연료전지 버스용 공기공급시스템 개발 (Development of Air Supply System for Fuel Cell Electric Bus)

  • FCEV uses electric energy which generated from the reaction between Hydrogen and Oxygen in fuel cell stack as driving force. As fossil fuels are exhausted, fuel cell is regarded as a potent substitute for next generation energy source, and thus, most of car-makers make every efforts to develop fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV). In addition, fuel cell is also beneficial in aspect of environment, because only clean water is produced during chemical reaction process instead of harmful exhausted gas. Generally, Hydrogen is supplied from high-pressured fuel tank, and air blower (or compressor) supply Oxygen by pressurizing ambient air. Air blower which is driven by high speed motor consumes about $7{\sim}8$ % of energy generated from fuel cell stack. Therefore, the efficiency of an air blower is directly linked with the performance of FCEV. This study will present the development process of an air blower and its consisting parts respectively.

  • This paper addresses the design and implementation problem of the mobile robot with the synchronous driving mechanism that consists of modular control systems based on the Universal Serial Bus (USB). Recently, the USB have attracted the hardware developers'interests due to its low cost, compatibility, and extenability. In particular, the USB enables us to organize the whole system in the modular manner very easily, and this property plays a very important role in shortening the developing time in implementing the target system, for example, the mobile robot system. In this paper, we implement the USB motion controller and the USB ultrasonic sensor system and verified the validity and the effectiveness of the proposed system through the real experiments including the mobile robot navigation and the environment recognition.

  • Real time communication is very important in factory automation system using FieldBus. In this paper, we Propose the method to drive dual motors with one controller using CAN In traditional induction motor control technique, two independent Inverters are used to drive dual motors independently. In this case, two controllers are needed. Our proposed dual motors control scheme which use only one microprocessor has many advantages in the view of economic and performance compared to conventional technique.

  • This paper describes on studies of the heavy duty engine calibration for better fuel economy based on real driving conditions. Using testbed validated software simulation of the engine and turbocharger system, an alternative turbocharger specification, with potential to improve fuel economy was identified. Secondly, the engine calibration was modified to optimize vehicle fuel economy over a typical customer drive cycle whilst still meeting the steady-state (testbed) emissions legislation. These results were confirmed by field testing of a vehicle equipped with the updated specifications. This study found good agreements between the prediction and the field test on the vehicle fuel economy improvements of the express bus with updated calibration and turbocharger.

바이모달 트램의 직렬형 하이브리드 추진계 성능검토 (Design study of series hybrid propulsion system for a bimdal tram)

  • A bimodal low-floor tram is designed to provide the flexibility of bus and the punctuality of trains together to the passengers. Its propulsion system is a series hybrid type using a set of CNG engine generator and Li-polymer battery. The present paper describes the specifications of the propulsion system in the bimodal tram which was drawn by a desirable driving cycle. In addition, it shows how the propulsion system of the bimodal tram can be controlled. With using a computer simulation tool of hybrid vehicles, ADVISOR, the performance of the bimodal tram was verified.

A Study of Mobile Edge Computing System Architecture for Connected Car Media Services on Highway

  • The new mobile edge network architecture has been required for an increasing amount of traffic, quality requirements, advanced driver assistance system for autonomous driving and new cloud computing demands on highway. This article proposes a hierarchical cloud computing architecture to enhance performance by using adaptive data load distribution for buses that play the role of edge computing server. A vehicular dynamic cloud is based on wireless architecture including Wireless Local Area Network and Long Term Evolution Advanced communication is used for data transmission between moving buses and cars. The main advantages of the proposed architecture include both a reduction of data loading for top layer cloud server and effective data distribution on traffic jam highway where moving vehicles require video on demand (VOD) services from server. Through the description of real environment based on NS-2 network simulation, we conducted experiments to validate the proposed new architecture. Moreover, we show the feasibility and effectiveness for the connected car media service on highway.

