  • Recently, in order to achieve high flexibility of manufacture, monitoring and control strategies of a new type have been developed. Since the generation of built-up edge on the cutting tool damages the surface finish of the workpiece, the monitoring system of built-up edge is an important process monitoring. In this study, the analyzing methods of cutting force signal to detect the built-up edge during cutting process are described. The cutting force signals are analyzed using the mean, standard deviation and mean to standard deviation of this cutting signals. We can obtain the guide to detect the built-up edge during turning process.

목재 조립보 헤더의 휨 성능 분석 (Analysis of Bending Performance of Built-up Beam Headers)

  • 경골목조건축공법에서 개구부의 헤더로 많이 사용되는 조립보에 대한 설계자료를 구하기 위하여 $2{\times}6$ ($38{\times}140 mm$), $2{\times}8$ ($38{\times}184 mm$), $2{\times}10$ ($38{\times}235 mm$) 및 $2{\times}12$ ($38{\times}286 mm$) 부재를 3개 겹쳐서 휨 시험편을 제작하였다. 이들에 대한 휨 시험을 통하여 조립보에 대한 허용응력을 구하고 허용응력에 근거하여 여러 가지 하중 조건에 대한 경간표를 작성하였다. 조립보에 대한 휨 시험 결과로부터 10 mm의 처짐이 발생할 때의 휨응력을 조립보 헤더의 휨강도로 산정하였다. 조립보에 대한 경간표는 외벽에서 헤더가 사용되는 위치에 따른 5가지 하중조건과 내벽에서 헤더가 사용되는 위치에 따른 2가지 하중조건을 고려하여 작성할 수 있는 것으로 생각된다. 총 7가지 하중 조건에 있어서 외벽에 사용되는 헤더에 대한 5가지 하중조건에서는 고정하중, 활화중 및 적설하중이 포함되었으며 내벽에 사용되는 헤더에 대한 2가지 하중조건에서는 고정하중과 활하중이 포함되었다.

A numerical method for buckling analysis of built-up columns with stay plates

  • A new numerical model based on the spline finite strip method is presented here for the analysis of buckling of built-up columns with and without end stay plates. The channels are modelled with spline finite strips while the connecting elements are represented by a 3D beam finite element, for which the stiffness matrix is modified in order to ensure complete compatibility with the strips. This numerical model has the advantage to give all possible failure modes of built-up columns for different boundary conditions. The end stay plates are also taken into account in this method. To validate the model a comparative study was carried out. First, a general procedure was chosen and adopted. For each numerical analysis, the lowest buckling loads and modes were calculated. The basic or "pure" buckling modes were identified and their critical loads were compared with solutions obtained using analytical methods and/or other numerical methods. The results showed that the proposed numerical model can be used in practice to study the elastic buckling of built-up columns. This model is considered accurate and efficient for the local buckling of short columns and global buckling for slender columns.

수도권 내 개발계획관련 요소와 산림파편화 관계분석을 통한 관리방안 (Management Plan of Relationship between Land Development and Forest Fragmentation in Metropolitan Area)

  • Recently, reckless exploitation of land resources without much consideration for the environmental value of the land has been witnessed to accommodate the ever-increasing demands for regional development. Fragmentation due to land development is a major reason for the declining biodiversity in forest ecosystems. The purposes of this study were (1) to investigate the relationship between the factors of land development and forest fragmentation in 13 watersheds of a metropolitan area and (2) to suggest a forest management plan through the relationship. We carried out a factor analysis to determine explanatory axes of forest fragmentation, and then conducted a correlation analysis between the factor scores and the factor of land development, such as the rate of built-up areas, road density, number of built-up patches, and area of housing developments. The first explanatory axis represented stability of landscape highly related with the rate of the built-up area and road density. The second axis represented the level of fragment highly related with a number of built-up patches. Forest fragmentation patterns of the 13 watersheds were classified for the similarity in forest fragmentation. This study presents the forest management plans including distribution and level of land development and forest conservation.

HCSR 기반 T형 조립부재의 최소중량설계 (Minimum Weight Design of Built-up T Based on HCSR)

  • 선체구조의 보강재로서 비대칭 단면재인 L 형강재가 대칭 단면재인 T형 조립부재(built-up T)에 비해 단면 비틀림 현상 등 다소 불리한 강도 특성에도 불구하고 오랜 관습과 자재 구입의 용이성 등으로 널리 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 근래 선박이 대형화 되어감에 따라 보강재의 형태는 압출 형강재의 사용이 줄고 다양한 설계 치수를 반영하여 용접을 통해 직접 제작하는 조립부재의 적용이 늘어가는 추세이다. 본 연구의 목적은 점차 사용량이 증대되고 있는 조립형 보강재의 효율적인 적용을 위한 최적설계 프로그램을 개발하는데 있다. 최적화 알고리즘으로는 선박 및 해양구조물의 최적설계에 많이 적용되고 있는 진화전략 기법을 선정하였다. 최적설계 결과의 실용성을 위해 부식여유를 고려한 총두께 개념을 설계변수와 목적함수에 도입하였고, 제한조건에는 최근 발효된 통합공통구조규칙(HCSR, Harmonized Common Structural Rules)을 적용하였다. 개발된 최적화 프로그램을 이용하여 최근 수주된 300K VLCC와 158K COT의 실선 설계를 수행한 결과 각각 144톤, 60톤의 중량 절감 효과를 얻었으며 대형 선박일수록 중량 절감 효과가 크게 나타남을 확인하였다.

