Chinese Female Consumers' Intention to Use Mobile Payment Services

  • Purpose - This study intended to investigate ways to influence on the Chinese female consumers' use of mobile payment services. For this purpose, this research investigated the relationships among security and compatibility of the mobile payment service, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, psychological benefit, and intention to use mobile payment. Research design, data, and methodology - This research developed a structural equation model in which the usefulness, the ease of use, and the psychological benefit are predictors and the intention to use is a dependent variable. Data were collected from China female in Jiangsu and Shandong province. Results - Empirical results showed that the security and the compatibility had a positive influence on the usefulness and the ease of use. The usefulness and the ease of use influenced on the psychological benefit respectively and the psychological benefit had a positive influence on the intention to use. Conclusions - This research contributed to the mobile payment service literature by showing how Chinese women consumers adopt the mobile payment service based on TAM. Moreover, current study introduced the security and the compatibility as antecedents of the usefulness and the ease of use and revealed the mediating role of psychological benefit. Managerially, theses results suggested retailing companies ways to influence on the Chinese female consumers' use of mobile payment services.

ISO 37001의 효율적 운영을 위한 개선방안 연구 (A Study on the improving ways for effective operation of ISO 37001)

  • 'ISO 37001 - Anti-bribery Management Systems, one of the Business Ethics of Global Standards, is a new standard to help organizations fight bribery and promote an ethical business culture which was developed in 2016. ISO 37001 can provide the tools and systems to greatly reduce the risk and help organizations deal with it effectively if it does arise. After enforcing the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, Korean government standardized ISO 37001 harmonizing International Standards into Korean Industrial Standards (KS) in 2017. It is meaningful in that Korean companies have localized regulation which applies to global standard anti-bribery management systems. About 100 organizations have adopted ISO 37001 as in the first half of 2019. So far many side effects of other ISO certifications have been recognized. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the current status of ISO 37001 in Korea for effective operation and management. The primary purpose of this paper is to investigate the current status and problems of ISO 37001 in Korea. It can provide useful guidelines for improving ISO 37001 to manage bribe and corruption effectively.

Does National Distance Affect Different Industries in Different Ways? A Test of the Ghemawat CAGE Model

  • Purpose - This study empirically investigated whether national distances (Cultural, Administrative, Geographic and Economic distance) have different effects on industries in different ways. Design/methodology - The empirical model utilized industry level export trade data to examine the differentiated effects of each national distance. By using direct measurement and covering 75 countries, this paper analyzes the effect of distances in different industries. More specifically, this study classified the industries into a more-sensitive/less-sensitive scale. Findings - The empirical results showed the complicated impacts of national distances on trade. Trade in industries that are more sensitive to cultural and administrative distances was not decreased as greatly as trade in industries that are less sensitive to cultural and administrative distances. Also, industries that are more sensitive to geographic distance showed a stronger negative impact on trade than less sensitive industries. Lastly, economic distance decreased trade for industries that are more sensitive to economic distance, while economic distance did not significantly increase trade for industries that are less sensitive to economic distance. Originality/value - As the first study to empirically find out whether national distance has different effects on industries, this study updated the measurements of national distance.

  • Compared to other business discipline, business continuity is relatively new. In this post 9/11 era, we still do not have a meaningful tool to objectively and consistently measure the organization's disaster-readiness. The purpose of this study is to introduce various processes included in the business continuity management (BCM) and introduce the business continuity program maturity model(BCMM). The BCMM can serve two purposes: First, it provides a diagnostic tool for objective evaluation of BCM effectiveness. Second, it can suggest ways of improvement for the business continuity program by generating data from which meaningful benchmark analyses could be drawn.

Different Concepts of Customer-Supplier Relationship - An Exploratory Case Study of Korean-German Business Activities in the Shipbuilding Industry

  • In the last several years, South Korea's shipbuilders have been dominating global shipbuilding. Thus, many global suppliers in the shipbuilding industry, especially German supply companies, are eager to get the Korean major shipbuilders as their customer. This study analyzed the different ways of business behaviours of German and Korean businessmen regarding customer-supplier relations. Furthermore, this paper aims to examine the kinds of challenges the international businessmen are confronted with and how this affects everyday business between German suppliers and Korean customers, using several case examples. Finally, backgrounds of cross-cultural problems and conflicts of German-Korean business relations are identified and explained.

연안어업의 어업손실보상시 어선대체로 인한 톤수변경의 경우 타당한 톤수적용 방안에 관한 연구 (Study on the Appropriate Method Applying Gross Tons for Compensation for Damage of Coastal Fisheries in Case of Boat Change)

  • Costal fisheries use small boat. The boats are frequently substituted with newly made boat or proper boat. When the boat which is substituted with another one after the fixed date for compensation is estimated for fisheries loss by public project, it is matter that which boat is the object for estimating average catch of fish. There are three ways in practical business. They are based on the date of spot probe, the date of conference for compensation and fixed date for compensation. In case of applying the first and the second ways, as the object of compensation is not fixed, there is problem that estimated result can be changed depending on changing boat tons even after the date of spot probe and the fixed date for compensation. Most of all, these ways are against Attached Form No.4 of the Enforcement Ordinance of Fisheries Law which regulate to calculate average catch of fish applying result of fishery for retroactively counted 3 years from the year before the year in which administrative measure day is. The other side, in applying boat tons based on the fixed date for compensation, estimated result of compensation will not change even boat substituted after the fixed date for compensation. Even though applying tons based on the fixed date for compensation, a problem still remains. If the boat get bigger after the fixed date for compensation, the then boat size must be applied for calculating average catch. But the boat get smaller, the changed boat size must be applied. Because changed small boat would be damaged less than the previous boat. And decrease in catch by changing boat into small one is not due to the project but due to the personal responsibility. This will help to increase objectivity and reliance on the compensation result. As the other objects are fixed based on the fixed date for compensation in the Act on Acquisition and Compensation of Land and Others for Public Project, it can be balanced with other object.

