The Relationship Between, Situational Factors, Psychological Empowerment and Employee's Attitudes (조직상황 특성, 심리적 임파워먼트 및 구성원 태도간의 관계)

  • To date, the majority of research on empowerment has focussed on the individual job incumbent's psychological experience of empowerment and linking this with various work-related outcomes. However, a model that focuses on individual subjective reactions is at best incomplete if it does not include an examination of the contextual factors that shape those perceptions. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the relationships among situational factors, psychological empowerment and employee's attitudes. The data were collected by questionnaire from a sample of 525 employees who were working at business organizations in Kangwon area. Results indicated that organizational characteristics such as access to information, LMX, and participative climate were positively related to an employee's psychological empowerment. Psychological empowerment was positively related to an employee's job attitudes such as organizational commitment and innovative behavior. Finally, theoretical and practical implications from the results were discussed.

Feasibility Identification on Establishment of Solar Energy (Photovoltaic and Solar Heating) at the Environmental Basic Facilities in Busan (부산시 환경기초시설 내 태양에너지(태양광/태양열) 이용 시설 설치 타당성 확인)

  • With 12 environmental basic facilities (EBF) in Busan, each business place's present situation of the operation of new and renewable energy as well as the feasibility to establish additional systems of utilizing solar energy (photovoltaic power generation system [PPGS] and solar heating system [SHS]) were investigated. Currently, with the environmental basic facilities, the new and renewable energies (such as, waste heat, biogas, PPGS, SHS, and small hydro power) can produce 195 GWh per year as electric power unit. Among the energy sources, except waste heat, biogas (154 GWh/yr) appears as the highest. Next, PPGS is the second most widely used system and produces 5,560 MWh/yr at 11 business places. Through a field survey, it appears that 19 business places of total 27 places at 12 EBFs have good locational conditions and they need an introduction of PPGS. Through it, it is investigated that it would be possible to produce 5,311 MWh/yr and to reduce $2,348tCO_2/yr$. And, it is identified that SHS can be additionally introduced in only 4 EBFs. This can reduce energy cost as much as one ten million won/yr and green-house gas as much as $28tCO_2/yr$. A cost-benefic analysis shows that the use of governmental support or private investment can be the most efficient way, when PPGS and SHS are introduced in EBFs.

  • In this article we consider the modern trends of global warming, GHG pollutions and discussions of the obligations of developed and developing countries before the UN Global Climate Summit in Paris. The article considers decarbonization as a national strategy, including complex tools for the improvement of energy efficiency, reduction of CO2 and development of emissions trading systems. The author underlines that the Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, have the largest GHG potential in the region, and for this reason they should be within the framework of the UNFCCC and join the international process on development of the national decarbonization strategies.Thesemeasuresallowthese countries to join the global carbon trade marketing, international financial recourses, and significantly reduce CO2 pollutions in the region.

  • The Korean government amended the Environmental Technology and Industry Support Act to foster the environment industry and support the advancement of domestic environmental companies into overseas markets. The amended act reflects changes in the government's policies on environment related issues. This paper uses outcomes of research conducted on environmental policies in foreign countries and the current status of the domestic environment industry to present long-term strategic plans and measures to support the expansion of environmental companies into the global markets and to vitalize the environment industry at home. The suggestions for assisting domestic companies in making inroads into overseas markets are as follows: building up and expanding cooperative network; fostering promising companies and exports by making the right choices and focuses; diversification of export markets and strengthening supports for development of new customers; promoting supports for winning overseas projects; and developing cooperative projects to respond to climate change in developing countries using the Global Climate Fund (GCF).

A Study on the Progress of e-Trade and the Factor of the Adoption of bolero.net in Japan

  • In recent years, although far behind, the "e-Trade (B to G)" is propelled vigorously in Japan. But the diffusion of the "e-Trade" among companies (B to B) represented by bolero.net does not meet expectation. This paper carried out the questionnaire survey to the enterprises, which adopt bolero.net and examined why the diffusion is stagnated to the measures for its future spread. As a result, the top 3 adoption factors are: (1) Transaction climate, (2) Top management support, and (3) Operational improvement. In other words, it depends that top management has the will, which adopts e-trade positively among the reliable business partners and the operational performances can improve efficiently by carrying e-trade. We would like to clarify what will be crucial to spur the diffusion in the future. Based on the findings from the result, the concrete key points to promote the spread are to be indicated as follows: (1) Improve the scores of "Cost" and "Competitive pressure" (2) Improve the institutional factor.