루트간격이 용접부의 기계적 성질과 미세조직에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Root Gap on Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of Weldment)

  • Dimensional difference by welding deformation is usually occurred at steel bridge manufacturting or multi-pass welding used at joining of thick plates. Be this, root gap out of standard is frequently developed at butt weld joints. For example, although standard root gap below 6mm at butt weld joints of plates under 15mm thickness, maximum 30mm root opening is developed at the weld field. At this case, 24mm parts out of standard is generally built up. But, there are no accumulated data and restriction about this built up welding pars. In this study, therefore, the accumulation of data for built up parts and the verification of the mechanical properties of weld part as root gap is performed. It is included that tensile, bending, impact, hardness test and microstructural review for each welding specimen of 0mm, 6mm, 30mm root opening.

Effect of stiffened element and edge stiffener in strength and behaviour of cold formed steel built-up beams

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of stiffened element and edge stiffener in the behaviour and flexural strength of built-up cold-formed steel beams. An experimental and analytical analysis of CFS channel sections in four different geometries is conducted, including simple channel sections, a stiffened channel section with or without edge stiffeners. Nonlinear finite element models are developed using finite element analysis software package ANSYS. The FEA results are verified with the experimental results. Further, the finite element model is used for parametric studies by varying the depth, thickness, and the effect of stiffened element, edge stiffener and their interaction with compression flanges on stiffened built-up cold-formed steel beams with upright edge stiffeners. In addition, the flexural strength predicted by the finite element analysis is compared with the design flexural strength calculated by using the North American Iron and Steel Institute Specifications for cold-formed steel structures (AISI: S100-2007) and suitable suggestion is made.

Built-up H형강의 소재특성 및 용접성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Material Properties and Welding Performance of Built-up H-beam)

  • 단면을 자유롭게 제작할 수 있는 Built-up H형강(BH)의 사용이 점점 증대하고 있다. 본 연구는 BH의 규격화를 위한 기초연구로 SM490, SM520 강재의 항복강도, 인장강도, 연신율, 샤르피 흡수에너지 등의 소재특성을 확인하였다. 또한 single-SAW 및 tandem-SAW를 활용하여 6개의 BH 공시체를 제작하였으며, 공시체에서 매크로시험편, T바 인장실험체를 채취하여 용접성능을 확인하였다. 소재특성시험 결과 국내산 SM490, SM520 강재의 특성은 모두 KS를 만족하였으며, 용접성능실험 결과 BH의 용접부는 충분한 용접성능을 갖추었다고 판단할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서 사용된 국내산 SM490, SM520 강재는 BH의 소재로 적합한 것으로 판단되며, single-SAW, tandem-SAW는 충분한 용접성능을 발휘하는 것으로 사료된다.

$CO_2$아크 스폿 용접법에 의한 조립보의 굽힘강도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Bending Strength of a Built-up Beam Fabricated by the $CO_2$ Arc Spot Welding Method)

  • In this study, bending test was performed on the real-scale, built-up beam test model fabricated by the $CO_2$ arc spot welding to evaluate the applicability of the welding method to the production of the stiffened plate in car-carrying ship. The built-up beam models which were fixed at both ends in longitudinal direction or simply supported to the rigid foundation, depending on the restraint condition of the corresponding car decks considered, were subjected to simulated design vehicle loads or concentrated point loads. During the test, the central deflection and the longitudinal bending stresses were measured from several points on the longitudinal flange face to predict the section properties of the built-up beams. The longitudinal bending stress on each spot weld were also measured to calculate the average horizontal shear force subjected to spot welds. Test results revealed that the shear strength of spot welds with their current weld nugget size and welding pitch was adequate enough to withstand the horizontal shear forces under the design vehicle loads. Although the built-up beam fabricated by the arc spot welding was a discontinuous beam, its mechanical behavior was well explained by the continuous beam theory using the effective breadth of plate. Based on test results, the criterion for the size of spot weld of which the average shear stress might meet the allowable stress requirement of AWS Code could be established.

시가화지역 토지이용유형별 피복현황 분석을 통한 생태면적률 적용 방안 연구 (A Study on the Adaptation Method of Biotope Area Factor by Land-use Type in the Built-up Area)

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the propriety of the Biotope Area Factor's(BAF) application and propose an improvement plan. The BAP system, initially started by Seoul metropolitan city, is being settled in Korea. The BAF originated from the Biotop $Fl{\ddot{a}}chen$ Faktor(BFF) system of Berlin Germany. It was established as part of the Landscape Plan for the ecological function recovery in the high density built-up area with a sense of environmentally friendly urban management. The study compared the BAF's present condition of Ganddong-Gu, Seoul with Seoul's BAF system. Some problems appeared from the system application. Firstly, it may cause ecological damage if the site ranges are more than current BAF system limits. Secondly, the application of the current BAF system has the possibility of general redevelopment, but the partial improvement considering current standards of the high density built-up area's paving section is impossible. Lastly, division of the application object and application type are not divided well. In addition, the Seoul BAF which is currently applied across the board is based on the destruction of the natural area and low density built-up area. Accordingly, to improve these problems requires a complementary system protecting the ecological function prior to the application of the BAF and with restricted application to high density of BAF system built-up area.