The Influence of Personality Traits on Airline Untact Check-in: Focusing on Mobile Check-in User

  • Purpose: Year of 2020, COVID-19 has been changing the people's everyday life to ways never been thought of before all over the world. The IT and electronic industry, the methods of supplying goods and services have been changed from contact to un-tact environments based on un-tact systems very rapidly. COVID-19 has been striking the tourism and the travel industry, especially the airline and hotel industry of which services are provided by human. For the passenger service of airliner, automation has been propelled and un-tact style of service has become mainstreams except cabin service since 2000's. For passenger transportation, due to traffic regulations and exclusions etc., switching to new ways is not easy. However, under the new environment made by COVID-19, kiosk check-in, web check-in and mobile check-in has become more important. In this study, the characteristics of airline customers using mobile goods are investigated to find ways to raise the rate of utilizing mobile check-in and to increase the efficiency of boarding process. Research design, data, and methodology: Considering the COVID-19 environment, survey was done by online research company. The research model is designed to integrate the user characteristics and usage/purchase motive and technology acceptance theory. Especially considering infectious diseases prevention, concern of safety is adopted as one of the usage motive variable. Results: Extraversion or conscientiousness characteristics prefers counter check-in(contact service), while openness characteristics prefers mobile check-in(un-tact service). Concern of safety for infectious disease shows strong non-preference on counter check-in. Conclusions: Regarding service type regardless of type of the industry, automation and un-tact have been mainstreams due to high costs of labor, efficiency and standardization issue, etc., and COVID-19 has given impetus to them. For airliner, un-tact service including boarding process service has been more and more important. To raise the rate of un-tact service use, the characteristics of the user should be analyzed first. The study results indicate that for extraversion or conscientiousness, some kinds of methods to induce them to use un-tact service more are needed.

  • Lately, there have been tremendous shifts in the business technology landscape. Advances in cloud technology and mobile applications have enabled businesses and IT users to interact in entirely new ways. One of the most rapidly growing technologies in this sphere is business intelligence, and associated concepts such as big data and data mining. BI is the collection of systems and products that have been implemented in various business practices, but not the information derived from the systems and products. On the other hand, big data has come to mean various things to different people. When comparing big data vs business intelligence, some people use the term big data when referring to the size of data, while others use the term in reference to specific approaches to analytics. As the volume of data grows, businesses will also ask more questions to better understand the data analytics process. As a result, the analysis team will have to keep up with the rising demands on the infrastructure that supports analytics applications brought by these additional requirements. It's also a good way to ascertain if we have built a valuable analysis system. Thus, Business Intelligence and Big Data technology can be adapted to the business' changing requirements, if they prove to be highly valuable to business environment.

A Empirical Study on the Ways of Searching for Foreign Buyers and the Performances Improvement of Exporting Companies in China - Focused on the Exporting Companies in the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone -

  • As market is more and more mature, the survival environment of exporting companies is getting severer, which throws exporting companies into great pressures of the process of growth and development. For most businessmen, the hardest part of starting a foreign business is to find buyers or to get customers, which is more critical for small and medium-size foreign enterprises. The fast changes of internal and external trade and market circumstances, together with the advent of e-commerce, led to the diversified of the way to find foreign buyers for exporting companies. But the performance differs in using different ways of finding foreign buyers. Therefore, this study examines the status of the methods of finding foreign buyers and performance of exporting companies in China. Based on the investigation of the ways of finding foreign buyers, this study tries to find out the most efficient ways of finding foreign buyers for them. And this study tries to propose some practical suggestions for the exporting companies based on the analysis that will help them to improve companies' performances.

대기업의 디지털 산업 확장 유형의 탐색적 연구 (An Explorative Study of Big Companies' Expansion Strategies to Digital Businesses)

  • 인수합병을 비롯하여 기업은 여러 형태의 확장 방법을 가지고 있다. 한국의 온오프라인 대기업들은 신속한 디지털 산업 확장에 있어 여러가지 목적들에 따른 다양한 확장 방식을 보여주고 있다. 기술적 이유에 의한 확장의 경우 부족한 기술적 요소 획득을 위한 목적이며, 사업적 이유로 인한 확장은 시장 경쟁력 확보를 위한 동종산업의 오프라인 기업이 온라인 진출을 목적으로 하는 합병이 있다. 다른 확장 형태들로는 기업의 관련 사업 확장을 목적으로 내부에서 성장시킨 기업을 분사시키는 형태의 확장과 신생 관계사들에 부분적 투자를 하고 성장 후 그룹 자회사로 흡수하는 외부로부터의 인수 합병 형태의 확장 등이 있다. 다양한 형태의 확장은 상황에 따른 최적의 선택이라는 측면도 있지만, 각기 다른 장단점을 가지고 있으며 기업들은 이를 고려한 선택을 하고 있다. 그러한 이유로 기업의 확장 방법들의 목적과 장단점을 학문적으로 검토해 보는 것은 학술적으로도 이 시점에서 필요하다고 생각되며, 실무적으로도 기업들에 통찰력을 제공할 수 있는 가치가 있다고 생각된다. 동종 오프라인 기업의 멀티채널화 합병의 경우 온라인 기업 내재화의 성공 가능성 및 시너지 효과가 낮을 위험성이 있으며, 내부 성장 기업의 분사는 안정성은 있지만, 내부 자원의 제약에 따른 확장 속도가 느린 문제가 있을 수 있다. 반면 외부 창업 후 자회사로 흡수시키는 경우 법적 규제 가능성과 외부의 부정적 인식 우려의 위험성이 존재한다.
