  • Let D be a bounded domain in $\mathbb{C}^n$ with $C^2$ boundary. In this paper, we prove the following inequality $${\parallel}u{\parallel}_{p_2,{\alpha}_2}{\lesssim}{\parallel}u{\parallel}_{p_1,{\alpha}_1}+{\parallel}\bar{\partial}u{\parallel}_{p_1,{\alpha}_1+p_1}/2$$, where $1{\leq}p_1{\leq}p_2<\infty,\;{\alpha}_j>0,(n+{\alpha}_1)/p_1=(n+{\alpha}_1)/p_1=(n+{\alpha}_2)/p_2$, and $1/p_2{\geq}1/p_1-1/2n$.

Annual Change and C:N:P ratio in Particulate Organic Matter in Chinhae Bay, Korea (한국진해만 입자유기물 함량과 C:N:P 비의 연변화)

  • An investigation of the annual change and C:N:P ratio in particulate organic matter (POM) in Chinhae Bay, a semi-enclosed bay of the southern coast of Korean Peninsula, was carried out for a period of 12 months between January and December, 1993. The concentrations of POM have a broad range: 198∼4,416 ugC/l, 24∼792 ugN/l and 4.5∼69.0 ugP/l, Marked seasonal changes of POM, particularly particulate organic carbon (POC) and nitrogen (PON), were observed in the surface water. Generally, the concentration of POM peaks in summer. The C:N:P composition ratio of particulate organic matter, which is high in summer, also shows a seasonal change. The C:N assimilation ratio is constant at 6.53, which is consistent with the Redfield ratio. The significant linear relationship between POM and chlorophyll-a in the surface water during the survey period (except for January and February) and the C:N ratio suggest that the concentration of POM is controlled by phytoplankton biomass. POM peaks in summer, a period characterized by high freshwater input and the strong stratification, as a result of the intense proliferation of phytoplankton by a large amount of nutrient loading from the tributaries. On the other hand, the high C:P and N:P ratios in summer indicate that P is limited for phytoplankton growth owing to N-enrichment from a high input of freshwater with a high dissolved inorganic N:P ratio.

A Fundamental Study on Composting of Garbage (음식물쓰레기의 퇴비화에 관한 기초적 연구)

  • A fundamental study on composting garbage was performed in a laboratory scale of a high-speed composting reactor. Major parameters were moisture content, temperature and C/N ratio. The results are as follows; pH of the compost was the highest at moisture 60% and anaerobic condition occurred at 70%. It was, also, found that C/N ratio, caused a nitrogen loss due to an occurrence of plentiful $NH_3$. Under controlling Temperature, pH was the highest at $60^{\circ}C$ and an inverse effect for Composting occurred under excessive Temperature as pH at $70^{\circ}C$ was lower than that of soil. The variation of pH and C/N ratio was the lowest when C/N ratio was 25. The results obtained from composting garbage revealed that the best condition of composting occurred under 50 to 60% of moisture content, $60^{\circ}C$ of temperature, and 25 of C/N ratio. It is believed that composting may be finished with in 56 hours if an optimal condition is setting up.

시판하는 재래흑돼지육과 개량종 돼지육의 도체성적, 육색, 지방산 조성 비교

  • 본 연구는 시판하는 재리흑돼지육과 개량종 돼지육의 도체성적, 육색, 지방산 조성을 비교함으로서 재래흑돼지육에 대한 기초자료를 제시하고자 실시하였다. 도체성적은 지육중량, 지육율이 재래흑돼지가 낮았으며(p<0.05), 저장기간 동안 $L^*,\;h^{\circ}$ 값은 저장기간 동안 재래흑돼지육이 낮았으며(p<0.05), $a^*,\;b^*,\;C^*$ 값은 저장기간 동안 재래흑돼지육이 높았다(p<0.05). 지방산 조성은 C14: 0, C18:3n6, C18:3n3, C20:5n3, n3 지방산이 재래흑돼지육이 낮았고(p<0.05), n6 지방산과 n3 지방산의 비율은 재래흑돼지육이 높았다(p<0.05). 따라서 이상의 결과를 종합해보면 재래흑돼지육이 개량종 돼지육보다 육색은 우수하였으나 지육중량, 지육율, n3 지방산은 낮았다.

