An Allium-odorum is difficult material to handle because it is soft and weak mechanically. For bundling work of allium-odorum, we must grip in the bundle shape of unit weight. However it is difficult to grip allium-odorum by hand because the bundle bulk is very big. Especially, in packing work, the bundle shape of allium-odorum package is more important than other vegetables because the sale price depend on the bundle shape. In this paper, we propose bundling mechanism for a rectangular shape, and semi-auto bundling mechanism by a eccentric roller and a triangular link. We carry out mechanical model and analysis respectively using the CATIA V5 and SimDesigner. We have manufactured the prototype of the semi-automatic bundling machine, and got satisfied result through field test. This machine is in the process of commercialization.

In this paper, it has been proposed an automatic vegetable bundling mechanism that makes use of heat melt sticking. The proposed mechanism is consisted of three modules for the rationality of manufacture. Design specification has been determined by the bundling mechanism that was optimized mechanically. And, it has been manufactured the prototype of the automatic bundling machine. It has been carried out directly the field test for verification of performance in farmhouse which produces vegetable. In field test, this bundling machine showed efficiency of about 3.6 times than the manual working by manpower, and other performance it got satisfied result. This automatic vegetable-bundling machine was already registered as the agricultural machine. and This machine will be commercialized soon.
The developed final shattering machine for labor-saving mechanization of shattering of sesame consisted of input part, shattering part, re-shattering part for unshattered pod and pneumatic sorter. The bundle of sesame was held as upside down and fed into the machine continuously. Then, the fed bundle of sesame was shattered by side shock and agitation. The performance of shattering for the sun dried bundle of sesame of conventional manual work and final shattering machine was compared. Since the shattering ratio measured by the final machine was 97.2% at the first operation, in case of fully dried sesame by drying stand, the harvest of sesame can be completed by only one time shattering operation. The work hour per area of 10 a for the mechanical work and the manual work were 0.3 hour and 13.9 hour, respectively. The total shattering ratio of the final machine with vertical feedings of bundle of sesames was 97.2%.

The bundling process is the final step in vegetable manufacturing, however, the process is a little difficult to be automatized, because vegetable has the physical properties of roughness, softness, and fragility etc. In this paper, we proposed an automatic bundling mechanism for vegetable based on the heat melt sticking. The proposed mechanism consists of three modules, one module is the moving part for aligning of the vegetable shape and adjusting of the vegetable tension, second module is the arm driving part for the vegetable binding and the band roll releasing, and third module is band joining, band cutting, and band feeding part for the vegetable binding continuously. Through this research, Using the SMO(SimDesigner Motion) module, we optimize condition of mechanical movement of the bundling mechanism. This bundling system designed in order to binding 288 bundle/hour.
Purpose: Online food delivery platforms face challenges to operational efficiency due to increasing demand, a shortage of drivers, and the constraint of a one-order-at-a-time delivery policy. It is imperative to find solutions to address the inefficiencies in the food delivery industry. Bundling multiple orders can help resolve these issues, but it requires complex computations due to the exponential increase in possible order combinations. Research design, data and methodology: This study proposes three bundle delivery systems-static, dynamic, and hybrid-utilizing a machine learning-based classification model to reduce the number of order combinations for efficient bundle computation. The proposed systems are analyzed through simulations using market data from South Korea's online food delivery platforms. Results: Our findings indicate that implementing bundle systems extends service coverage to more customers, increases average driver earnings, and maintains lead times comparable to standalone deliveries. Additionally, the platform experiences higher service completion rates and increased profitability. Conclusions: This suggests that bundle systems are cost-effective and beneficial for all stakeholders in online food delivery platforms, effectively addressing the inefficiencies in the industry.
A 4-bundle shift refuelling method of CANDU6 F/H (Fuel Handling) System is analyzed to assess the operational flexibility and capacity of F/H system. The current 8-bundle shift refuelling scheme requires to refuel eight fuel bundles from a single fuel channel, and to refuel 14 fuel channels in a week on average assuming that the reactor is in a steady state. The analysis showed that the 4-bundle shift refuelling method increases F/M (Fuelling Machine) duty cycle and operator load. However, the fuellin’g method change from the 8- to 4-bundle shift refuelling ill not require additional team of operators. A marginal increase in the maintenance cost may be resulted in by the change of fuelling method and the increase of fatigue usage factors requires some components to be replaced during the FM lifetime.

In this study, the methodology for the fatigue life prediction using finite element method(FEM) in wire, bundle and assembly level of the wire harness system and the development of the fatigue life test machine for the numerical analysis are investigated. To obtain stress-life(S-N) histories of the componential wires of the system, five kinds of wires are prepared and applied to the repeated bending motion using developed fatigue life test equipment. Equivalent model of the wire from the rule of mixtures theory is used for the material modeling of sheath and wire core combination. Contact conditions among the wires, taping conditions are established through the bundle level test and numerical bundle analysis. Wire and bundle level results are adopted for the assembly level analysis. For the assembly level analysis, real wire harness system including bundle and grommet is numerically modeled and applied contact condition between wires with real opening motion. The fatigue life more than 700,000 cycles of the assembly is obtained from the FEM, and it is confirmed that the result has good agreement with the experimental result.

As a valid numerical method to obtain a high-resolution result of a flow field, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) have been widely used to study coolant flow and heat transfer characteristics in fuel rod bundles. However, the time-consuming, iterative calculation of Navier-Stokes equations makes CFD unsuitable for the scenarios that require efficient simulation such as sensitivity analysis and uncertainty quantification. To solve this problem, a reduced-order model (ROM) based on proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) and machine learning (ML) is proposed to simulate the flow field efficiently. Firstly, a validated CFD model to output the flow field data set of the rod bundle is established. Secondly, based on the POD method, the modes and corresponding coefficients of the flow field were extracted. Then, an deep feed-forward neural network, due to its efficiency in approximating arbitrary functions and its ability to handle high-dimensional and strong nonlinear problems, is selected to build a model that maps the non-linear relationship between the mode coefficients and the boundary conditions. A trained surrogate model for modes coefficients prediction is obtained after a certain number of training iterations. Finally, the flow field is reconstructed by combining the product of the POD basis and coefficients. Based on the test dataset, an evaluation of the ROM is carried out. The evaluation results show that the proposed POD-ROM accurately describe the flow status of the fluid field in rod bundles with high resolution in only a few milliseconds.
There are 4 CANDU6 type reactors operating at Wolsong site. For fuelling operation of certain fuel channels (with flow less than 21.5 kg/s) a FARE flow Assist Ram Extension) device is used. During the refuelling operation, two remote controlled F/Ms (Fuelling Machines) are attached to a designated fuel channel and carry out refuelling job. The upstream F/M inserts new fuel bundles into the fuel channel while the downstream F/M discharges spent fuel bundles. In order to assist fuelling operation of channels that has lower coolant How rate, the FARE device is used instead of F/M C-ram to push the fuel bundle string. The FARE device is essentially a How restricting element that produces enough drag force to push the fuel bundle string toward downstream F/M. Channels that require the use of FARE device for refuelling are located along the outside perimeter of reactor. This paper presents the FARE device design feature, steady state hydraulic and operational characteristics and behavior of the device when coupled with fuel bundle string during fuelling operation. The study showed that the steady state performance of FARE device meets the design objective that was confirmed by downstream F/M C-ram force to be positive.
