주차장 옥상을 이용한 나비정원 설계 (Designing the Butterfly Garden on the Rooftop of Parking Garage)

  • Comprehensive landscape architectural services provided from schematic design through construction document for this 22,000 square foot, linear, urban rooftop garden situated on top of an in-ground parking garage. The Butterfly Garden serves as a green buffer between a fully renovated historic, seven story condominium building and 15 newly constructed luxury town houses. The park was developed with the cooperation and input from the Washington Butterfly Society during an intensive design charette. The garden will one day soon serve as an ecological amenity to the residents of Alban Towers as well as the surrounding community.

국내 나비온실의 식물 식재현황 분석과 적용방안 연구 (The Analysis of the Butterfly Greenhouse Plant for the Butterfly Gardening)

  • This study analyzed the relationship between butterflies and plants. We examined 8 butterfly greenhouse. Butterflies are 5 families, 22 species found in 8 locations. Papilio xuthus, Pieris rapae, Papilio bianor etc. was expected to be introduced in the garden. Plants were identified in the 8 greenhouse with a total 249 taxa to 82 families 186 gunus 224 species 23 variety 2 forma. The main planting species were Compositae, Liliaceae, Rosaceae, Umbelliferae, Crassulaceae, Rutaceae and Etc. A main life forms are Hemicryptophytes. The naturalized plants have been identified 7 families 11 species. And planting in the garden, we propose appropriate management. Host plant is confirmed Rutaceae, Umbelliferae Leguminosae, Cruciferae, Ulmaceae, Aristolochiaceae Etc.. Main nectar plant is Compositae, Liliaceae, Rosaceae, Crassulaceae, Labiatae. Nectar plant is proposed to be planted in consideration of the flowering period. Zanthoxylum piperitum, Zanthoxylum schinifolium, Phellodendron amurense, Poncirus trifoliata, Citrus junos, Ruta graveolens proposed design reflects the woody. Spiraea(Rosaceae) and Rhododendron(Ericaceae) proposed by Nectar plants of woody. We hope to be utilized in the planning and construction of a butterfly garden.

나비정원 조성을 위한 나비 및 식물 선정 연구 (A study on selection of Butterfly and Plant Species for Butterfly Gardening)

  • Various types of parks such as ecological park, dragonfly park, etc. are tried to design in order to resolve different environmental issues in urban areas. Parks are considered organism habitats that not only improve the biodiversity but also give people a chance to observe living organisms in urban area. This study was conducted to select basic materials for planning a butterfly garden through reference reviews. The following 21 species of butterflies belonged to 1 order, 4 families, and 16 genera were selected: Phengaris teleius, Pseudozizeeria maha, Thecla betulae, Argynnis hyperbius, Dichorragia nesimachus, Hestina assimilis, Polygonia caureum, Sasakia charonda, Vanessa cardui, Vanessa indica, Boloria selene, Byasa alcinous, Papilio machaon, Papilio macilentus, Papilio protenor, Papilio xuthus, Papilio bianor, Sericinus montela, Colias erate, Eurema hecabe, and Pieris rapae. 85 species belonged to 22 families, 59 genera, 74 species, 10 varieties, and 1 subspecies were selected for host and nectar plants for butterflies selected above. These results would be expected to useful in butterfly gardening. After that, we think it is necessary to be applied these study results in field. This study requires a test in the butterfly garden. The test results will be make the butterfly-plant matrix.

Effects of Temperature on the Development of Chinese Windmill Butterfly, Atrophaneura alcinous (Lepidoptera: Papilionidae)

  • The Chinese windmill butterfly, Atrophaneura alcinous, is an important butterfly for exhibition in butterfly garden. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of temperature on A. alcinous in the laboratory. Development of A. alcinous reared on leaves of Aristolochia contorta was investigated at five constant the laboratory condition (20, 22.5, 25, 27.5 and $30^{\circ}C$) and at relative humidity of 60% with a photoperiod of 14:10 (L:D). Temperatures have been suggested as an important determinant of developmental rate, lifespan and mortality in invertebrates. As the temperature increased, the length of the developmental period gradually decreased. The developmental time (pupation) from egg hatching to pupation was respectively 25.8, 23.6, 19.6, 15.5, and 12.9 days at the temperatures of 20, 22.5, 25, 27.5 and $30^{\circ}C$. And pupation was respectively 40.0, 30.0, 63.4, 50.0, 23.3% at the temperatures of 20, 22.5, 25, 27.5 and $30^{\circ}C$. The developmental threshold temperature estimated for egg-to-pupae was 10.8, with a thermal constant of 230.4 degree-days. Therefore, the optimal developmental temperature for A. alninous was determined to be $25^{\circ}C$. To compare the effects of the total duration of chilling on the termination of diapause, larvae were subjected to a temperature of $8^{\circ}C$ from 60 to 120 days. The rate of termination of diapause was significantly higher at 60 days compared to other incubation period.

