Though this change of social environment helps the useful information resource available to expand, it looks like that the rapid inclease in lots of information to gather makes colleges, reseach laboratories and public institutions to spend more man power and money on work of book purchases than before and now. Therefore the most urgent part for the business process reengineering in work of information service center is the business of book purchases. The business of book purchases is the core part in organizations and facilities. It should construct the books which the organigation and facility need in the most economical and efficient way within the range of physically receptive capacity with the limited budget. These organigations and facilities have to establish the policy of the book stock which they should possess and also librarians should endeavour to configure the kernel book stock constantly. I assert that they need to ensure a specialty with the improvement of business process accompanying choosing and purchasing the books. Especially, in a case of purchasing foreign books by request of members like professors, students, researcher and so on they have to replace the business of book purchase using agency with direct dealing using EC. This Business Process Reengineering will cut down on expenses, offer the transparency of book purchases and also give the users confidence. Moreover the Business Process Reengineering make it possible to build well constructed main books and information resource. The people in charge are enabled to acquire the knowledge of subjects with contiuous search for books of a spcial area and self-study. These experts in work will raise the quality of information service. Information service center will be the core in the 21c knowledge industry. To streng then value of it, efficiently run it and control it the existing business of book purchasing should be replace with direct dealing using EC applying the internet.

To accomplish the purpose, this study developed the hypotheses about the positive effects of entrepreneurial competencies on business performance, and the moderating effect of learning competency to strengthen the relationship between entrepreneurial competencies and business performance. The results of this study are as follows. First, the technological functional competency of entrepreneurial teams, the resource utilization and business planning competency of entrepreneurs in the early stage of business development were found to significantly affect both non-financial and technological performance. The opportunity recognition competency has a significantly positive effect on non-financial performance. In addition, it is analyzed that learning competency significantly moderated the relationship between entrepreneurial competencies(technological functional, resource utilization) and non-financial performance. The moderating effect of learning competency between business planning competency and technological performance was also found to be significant. Second, leadership and resource acquisition competency of entrepreneurs in the late stage of ventures have significantly positive effects on both non-financial and technological performance. The strategic competency has a significantly positive effect on non-financial performance. It was also found that the moderating effect of learning competency between strategic competency and non-financial performance was significant. Finally, the results show that both non-financial and technical performance of NTBVs are significant determinants of financial performance.

  • There has been a recent increase in the interest towards founding companies and in line with the South Korean Government's policy on start-up support, discussions are rife about the effect of entrepreneurship on the management and performances of these companies. To enhance the competitiveness of SMEs, it is expedient to acquire and deploy consistent entrepreneurship, differentiate corporate resources, ensure the appropriate utilization of resources and the integration of such factors in response to the changing environment. This research examines relationships among entrepreneurship, three components of corporate capabilities, dynamic capability and technical performance based on resource-based view and the dynamic capability theory. The authors also investigate the moderating role of corporate life cycle. To test the hypothesis, we conducted a survey on 352 technologies -innovative SMEs located in South Korea via professional research institutes. The findings confirm the hypothesis that SMEs' entrepreneurship has a positive effect on three kinds of corporate capabilities (e.g., marketing, R&D, operations capability), and it had a positive effect on dynamic capability, whiles dynamic capability also had an influence on technical performances. The findings also confirmed the hypothesis that corporate life cycle moderates the relationship between dynamic capability and technical performances respectively. The research implications for both practitioners and academicians are discussed.

  • A teaching manual was developed to incorporate the creative problem solving process into a fashion marking course. Students' creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical thinking are promoted by applying the creative problem solving process systematically to solve authentic business problems experienced by local apparel business owners. This teaching manual is based on the FourSight Model that consists of Clarify, Ideate, Develop, and Implement. Various tools promoting divergent thinking are also utilized in the process. A local fashion business is invited as a problem owner and four resource groups are formed with students based on the results of the Kirton Adaption Innovation Inventory. Each resource group consists of 6-8 students. The creative problem solving process is implemented into a classroom setting as four 75-minutes sessions that are held twice a week for two consecutive weeks. The local fashion business owner will be in presence during the first (Clarify) and last (Implement) sessions. The instructor facilitator meets with the problem owner outside the classroom three times including pre-session client interview, after the second (Ideate) session, and before the third (Develop) session. This modified CPS manual for fashion marketing and merchandising courses provides practical guidelines to work with local fashion businesses while providing students with learning opportunities of the creative problem solving process.

  • Indonesian oil palm plantation industry has chance to increase a sustainable competitive advantage. The creation of a sustainable competitive advantage is determined by the ability of the palm oil industry to utilize limited resources and capabilities. The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinants of the creation of sustainable competitive advantage (SCA) in the palm oil industry in Riau, Indonesia. The model framework uses organizational-level SCA dimensions. Four dimensions are used to measure SCA in the palm oil industry in Riau, namely value, scarce resource, inability to replicate, irreplaceable. Questionnaires were distributed to oil palm industry players in Riau with 81 respondents. The analysis technique uses Structural Equation Model with Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results showed that the SCA in the palm oil industry in Riau was at a moderate level. Although the competitive advantage of being sustainable in the palm oil industry in Riau is in the medium category, test results on SCA dimensions found that each latent variable forms a significant SCA framework with a reflective constructive relationship model. The three dominant and recommended dimensions that shape the construction of SCA in the palm oil industry are value, scarce resource, and irreplaceable.