  • The thermostable resistor was made by using P.T.C.R-N.T.C.R. ceramics. In this study $BaTiO_3$ type P.T.C.R. ceramics and $SnO_2-Sb_2O_3$ type N.T.C.R. ceramics were cocrystallized in one body and electrical resistance was stable under the temperature variation between $25^{\circ}C$-40$0^{\circ}C$. The ceramics showed the most stable electrical resistance for the mal variation when the composition was 0.6P.T.C.R. $BaTiO_3$,$ 0.4SnO_2$ and 0.01 $Sb_2O_3$.

  • An organometallic complex. $Me_2Pt(PPh_2CH_2C(t-Bu)=N-N=CMe(2-py)-\kappa^2N,P)$ was synthesized from phosphinohydrazone $Ph_2PCH_2C(t-Bu)=NNH_2$, 2-acetylpyridine, and $[PtMe2({\mu}-SMe_2)]_2$. The molecular structure of this complex has been determined by X-ray diffraction. Crystallographic data: monoclinic, space group $P2_1/n,\;a=11.6926(7)\;{\AA},\;b=15.6607(19)\;{\AA},\; c=14.6125(6)\;{\AA},\;\beta=93.018(4)^{\circ},\;Z=4,\;V=2672.0(4)\;{\AA}^3$. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squares methods to give a model with a reliability factor R = 0.0363 for 5238 reflections.

  • Two new nickel vanadium borophosphate cluster compounds, $(NH_4)_{10}[Ni(H_2O)_5]_4[V_2P_2BO_{12}]_6{\cdot}nH_2O$ (1) and $(NH_4)_{3.5}(C_3H_{12}N_2)_{3.5}[Ni(H_2O)_6]_{1.25}{[Ni(H_2O)_5]_2[V_2P_2BO_{12}]_6{\cdot}nH_2O$ (2) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Inter-diffusion methods were employed to prepare the compounds. The cluster anion $[(NH_4)\;{\supset}\;V_2P_2BO_{12}]_6$ is used as a building unit in the synthesis of new compounds containing $Ni(H_2O){^{2+}_5}$ in the presence of pyrazine and 1,3-diaminopropane. Compounds contain isolated cluster anions with general composition ${[Ni(H_2O)_5]_n[(NH_4)\;{\supset}\;V_2P_2BO_{12}]_6}^{-(17-2n)}$ (n = 2, 4). Crystal data: $(NH_4)_{10}[Ni(H_2O)_5]_4[V_2P_2BO_{12}]_6{\cdot}nH_2O$, monoclinic, space group C2/m (no. 12), a = 27.538(2) ${\AA}$, b = 20.366(2) ${\AA}$, c = 11.9614(9) ${\AA}$, ${\beta}$ = 112.131(1)$^{\circ}$, Z = 8; $(NH_4)_{3.5}(C_3H_{12}N_2)_b[Ni(H_2O)_6]_{3.5}{[Ni(H_2O)_5]_2[V_2P_2BO_{12}]_6{\cdot}nH_2O$, triclinic, space group P-1 (no. 2), a = 17.7668(9) ${\AA}$, b = 17.881(1) ${\AA}$, c = 20.668(1) ${\AA}$, ${\alpha}$ = 86.729(1)$^{\circ}$, ${\beta}$ \ 65.77(1)$^{\circ}$, ${\gamma}$ = 80.388(1)$^{\circ}$, Z = 2.

Effect of C/N Ratio on the Production of Poly(3-hydroxyalkanoates) by the Methylotroph Paracoccus denitrificans

  • Two series of carbon sources, linear primary $C_1$~$C_9$ alcohols and linear $C_2$~$C_{10}$ monocarboxylic acids were tested for PHA synthesis in Paracoccus denitrificans. The results showed that the growth-associated synthesis of PHA could be referred only to the carbon sources with odd number of carbon except methanol. For all carbon sources with even number of carbon, nitrogen limitation was required to induce PHA synthesis in P. denitrificans. Poly(3-hydroxyvalerate)[P(3HV)] homopolymer was synthesized from $C_5$, $C_7$, and $C_9$ while growing in the presence of nitrogen, but the nitrogen depletion in the later growth period incorporated 3-hydroxybutyrate(3HB) unit into the polymer chain. The optimum C/N ratio for P(3HV) homopolymer production was found to be 10 when the strain was grown on 10 ml/l of valeric acid for 96 h. P. denitrificans synthesized P(3HB-co-3HV) copolymers from n-hexanoic and n-octanoic acid. The microstructural characterics of the P(3HB-co-3HV) copolymer from n-propanol was investigated using $^13C$-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, showing a structural heterogeneity.