A Study on the Estimation of Greenhouse Gas Using Oyster Shell Recycling for Paper Filler

  • This study has conducted greenhouse gas emission reduction test as using Oyster-shells originated PCC paper filler compare to non-Oyster shells used PCC. This examination was estimated and calculated in accordance with both IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) and World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBSCD). The greenhouse gas emission reduction estimation result indicates that, when oyster shells are recycled and used as paper filler, it reduces $27.97tCO_2\;per\;100\;ton$ of oyster shells. It is greenhouse gas emission $44.27tCO_2$ from PCC production changed to carbon emission reduction when replaced with oyster shell. LNG greenhouse gas emission $16.3tCO_2$ in relation to the pre-treatment with oyster shell per 100 ton is also reflected. As a result, it is assumed that roughly $0.2797tCO_2/oyster\;shell{\cdot}ton$.

  • Korean Emission Trading Scheme entered into force on 1 January 2015. As other Emission Trading Systems, Korean Emission Trading System also have some deficiencies to be complemented and improved. Thus, the issues that are related to legal characteristics of emission allowance and its status as a financial instrument, terminology, requisites for the designation of the business entities eligible for allocation, banking and borrowing, and the non-permanence problems in the forestry offset mechanism are reviewed and the directions of the improvement are presented. The review of the Korean Emission Trading Scheme and its relevant act and the presidential decree at its early stage may be helpful for the Korean ETS to be firmly settled and to operate properly.

The Effect of Creating Shared Value (CSV) on Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Case Study of Yuhan-Kimberly Company (공유가치창출(CSV) 활동에 의한 온실가스 감축 효과: 유한킴벌리의 사례를 중심으로)

  • Creating Shared Value (CSV) is a new business paradigm in which enterprises benefit from social works. The goal of this study is to assess greenhouse gas emission reduction through CSV-related activities of Yuhan-Kimberly (YK) Company. YK Company has planted over 50 million trees between 1984 and 2016 as a part of CSV activities. Through planting of trees, annual $CO_2 $ emission reduction ranged from 196.2 thousand to $336.3\;thousand\;tCO_2-eq$ depending on forest type in 2016, representing 44 million to 84 million KRW. Those results indicate that the company can contribute to reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as well as obtain economic profits through CSV-related activities. Furthermore, this study provides motives for other companies interested in similar CSV projects.

An Effect of Work and Life Balance of Startup: Focus on Organizational Pride and Job Satisfaction (창업기업의 일과 삶의 균형 효과: 조직 자부심과 업무 만족)

  • It is important for the Startup team to enhance their employee's work & life balance in recent ages. this study is to research the effect of work & life balance on organizational pride, job satisfaction and performance. Also, we explore how the organizational climate which compose with autonomy, leader's support and trust affects work & life balance. This study analyzed the path effect with PLS method using data from 151 Startup teams. The results of analysis are as follows. First, it was confirmed that supervisor's support, trust of team climate positively influence work & life balance but autonomy is not confirmed to have the relationship with work & life balance. Second, work & life balance have a positive effect on organizational pride and job satisfaction. In addition, this study shows that organizational pride and job satisfaction have the relationship between work & life balance and team performance. Also, Startup team managing the work & life balance will get better performance and retain the competition.

  • A safe working environment is an important and crucial factor in the operation of a firm, and is also essential for logistics companies in supply chain management. This study confirmed that the safety climate and safety prevention activities have a positive relationship with safety behavior from the perspective of domestic small and medium-sized logistics companies that continue their business relationships by signing contracts with large logistics companies. In addition, the moderating role of regulatory uncertainty and competition uncertainty in the previous positive relationship was empirically examined.