Butterfly Diversity, Distribution, and Abundance in the University of Port Harcourt River State, Nigeria

  • Information on butterflies in the Niger Delta Region is relatively scanty because monitoring of their activities and distribution has not been fully documented and these are paramount to establish their conservation protocols. The study therefore aimed at evaluating the species richness distribution pattern, and relative abundance of butterflies in the University of Port Harcourt. The University Park was purposively selected for this study. The park was stratified into three different habitat types (secondary forest, farmland, and residential/garden). A sampling of each stratum was done three times; twice in the morning between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm as well as once in the evening between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm along a 100 m line transects for 16 months (May 2017-August 2018). Data collected were analyzed for species diversity indices, evenness, and similarity index. A total of 1,932 individual butterflies belonging to 28 species, 18 genera, and five 5 families were identified in the study area. Species diversity and evenness were higher on farmland (1-D=0.909; H'=2.615; E=0.833), and least in the residential area/gardens (1-D=0.744; H'=1.975; E=0.659). The family Nymphalidae (39.0%) had the highest number of species occurrence while Hesperidae (0.4%) had the lowest composition. Anthene larydas (24.12%) had the highest relative abundance in the entire study area, followed by Acraea serena (17.49%). The study, therefore, recommends continuous monitoring of butterfly species diversity and composition also in other regions.

당재길 걷고싶은 녹화거리 설계 (The Walkable Green Street Design for "Dangjae-Gil")

  • This paper presents a streetscape design for "Dangiae-Gil"which is located at 126-1 Yangpyung-2dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul and is about 500m in length and about 24m in width. The design goals are to make a green street on which people want to walk and people can walk and rest safely and pleasantly. To achieve these goals, concepts of environmentally-friendliness, placeness, safety, amenity, vitality, connectivity, and democracy are developed. For pedestrian safety, shared street concepts, such as crank, slalom etc. are adopted. The site is divided into 5 thematic spaces, such as "Village Entrance Space", "Culture Street", "Dangsan Park", "Nature Street", and "Ferry Space". The Village Entrance Space, which is an entrance of the Dangjae-Gil and a welcoming space, is for communicating information about the area. "Dangnamu"(zelkova tree) and signs are introduced here. The Culture Street is for experiencing past and present culture of the area. Colored tiles and plant boxes attached to benches are introduced. The Dangsan park is a sacred space where modem people can feel the sacredness of nature arid of being in a refuge. Dangjib, Dangnamu, multi-purpose plaza, athletic facilities, and playground for infants are introduced. The Nature Street is a space for feeling and teaming nature which has disappeared from the area leading to the river and a space for community participation. The elementary school walls were demolished and nature education spaces, such as butterfly and dragonfly garden, ecological pond, wildflower garden, etc., which are related to school education, are introduced. The Ferry Space is a space symbolizing a old ferry crossing and an entrance plaza to a bridge for "Sunyu-do\" . A boat-shaped deck, an elevator for handicap people, and parking space are introduced. In conclusion, sustainable management schemes for the site are suggested.sted.

온대지역 공동주택단지의 아열대 식물용 온실 설계 (Greenhouse Design for Subtropical Plants in Apartment Housing Complexes in Temperate Regions)

  • 본 연구는 공동주택 단지에 온실 형태의 EVERGREEN PARK를 도입하기 위하여 진행하였으며, 단순한 관상을 위한 온실이 아닌, 주민의 적극적인 참여와 활용을 목표로, 사계절 내내 이용 가능한 외부 공간의 구심점으로서 주민의 편의와 유익한 서비스를 제공하고자 하였다. 계획의 주안점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아열대 식물들은 상록활엽성 식물들로 사계절 녹음을 유지하고, 잎의 육질이 두껍고 윤택이 많다. 이런 상록활엽수들이 주 수종인 아열대 식물용 온실을 온대지방에 도입하여 독특하고 고급스런 상록수림을 온대지방 사람들이 이용할 수 있도록 계획하였으며, 최고급의 상록식물상을 매우 저렴한 유지관리 비용으로 이용자들에게 제공할 수 있도록 계획하였다. 둘째, 공동주택단지 내에 도입한 아열대 식물용 온실은 지하연계구조형과 독립 구조형으로서 가온설비 없이 조성하여 지열을 이용하며, 차광 등의 방법을 이용하도록 제시하였다. 셋째, 활용방안으로서 (1) 건강과 휴식(Evergreens, 허브가든, 수 공간), (2) Community와 교육(식물벼룩시장 및 식물병원, 식물관련강좌(전시회), 체험학습프로그램), (3) Vine Garden 등의 운영프로그램을 제시하였으며, 나비축제, Aroma festival, Smile Oak Nuts, 촛불축제, Christmas! Photo Site 등의 4계절 이용방안을 제시하였다. 넷째, 온실의 운영 유지관리는 주민이 중심이 되는 주민차치회 중심 운영관리와 외부전문업체 중심 운영관리의 방안을 제시하였다.

