As the marketing strategy of corporations has been changing in various ways, the type of new product development has also bC'en changing in dim~rent ways. In 2002, the government arranged an institutional strategy to make it possible for a consumers to make a claim for damages caused by product defects against a business that produces and sells a product by enforcing the Product Liability Law(hereinafter referred to as 'PL'). On the other hand, due to the recent humidifier sterilizer accident, approximately 12 cases of related bills, such as a revised bill for the product liability law, have been proposed to the National Assembly at present in an effort to introduce the group action system and punitive compensation system for the purpose of the strengthening of the corporate product liability, and consumer damage relief. Ironically, as much as 62.6% of small & medium businesses, which are actual interested parties to this bill, are unaware of this. Many companies are responding to PL with the rationalization of document preparation & storage, clarification of responsibility relations with related business operators, and PL insurance policy purchase, or securing compensation funds as a means of Product Liability Defense(PLD), but the methods of preparation such as this leave much room for limits on the considerations of product design and product safety. This paper presents the individual management system model with more focus on product safety by looking into the clear concept of PL and the countermeasures against it, grasping the relevance between the PL system and individual management system, and integrating the PL response system in preparation for the PL. It is hoped that the result of this research objective will be evaluated as a rational countermeasure for small & medium businesses to respond effectively to the PL.

Let ${\Gamma}^+$ be the positive cone in a totally ordered abelian group ${\Gamma}$, and ${\alpha}$ an action of ${\Gamma}^+$ by extendible endomorphisms of a $C^*$-algebra A. Suppose I is an extendible ${\alpha}$-invariant ideal of A. We prove that the partial-isometric crossed product $\mathcal{I}:=I{\times}^{piso}_{\alpha}{\Gamma}^+$ embeds naturally as an ideal of $A{\times}^{piso}_{\alpha}{\Gamma}^+$, such that the quotient is the partial-isometric crossed product of the quotient algebra. We claim that this ideal $\mathcal{I}$ together with the kernel of a natural homomorphism $\phi:A{\times}^{piso}_{\alpha}{\Gamma}^+{\rightarrow}A{\times}^{iso}_{\alpha}{\Gamma}^+$ gives a composition series of ideals of $A{\times}^{piso}_{\alpha}{\Gamma}^+$ studied by Lindiarni and Raeburn.

The analysis of injection molding process by CAE is widely used in development of plastic products. That comes from the fact that CAE analysis can reduce trial and error based on optimized design. On this study, by use of MOLDFLOW, the causes of product defects were found and solved by trade-off study. CAE analysis includes Flow-Cool-Warpage Analyses and finally a new mold-die design with better product quality was suggested. On injection molding of round-shaped plastic fan, new mold-die system with 4-tunnel gates located on the edge of a fan disc shows better quality rather than pin-point gate located on the center of a disc. That was effective in terms of flow mark removal and flatness improvement of the product.

One of the most important steps to determine the blank shape and dimensions in deep drawing process is to calculate the surface area of the product. In general, the surface area of axisymmetric products is calculated by mathematical or graphical methods. However, in the case of non-axisymmetric products, it is difficult to calculate the exact surface area due to errors as separated components. Fortunately, it is possible for elliptical products to recognize the geometry of the product in the long side and short side by drafting in another two layers on AutoCAD software. So, in this study, a surface area calculating system is constructed for a design of blank shape of deep drawing products. This system consists of input geometry recognition module and three dimensional modeling module, respectively. The suitability of this system is verified by applying to a real deep drawing product. The system constructed in this study would be very useful to reduce lead time and cost for determining the blank shape and dimensions.

The planning process of complex projects in oceanic architectural engineering is characterized by the cooperation of many involved specialists and by a high degree of information exchange. In order to improve the quality of the structural design of oceanic buildings, information of different involved partners in the planning process has to be integrated. This paper aims to introduce a concept of the integrated structural design for the floating-type oceanic building using STEP(Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data). STEP(ISO 10303) is an international standard for the computer-interpretable representation and exchange of product data and it provides a consistent data exchange format and application interfaces between different application systems. In this paper, the structural design process and information of oceanic buildings is analyzed and product models are preposed fir the exchange of the structural design information between superstructure and floating structure. The entities for calculating wind loads, metacenter and restoring forces are represented by Express. As a case study a floating hotel is applicated to describe the STEP physical file.

Modular BOMs are typically used in TWO-Level Master Production Schedule. To solve the problems of Modular BOM generation and efficient DB construction, we proposed Value Clustering Method. Based upon Where-Used matrix of products and components, VCM is the method to find out module by generating product family group value, product value, and component value. We also proposed method to find out information about Modules, algorithms to find out Modules that show Alternative Usage Pattern, and method to find out Modules used in a given product. We also compared the DB creation method by Value Clustering Method and by conventional method. We compared the size of DB in both methods. We mathematically proved that the proposed method is doing better as the size and complexity of product family gets larger and more complicated.

Haloarene in which the phenyl group and halophenyl group are connected by alkyl groups were synthesized to study the photochemical behavior. The photochemical reactions of 1-halo-2-(phenylalkyl)enzenes (1 and 2) were studied in several aerated or unaerated solvents. In the case of 2-benzyl-1-halobenzene photoreduced product (biphenyl) is major in acetonitrile or benzene. In cyclohexane or acetonitrile with triethylamine, photoreduced product is obtained exclusively, while in acetonitrile with toluene, xylene, or sodium hydroxide photocyclized product (fluorene) is mainly obtained. In the case of 1-halo-2-phenethylbenzenes (5 and 6), photocyclized product (9,10-dihydrophenanthrene and phenanthrene) are major in acetonitrile or benzene. While the haloarenes 1 or 2 connecting the two arene rings by methylene is photoreduced, the other haloarene 5 or 6 connecting by ethylene is photocyclized. In cyclohexane or acetonitrile with a small amount of triethylamine, photoreduced reactions of 5 or 6 mainly occur. In acetonitrile with sodium hydroxide, toluene, or xylene, photocyclization of 5, 6 occur exclusively. The triplet state is mainly involved in the photocyclization of 5 or 6, because of the inhibition of oxygen.

The compound of the 6,7-dichloroquinoline-5,8-dione has two asymmetric chloro radicals at the position of the C6 and C7. When the compound reacts with ethyl acetoacetate in the presence of sodium ethoxide, it is considered that C6 and/or C7 position of the compound can be substitued. The exact substitued position of the product (I) could not be identified by the NMR analysis in our experiment. Therefore, we synthesized the 3-ethoxycarbonyl-2-methyl-1-N-propyl pyridino(2,3f)indole-4,9-dione by reaction of the product (I) with propylamine via intramolecular cyclization to identify the substitued position of the product (I) using the X-ray crystallographic structure analysis. The result demonstrates that the position of nucleophilic substitution of the product (I) is at the position of the C6.

The e-catalog system consists of e-catalog database. e-catalog manager. and a web server, and provides e-catalog web service by displaying e-catalog documents that contain web 3D images. product specifications and manuals. Various web contents such as the 3D images of products, which offer basic viewpoints/movement handles and function simulations, product specifications, product manuals and product features, can be integrated into e-catalog documents in XML format through image manipulation and database connection by using the e-catalog manager tool. By reducing time and cost for publication and management of an e-catalog web service, the competitiveness of companies is expected to be intensified in the perspective of e-business activities.
