One of the business in the future will be executed by Business to Business(B to B) model of E-Commerce. The concept of the B to B model composes the work process, people, and supporting environment. The work processes are related to the information process, technologies, and standards. Information process elements contains digital data exchange, data sharing, and collaboration. This paper designed and implemented the XML-based Business Flow Management System(BFMS) for B to B model of E-commerce in the Internet. BFMS in this paper automatically performs the information process for B to B model such as electronic bidding system including purchase order management, bidding management, delivery management to build E-Commerce in the Internet. XML can be used as document standard between business for skating and exchange of data and also provide platform independent environment.

A business process specification (BPS) plays the role of a contracted business scenario in the execution of the B2B business process instances. XML based specification languages, such as BPSS, WS BPEL, etc., are usually adopted for the specifications. However, composing complex XML based specifications are not easy for humans. As an alternative, graphical modeling languages such as UML and BPMN can be employed. This paper presents an UML based modeling method for graphically specifying ebXML BPSS instances (namely, business process specifications). UML diagrams, directly matching with ebXML BPSS, can be reused for understanding and generating ebXML BPSS instances. We discuss the value of the method by developing a business reference library in the area of supply chain management.

In this paper, we present a systematic approach to translating BPML(Business Process Modeling Language) into the ${\pi}-Calculus$. BPML is an executable business process modeling language, like BPEL4WS(Business Process Execution Language for Web Services). It is difficult to find a systematic approach to formalizing these languages; but, by formalizing them, the behavior of the processes can be analyzed and compared so that optimal processes can be designed. For this formalization, we analyzed the activity types and contexts of BPML and suggested the definitions of semantics for each type and context by using the ${\pi}-Calculus$. In addition, we have shown the usefulness of our formalization scheme in that a typical order fulfillment process represented in BPML can be translated into the ${\pi}-Calculus$.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of process approach for business performance of a company certified with ISO 9000 : 2000 quality management system. The result of this empirical research were identified as follows. Documentation and an intelligence process appeared with a preference matter in an influence to reach to a business performance of a company through the organization which established a process approach. It reveals that the process approach of quality management system might affect positively for customer satisfaction, product qualify, financial results and cost reduction.

BPMS (Business Process Management Systems) is aninformation system that systematically supports designing, administrating, and improving the business processes. It can execute the business processes by assigning tasks to human or computer agents according to the predefined definitions of the processes. In this research we developed a task assignment algorithm that can maximize overall process efficiency under the limitation of agents' capacity. Since BPMS manipulates the formal and predictable business processes, we can analyze the processes using queuing theory to achieve overall process efficiency. We first transform the business processes into queuing network model in which the agents are considered as servers. After that, workloads of agents are calculated as server utilization and we can determine the task assignment policy by balancing the workloads. This will make the workloads of all agents be minimized, and the overall process efficiency is achieved in this way. Another application of the results can be capacity planning of agents in advance and business process optimization in reengineering context. We performed the simulation analysis to validate the results and also show the effectiveness of the algorithm by comparing with well known dispatching policies.

Recently construction companies expand position for apartment house in construction market because of house supply rate increase and its amount. In addition, because the focus of house sale market has moved to customer from supplier, the importance of defect management is being issued currently. However, current apartment defect management is not satisfied with customer's demand for the lack of business process management, management organization, information feedback, and readiness for defect in construction phase. To solve this problem, this study proposed business process management improvement model for defect management. Proposed improvement model make information feedback, defect management business quality improvement, and improper process improvement through integrating defect management and quality management. It is expected to contribute to customer's satisfaction improvement and reliance improvement for construction companies.

The purpose of this study is to explore the application sphere of BPM(Business Process Management) to e-trade process using BPM technology and its service architecture in order to expand the usage of e-trade platform which is developing. After close reviewing the current status of trade process, the possibility of BPM application by e-trade process will be analyzed. The result of analysis is that BPM application to local L/C and purchasing confirmation process could be implemented because those processes are very suitable to apply standardized process and can minimize the risk and confusion of users. BPM application to remaining trade process have to be considered by mid-term and long-term project with the reflection of pilot project performance. Also this study suggests a business management model of e-trade process based on BPM technology which is the new IT technology and integrated interface in view of trade community.

Recently, it has been an issue on BPM(Business Process Management, below BPM), which is a sort of business management methods that secures agility and flexibility through sustainable improving and monitoring in a rapid-changing environment. To introduce BPM to construction company we need to set up a procedure for objective, define criteria according to the business structure defined by BPA(Business Process Architecture, below BPA) and analyze works and then select targets. Those BPM target works need to have a close relationship with corporate strategy and to support realizing corporate value. Therefore, this paper will study BPM Target works of construction companies for an effective introduction BPM through questioning from working-level staff. In addition, it will analyze their types and corporate core strategy and BPM target works, then study the main strategy according to BPM target types. And also, this study is expected to help construction companies to choose the business for BPM adoption through analyzing current situation and strategy for business selection when adopting BPM.

WS-BPMS(web service driven business process management system)은 기업 내 또는 비즈니스 파트너들 간의 비즈니스 프로세스를 체계적으로 통합, 관리하여 프로세스를 개선하고 자동화한다. 이는 비즈니스 프로세스를 검색한 후 BPEL4WS, BPML 등의 프로세스 메타모델을 이용하여 새 프로세스를 디자인하고 BPMS위에 전개 실행하는 과정을 거치게 된다. 디자인된 프로세스는 복잡하여 그 실행에 있어 체계적이고 확고한 기반을 바탕으로 운영되어야 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 BPMS의 운영에 있어 pi-calculus를 기반으로 한 structured exception handling 방법론과 transaction 모니터링을 통한 backward recovery 방법을 제시한다.

Business processes are often of long duration, and include internal worker's decision making, which makes business processes to be exposed to many exceptional situations. These properties of business processes makes it difficult to design processes to support uncertainties from internal or external environments. The behavioral properties of business processes mainly depends on the data aspects of business processes. To formalize the data aspect of process modeling, this paper proposes a graph-based model, called Data Dependency Graph (DDG), constructed from dependency relationships specified between business data. The paper also defines a mechanism of describing a set of mapping rules that generates a process model semantically equivalent to a DDG, which is accomplished by allocating data dependencies to component activities.
