Establishment about Service Level and Evaluation Model of Bus Stop (버스 정류장의 서비스 수준 및 평가모델 구축에 관한 연구)

  • Bus stop is necessary to improve user-focused environment to offer convenient service because of the large number of passengers. This study is to analyze user's evaluation and establishment model of the service levels at bus stop using GAP analysis, IPA and Structural equation model and suggests improvement direction of bus stop. In the GAP analysis, on thirty-one service items of bus stop, the difference appeared highly from the items such as obstacle's facility and the information related to the using bus. In the current IPA service bus operation information, cadence facility and obstacle support facility need to be improved. And in service expectation bus operation information and th exchange facility, the obstacle support facility need to be improved continuously. The evaluation model of bus stop service due to a structure equation's was fitted well by structure equation. In overall satisfaction on bus stop, the waiting satisfaction is more affect the satisfaction of bus use facility. Satisfaction in bus use facility, the related information of bus operation, cadence facility, bus operation information and trans facility, obstacle support facility is more affect compare to other items. The lower overall satisfaction in bus stop is the higher the expectation of overall satisfaction is. Therefore, the information of bus operation and the support facility for the handicapped needs an active improvement plan than ever.

Design and Implementation of Low-Floor Bus Reservation System for the Transportation Weak (교통약자를 위한 저상버스 탑승 예약 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • Low-floor buses service in Korea has been spreading nationwide for transportation users with wheelchair since 2004. However, there is a lot of difficulty in using this information because the low-floor bus information is insufficient. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the service of using low-floor buses for the transportation weak in order to increase the usage rate of low-floor buses for those who use wheelchairs. In this paper, we designed and implemented a low-floor bus reservation system to provide low-floor bus service and low-floor bus reservation service to improve low-floor bus service of wheelchair users. The application of this system is expected to provide a better service to the transportation weak people using low - floor buses.

IoT Bus System for Passenger Safety and Convenience Service Improvement (승객 안전과 편의 서비스 개선을 위한 IoT 버스 시스템)

  • As the use of public transportation is increasing, a service considering the convenience of passengers is being launched utilizing the Internet (IoT) data collected through the bus information system. However, the bus information system only provides limited information such as the current location of the bus (GPS) and the expected arrival time at the stop. Additional IoT sensor information is needed to provide various services for the safety and convenience of passengers. In this paper, to improve the safety and convenience of passengers, we have added the boarding doors imaging sensor, temperature and humidity sensors, and sensor for measuring the number of passengers. The proposed IoT bus system can attach various sensors to buses to provide high-quality safety services to passengers.

The Decision of Order Priority of HUD Contents for Public Transit (대중교통 HUD 콘텐츠 우선순위 결정에 관한 연구)

  • PURPOSES: In this study, as part of an effort to develop HUD for public transit, it is proposed that the decision of order priority of contents which will be disposed to bus drivers through HUD for public transit using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) technique. METHODS: In AHP analysis method brainstorming, factor analysis, hierarchical structuring, and weighting analysis were performed by applying a classical analysis method. RESULTS: By the result of analysis it is shown that unlike car drivers, bus drivers prefer information related to bus intervals, bus stop, and door open and close to information related to vehicle running. Also, bus stop information and bus interval information were ranked as first and second place in order priority of HUD contents for public transit by experts. CONCLUSIONS: This method of selecting order priority of HUD contents for public transit can provide a basic foundation for selecting order priority of traffic information contents as well as other HUD contents.

Automatic Detection and Analysis of Desktop Bus'(D-Bus) Privilege Bypass in Tizen (타이젠 용 데스크톱 버스 (D-Bus) 권한 우회 취약점 분석 및 자동 탐지)

  • Wearable devices, such as a smart watch and a wrist band, store owner's private information in the devices so that security in a high level is required. Applications developed by third parties in Tizen request for an access to designated services through the desktop bus (D-Bus). The D-Bus verifies application's privileges to grant the request for an access. We developed a fuzzing tool, so-called DAN (the D-bus ANalyzer), to detect errors in implementations for privilege verifications and access controls within Tizen's system services. The DAN has found a number of vulnerable services which granted accesses to unauthorized applications. We built a proof-of-concept application based on those findings to demonstrate a bypass in the privilege examination.

Design of Safety School Bus System Using RFID (RFID를 활용한 안전 스쿨버스 시스템 설계)

  • As the use of school buses becomes more common, related laws are being enacted, such as making it mandatory for children to check school bus dropouts due to frequent accidents caused by the negligence of school bus drivers and their guardians. In this paper, we propose a safe school bus system that links efficient radio-frequency identification (RFID) and mobile APP in terms of energy utilization and cost. The school bus system uses RFID cards to check information on children boarding the school bus, and real-time SMS transmission allows parents to safely send their children to and from school. Instructors on the school bus can check their children's disembarkation information once more through APP, preventing various accidents that may occur to children left on the bus. Due to the automation of the school bus operation log, daycare center teachers can not only check the information on getting on and off, but also manage the information on the attendance and discharge of the students.

  • Many large cities in Korea have implemented or planed to implement a bus information system(BIS) to improve service quality for bus Passengers, mainly by Providing bus arrival time at bus stations. In those systems, similar systematic errors to estimate the bus arrival time occur, which are caused by the cycle time to identify each bus location, the information processing time of the center system, and the cycle time to update the bus arrival information on each terminal. This paper investigated each cause sequentially and estimated three expectations related to the above three causes, respectively using the random incidence concept. Through a validation using real data from a BIS in a city in Korea, fairly amount of improvements on the bus arrival time estimation have been observed.

  • As ICT technology develops, researches on the construction of communication system for the rapid processing using ICT technology in case of traffic accidents are actively under way. e-Call (Emergency call) is a vehicle ICT-based emergency rescue system that recognizes and reports traffic accidents. On the other hand, the existing bus information system collects the positioning data through the position tracking system mounted on the bus and transmits it to the center, and then provides various services based on the bus information of the collected buses. In this paper, we designed and implemented an emergency rescue system that using the existing bus information system in order to deal with accidents, failures, and emergency situations on public buses quickly.

Determining locations of bus information terminals (BITs) in rural areas based on a passenger round-trip pattern (왕복통행 특성을 이용한 지방부 버스정보안내기(BIT) 지점 선정)

  • This study proposed a method to determine the number and location of bus information terminals (BIT), which is a device to provide passengers with bus arrival time at bus stops in a Bus Information System (BIS). In low-density area, it is not efficient to survey bus demands such as the number of passengers at all bus stops due to time and cost. This kind of a survey would, however, competently cover all bus stops if performed inside the bus. The number of riding-on and -off passengers is observed for every bus stop, and this data collection is repeated over all day. Data obtained from the survey are aggregated each bus stop. This study defines Utility Index (UI), an aggregate each bus stop. Bus stops are ranked according to UI and determined for a BIT within budget limitation. As a case study, a bus line in Jeju island, Korea, was dealt with. This case showed that the more aggregate the better data quality. This study is expected to contribute to solving a location problem of BITs in a BIS.
