Productivity improvement is one of the important goals which firms' technology developments aim at. Firms' improved productivity from technology development means that their inputs can produce more outputs through technology development, which makes firms' productivity improvement from technology development more and more important in the age of technology advance and convergence like today. This research empirically analyzes the influence of the external technology collaboration network diversity on the productivity improvement of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from technology development and the moderating effect of the chief technology officer (CTO)-driven technology development on this influence. This study constructs the research model reflecting the moderating impact of the CTO-driven technology development and tests it with the ordinary least squares regression through the IBM SPSS version 23 by using the 2,000 data about South Korean SMEs. This research empirically reveals two points. One is that SMEs' external technology collaboration network diversity has a positive influence on their productivity improvement from technology development. The other is that the positive effect of SMEs' external technology collaboration network diversity on their productivity improvement from technology development is moderated by the CTO-driven technology development. The two points revealed in this study present two meaningful implications in not only the practical but also academic point of view. The practical implication is that it is effective for SMEs to use CTOs in increasing their productivity improvement from technology development. The academic implication is that making technology collaboration with more diverse external partners can increase SMEs' productivity improvement from technology development.

본 연구는 선진국을 중심으로 광범위하게 진행중인 서비스경제로의 이행과 그에 따른 경제 전체 혹은 서비스산업의 생산성 정체 현상을 분석하기 위한 논문으로서, 생산기술 특성상 생산성 향상이 매우 제한적인 서비스산업의 비중이 커지면 경제 전체의 생산성 역시 제약을 받을 수 있다는 Baumol의 가설을 1970년~2007까지의 한국, 미국, 영국, 독일, 프랑스, 이탈리아의 자료를 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 논문의 주요 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서비스산업으로 노동이 이동하는 서비스경제로의 이행은 각 국가별 차이는 있으나 선진국을 중심으로 광범위하게 진행되고 있으며, 특히 한국의 경우는 매우 빠른 속도로 진행되고 있다. 둘째, 서비스산업 노동생산성은 Baumol의 지적대로 생산기술의 특성상 매우 느리게 증가하고 있으며 이로 인해 제조업과의 격차가 지속적으로 확대되고 있다. 셋째, 그럼에도 불구하고 경제 전체의 노동생산성은 Baumol의 지적과는 달리 정체되지 않고 있으며 이는 서비스 세부산업별로 생산성 격차가 매우 크기 때문으로 판단된다. 넷째, 서비스 세부산업별로도 생산성 격차가 매우 큰데, 제조업에 비해 생산성이 오히려 더 높거나 유사한 정도의 생산성을 보이는 산업도 분명히 존재하며, 노동의 자유로운 이동에 대해 바람직한 방향으로 구조적 변동이 발생한다면 생산성 정체 현상이 나타나지 않을 수도 있다.

The information technology, in the digital economy era, does a very important role not only for the country's administrative management innovation but also for the business and for the everyday life. Specifically, the e-business for the company or organization is defined as "using the Internet and IT, rescheduling of business process management activities to increase productivity and efficiency and to create new business opportunities." Thanks to the Korea's recent efforts, overall level of informatization and digitalization is able to receive high praise. But the e-business readiness (e-readiness) level is still expected a lot of room for improvement. In this paper, I try to analyze the informatization level of Korea's by the EIU's e-business readiness index and IT industry competitiveness index, to prepare a full-scale e-business era of global competitiveness through any preparation that could do to improve the situation from the analysis of statistical data.

$21^{st}$ century has seen a tremendous advancement in the field of Information and Communication Technology. The commercial utilization of Internet tools and technologies has brought change in the traditional working environment. The functioning in an electronic environment is far more complicated than working in traditional environment and this brings many challenges, threats and potential problems. In this paper we analyze the challenges, threats and potential problems in the working environment of Pokhara University due to application of Internet tools and technology. We have chosen four basic areas on the basis of use that include web resources, electronic mails, social sites and P2P technologies. The main focus is to analyze the impact on work place productivity, social interaction, use and abuse of technology and legal issues associated with them. We, finally summarize the findings and offer solutions and recommendations from the observed data based on direct survey conducted in Pokhara University, Nepal.

Semiconductor manufacturing is one of the most complex and capital-intensive processes composed of several hundreds of operations. In today’s competitive business environments, it is more important than ever before to manage manufacturing process effectively to achieve better performances in terms of customer satisfaction and productivity than those of competitors. So, many semiconductor manufacturing companies implement advanced planning and scheduling (APS) system as a management tool for the complex semiconductor manufacturing process. In this study, we explain roles of production planning and scheduling in semiconductor manufacturing and principal factors that make the production planning and scheduling more difficult. We describe the APS system implementation project at Korean semiconductor manufacturing company in terms of key issues with realistic samples.

Recently, the public postal service of Korea confronts with business environment changes such as the opening of postal market and appearance of the domestic competitive enterprises. It is the current state that the public postal service of Korea should have a competitive edge by the productivity improvement of business processes. In this paper, we proposed new working tables for manual letter sorting which is one of the important process in mail center. We suggested standard working method and standard time in a mail center Based on these, we established the procedure for setting up a fair day's work in other mail centers. By the result of this research, we expect that the productivity of the mail sorting operation will be increased.

The rapid deployment of smart mobile equipments such as mobile phones and mobile note pads is considered a driving force to change several aspects of today's work life in organizations. Among all, this paper focuses on organizational collaboration as collaboration is a key aspect of organizational performance and success and is considered to be affected by digitally mediated communication. A questionnaire survey was performed to analyze the impact of the use of modern mobile office technology on productivity increase under the context of organizational collaboration. Some specific functions of mobile office technology were found to significantly affect the productivity. In addition, different requirements for desired collaboration were found to be associated with the use of different functions of mobile office technology and different situational use of the technology. Organizational and technical implications of the findings are discussed.

The main purpose of this study was to examine the sectors of Korean textile complex based on various economic characteristics and performances. The sectors in the textile complex differed in many aspects. Man-made fiber industry showed capital-intensive characteristics even though most of the sectors in the textile complex were labor-intensive. Textile industry is composed of weaving and spinning, knitting, dyeing and finishing sectors and even within the textile industry, each sector had different characteristics from each others. Weaving and spinning sector seemed to require relatively high capital investment, while dyeing and finishing was very labor-intensive. Labor-intensive apparel industry has faced decrease in labor-productivity while wage has increased. Slow growth in labor productivity in Korean textile complex was shown to be a more problem than increase in wage or ratio of labor cost to value added. Apparel companies appeared to be in better financial states than the textile companies, even though the exports of apparel products have decreased in the 1990s. However, in overall the financial states of the Korean textile complex were not as strong as those of the other manufacturing sectors.

Despite the improvement of productivity and cost, the operating of such equipments yet has been recognized as a 3D business which is a low wage and poor working environment business field. Accordingly, the number of such operators has been decreasing by time. Especially, construction equipment demands higher controlling skills and occasionally involved in critical accidents. Therefore, this study aims to suggest a conceptual design for an construction equipment Around View Monitoring system that visually assists the operator for more efficient operating. It is expected that the application of such technology for a construction equipment highly improves the productivity and work quality, moreover, prevents disastrous accidents that occur to labors.

In order to increase productivity, modern business which use the techniques of mass production should progress gradually from to use of human labor to total mechanization in the various steps of the production process. This will not only avoid the prospect of future labor shortages, but will also solve nancy of the problems involved in increasing productivity In this paper, we have approached the problem of determining the number of machine units that can be economically assigned to one operator by using Palm's model.
