2) In the FL-20W type, P.W. was 11.60mg, C.R. was $4.6\Omega$. 3. The molybdenum of process water was treated of a precipitation after dry and after stagnation in the one day, the molybdenum of upper water was treated of precipitation after dry and after congelation.

  • Effect of a flux composition on weld metal toughness in submerged arc welding with 60kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$ grade C-Mo type wires was investigated and interpreted in terms of weld metal microstructure and hardenability. Flux workability was also studied by characterizing a weld bead profile. Compared to other weld metals, .weld metal used alumina basic flux with nickel showed lowest oxygen content, highest hardenability and the most acicular ferrite. The highest impact toughness of that weld metal, however, was attributed to the tough matrix due to the nickel rather than to the larger amount of acicular ferrite. Manganese silicate flux had better workability than alumina basic flux, showing broader welding conditions resulting in a depth-to-width ratio of 0.5. The composition of oxides in the weld metal was dependent on the flux composition, showing MnO-SiO$_2$-TiO in manganese silicate flux and MnO-SiO$_2$-Al$_2$O$_3$-TiO in alumina basic flux. MnO-SiO$_2$composition in both oxides was similar to a tephroite.

  • In the tungsten industry as light source material, tungsten filament which used as light source material could form after molybdenumwire which used as the center supporter for coil shape tungsten wire was removed. This process uses hydrogen peroxide, Ozone and UV(Ultraviolet)Lamp, for the quantity of hydrogen peroxide decrease. The results were as follows : 1.   • Various types of steel, namely, 0.35C, 0.2C-Cr, and 0.2C-Cr-Mo steels, were quenched and tempered by high-frequency induction heat treatment. The type, size, and spheroidization of the carbides varied depending on the tempering temperatures ($450{\sim}720^{\circ}C$). During the tempering process, the carbide was precipitated in the martensite matrix. The 0.35C, 0.2C-Cr, and 0.2C-Cr-Mo steels contained carbides that were smaller than 120 nm. The carbide was spheroidized as the tempering temperature increased. Owing to the fine microstructure and spheroidization of the carbides, all three steels had a high tensile strength as well as yield ratio and reduction of area. In the case of the 0.2C-Cr steel, the use of Cr as an alloying element facilitated the precipitation of alloyed carbides with an extremely small particle and resulted in an increase in the spheroidization rate of the carbides. As a result, a large reduction of area was achieved (>70%). The 0.2C-Cr-Mo steel had the highest tensile strength because of the high hardenability that can be attributed to the presence of alloying elements (Cr and Mo). Quenching and tempering steels by induction heat treatment resulted in a high strength of over 1 GPa and a large reduction of area (>70%) because of the rapid heating and cooling rates.

  • The surface morphology and structural properties of polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) films made in-situ aluminum induced crystallization at various substrate temperature (300~600) was investigated. Silicon films were deposited by hot-wire chemical vapor deposition (HWCVD), as the catalytic or pyrolytic decomposition of precursor gases SiH4 occurs only on the surface of the heated wire. Aluminum films were deposited by DC magnetron sputtering at room temperature. continuous poly-Si films were achieved at low temperature. from cross-section TEM analyses, It was confirmed that poly-Si above $450^{\circ}C$ was successfully grown on and poly-Si films had (111) preferred orientation. As substrate temperature increases, Si(111)/Si(220) ratio was decreased. The electrical properties of poly-Si film were investigated by Hall effect measurement. Poly-Si film was p-type by Al and resistivity and hall effect mobility was affected by substrate temperature.

고강도 인바합금의 석출거동과 기계적 특성 연구 (Study on Precipitation and Mechanical Properties of High Strength Invar Alloy)

  • Effect of V addition on the precipitation behavior and strength of Fe-36Ni based high strength Invar alloy for power transmission wire was investigated. Fe-36Ni Invar alloy plates were fabricated using conventional ingot casting followed by hot rolling. High strength can be obtained through precipitation hardening and strain hardening by cold rolling. Simulation using FactSage$^{(R)}$ revealed that equilibrium phases which can be formed are two kinds of MC-type precipitates, $Mo_{2}C$ and $M_{23}C_6$ carbide. The latter stoichiometric carbide was expected to be formed at relatively lower temperature of $800^{\circ}C$.

In the FL/15-D type: Dissolution-reaction Time was 55Min., C.R. was $6.39{\Omega}(St.{\;}:{\;}6.38{\pm}0.02{\Omega})$, P.W. was $16.7mg(St.{\;}:{\;}16.5{\pm}0.3mg)$. In the FL/20-H type: Dissolution-reaction Time was 45Min., C.R. was $4.7{\Omega}(St.{\;}:{\;}4.6{\pm}0.3{\Omega})$, P.W. was $20.8mg(St.{\;}:{\;}20{\pm}1.5mg)$. In the FL/20-C type: Dissolution-reaction Time was 60Min., C.R. was $4.5{\Omega}(St.{\;}:{\;}4.6{\pm}0.3{\Omega})$, P.W. was $19.8mg(St.{\;}:{\;}19{\pm}1.0mg)$. 2. In the GLS-230/40-B type: Dissolutiona-reaction Time was 45Min., C.R. was $105.1{\Omega}(St.{\;}:{\;}104{\pm}2.6{\Omega})$, P.W was $6.37mg(St.{\;}:{\;}6.3{\pm}0.16mg)$. In the GLS-230/60-F type: Dissolution- reaction Time was 45Min., C.R. was $65.92{\Omega}(St.{\;}:{\;}65{\pm}1.62{\Omega})$, P.W. was $11.91mg(St.{\;}:{\;}11.8{\pm}0.29mg)$.

  • Precipitation characteristics of the Fe-36Ni based high strength Invar alloy for power transmission wire was investigated in this study. High strength can be obtained in this alloy through precipitation hardening and strain hardening by cold working. $FactSage{(R)}$ in this study, revealing that equilibrium phases which can be formed are two kind of MC-type precipitates and MoC carbide. The latter stoichiometric carbide was expected to be formed at relatively lower temperature $770^{\circ}C$. High strength above 1000MPa and 40% of elongation were obtained at room temperature in both cases.

Epitaxial Growth of Boron-doped Si Film using a Thin Large-grained Si Seed Layer for Thin-film Si Solar Cells

  • We developed a method of growing thin Si film at $600^{\circ}C$ by hot wire CVD using a very thin large-grained poly-Si seed layer for thin-film Si solar cells. The seed layer was prepared by crystallizing an amorphous Si film by vapor-induced crystallization using $AlCl_3$ vapor. The average grain size of the p-type epitaxial Si layer was about $20{\mu}m$ and crystallographic defects in the epitaxial layer were mainly low-angle grain boundaries and coincident-site lattice boundaries, which are special boundaries with less electrical activity. Moreover, with a decreasing in-situ boron doping time, the mis-orientation angle between grain boundaries and in-grain defects in epitaxial Si decreased. Due to fewer defects, the epitaxial Si film was high quality evidenced from Raman and TEM analysis. The highest mobility of $360cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ was achieved by decreasing the in-situ boron doping time. The performance of our preliminary thin-film solar cells with a single-side HIT structure and $CoSi_2$ back contact was poor. However, the result showed that the epitaxial Si film has considerable potential for improved performance with a reduced boron doping concentration.