중국 쑤저우 고전원림 포장문양의 사상적 배경 고찰 (Ideological Background of Paving Patterns of Classical Gardens in Suzhou, China)

  • 중국 강남지방 고전 사가원림의 포장문양은 황가원림보다 종류도 다양하고 변화도 많다. 쑤저우 사가원림에서 다양한 문양을 도입하게 된 사상적 배경을 규명하기 위해서 세계문화유산으로 지정된 9개소의 원림을 조사 분석하였다. 그 결과 원시 자연숭배신앙인 애니미즘과 토테미즘의 영향은 소수로 나타났다. 쑤저우 고전원림 포장문양 가운데 큰 영향을 미친 것은 유교, 도교, 불교 사상인 것으로 나타났다. 유교 사상이 나타난 사례는 간방식, 팔방식, 육방식 문양으로 주로 진입로나 정당건물 앞에 넓은 면적에 포설된다. 도교 사상이 나타나는 문양은 오복봉수(五福捧壽), 반도(蟠桃), 암팔선 문양이다. 불교 사상이 나타나는 사례는 팔보 문양인데 그 가운데 윤회사상을 나타내는 반장 문양이 제일 많이 나타난다. 이밖에 쑤저우 고전원림 포장 문양 76 종류 가운데에는 복(福), 재물, 다산(多産), 신분상승을 기원하는 의미에서 선호하고 믿었던 민속문화라는 범주의 문양들이 있다. 박쥐, 나비, 잠자리, 사슴, 개구리, 금섬, 잉어, 동전 등이 있다.

Alcohol 농도별(濃度別)로 추출(抽出)한 인삼(人蔘)엑기스의 당질(糖質)과 총질소(總窒素)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Studies on the Sugars and Total Nitrogen Contents of Ginseng Extracts with Different Ethanol Concentrations)

  • Alcohol 농도별(濃度別)로 추출(抽出)된 원료삼(原料蔘)(수삼(水蔘),건삼(乾蔘), 미삼(尾蔘)) 엑기스에 대하여 이화학적(理化學的) 특성(特性), 당질(糖質) 및 총질소(總窒素) 함량(含量)을 분석비교(分析比較)한 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 인삼(人蔘)엑기스는 약간의 점성(粘性)을 가진 끈끈한 차갈색(茶褐色)으로 투광도(透光度)는 인삼(水蔘)이 35.9%, 건삼(乾蔘)이 29.2%, 미삼(尾蔘)이 28.9%이며, 이들은 산성(酸性)(pH 4.8-6.2)을 띄는 액상(液相)이었다. 2. 총당(總糖), 자당(蔗糖), 전분(澱粉)은 알콜농도(濃度)가 증가(增加)함에 따라 감소(減少)하는 경향(傾向)이었으며, 원료삼별(原料蔘別)로는 총당함량(總糖含量)이 건삼(乾蔘), 미삼(尾蔘), 수삼(水蔘)의 순(順)이고, 자당함량(蔗糖含量)은 수삼(水蔘), 건삼(乾蔘), 미삼(尾蔘)의 순(順)이며, starch함량(含量)은 미삼(尾蔘), 건삼(乾蔘), 수삼(水蔘)의 순(順)으로 많았다. 3. 원원당(遠元糖) 함량(含量)은 수삼(水蔘) 4.9-7.8%, 건삼(乾蔘) 8.6-12.8%, 미삼(尾蔘) 7.6-9.1%의 분포이고, 알콜농도가 증가(增加)함에 따라 수삼(水蔘), 미삼(尾蔘)은 감소(減少)하나 건삼(乾蔘)에서는 증가(增加)하는 경향(傾向)이었으며 건삼(乾蔘), 미삼(尾蔘), 수삼(水蔘)의 순(順)으로 높은 함량(含量)을 보였다. 4. 총질소(總窒素) 함량(含量)은 수삼(水蔘), 건삼(乾蔘), 미삼(尾蔘)등에서 2.3$\sim$4.6% 내외로서 알콜함량(含量)이 증가(增加)함에 따라 수삼(水蔘)과 건삼(乾蔘)은 증가(增加)하였으나 건삼(尾蔘)은 감소(減少)하는 경향(傾向)이었고, 원삼별로(原料蔘別)로는 건삼(乾蔘), 수삼(水蔘), 미삼(尾蔘)의 순(順)으로 많은 함량(含量)을 보였다.ast and present culture of the area.