고위험군 운전자의 운행행태 판단기술 개발 (Development of technology in estimating of high-risk driver's behavior)

  • 교통사고의 발생의 주요 원인의 대부분은 운전자의 법규 위반 행위이며, 특히 과속 및 불법유턴은 대형 사고로 이어질 잠재적 위험성을 내포한다. 사업용 차량의 경우 불법유턴 위험성에 대한 지각이 부족하고, 단속장비 및 감시 인력 또한 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 사업용 운전자의 불법유턴 위반행위를 예방하고, 안전운행 습관을 유도하고자, 맵 연동기반 운행행태 판단 기술을 개발에 대해 소개한다. 이를 위해 전국 총 26만개 링크자료 중 23,782 건의 유턴 허용 정보와 14만 6천 건의 제한속도 정보를 수집하였다. 또한 운행행태 분석을 위해 판단알고리즘을 구축하였으며, 최종적으로 안드로이드 기반 애플리케이션을 개발하였다. 개발된 애플리케이션의 맵 매칭, 운행행태 판단 및 기타 데이터 산출의 정확도를 평가하기 위해 테스트를 수행하였으며, 분석결과 맵 매칭은 86%, 운행행태 판단 정확도는 83%로 평가되었다. 또한 정보출력 표출에 대한 정확도는 모두 100%로 평가되었다. 향후 과제로서는 기술의 정확도 향상을 위해 모니터링 시스템 설계가 필요할 것으로 판단되며, 개발된 기술을 활용할 수 있는 서비스 시나리오의 검토가 필요하다고 판단된다.

EV/HEV용 모터 구동 시스템의 Noise 예측을 위한 통합 시뮬레이션에 대한 연구 (Total Simulation for the Noise Prediction of Motor Driving System in EV/HEV System)

  • 본 연구에서는 배터리 내부의 회로 모델링, 다이나믹 다이오드를 이용한 인버터, 2-D EM Tool을 이용한 모터의 해석 결과를 합친 EV/HEV용 모터 구동시스템의 통합 시뮬레이션 방법을 제안한다. 배터리의 모델링을 위해서 충전상태(DOD: Depth of Discharge)에 따라서 변화하는 인덕턴스, 저항, 캐패시턴스 성분을 AC 임피던스 분석법을 이용하여 산출하였으며, 역회복 시간이 반영된 다이나믹 다이오드를 사용하여 인버터를 모델링하였다. 모터의 특성은 매입형 영구 자석 모터의 EM 필드 해석을 Ansys Maxwell 15.0 버전을 사용하여 모델링하였다. 즉, 배터리 및 인버터의 회로 모델과 EM 필드 해석을 통한 모터 해석 모델을 통합한 시뮬레이션 방법을 제시하고, 전체의 통합 모델링을 Ansys Simplorer 10.0 버전을 사용하여 수행하였다. 그리고 이를 통하여 EV/HEV 모터 구동회로의 전도성 노이즈 스펙트럼 분석을 수행하였고, 그 분석 결과가 정성적으로 유의미함을 확인하였다.

우리나라 이동오염원의 제어기술의 동향과 발전방안 (Air Pollutants Control Technique Trends for Transportation Sources in Korea)

  • The major source of harmful air pollutants in Korea have been shifted as economy grows. Particulate matter(PM) and Sulfur dioxide ($SO_2$) emitted from industries and coal-fired domestic sectors were important pollutants in 1970's and later industrializing period of Korea. Then the characteristic of pollution was changed into so-called "developed country type pollution". Vehicles have been responsible for significant amount of Nitric oxide ($NO_x$) pollution and consequent Ozone formation in urban area since 1990's. Variety of control measures have been introduced to deal with the vehicle emissions in Seoul Metropolitan Area (SMA). Emission control technologies have successfully reduced pollutants from vehicles. Three-way catalyst for vehicles fueled by gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), for example, has achieved large amount of pollutants. Compressed natural gas (CNG) urban bus have penetrated existing diesel bus market and reduces PM and $NO_x$ emissions in many Korean cities. However, diesel vehicles are still reaming as a critical emission source of urban area. Diesel vehicles gain more popularity than ever because of their better fuel efficiency and driving power. Unfortunately, it is widely known that the pollutant emissions of diesel vehicles are much larger than those of gasoline and LPG vehicles. In this note, we briefly introduce the trends of emission control strategies which are accomplished by automotive industries for about last ten years. Emission regulation, cleaner fuel, diesel particulate filter (DPF) and other measures are discussed from technical as well as legislative perspectives.
