BIM기반 건축물 인허가 신청을 위한 정보 관리방안 (A Method of Information Management for BIM Based Building Permission)

  • Around the world, BIM application has been mandated. In Korea, an announcement was made in 2016 that BIM application will be required for all public constructions ordered by the Public Procurement Service. However, BIM cannot be used for building permits as Seumter, a building permit system, doesn't support BIM, even if it was used for building design. To utilize BIM for permit application, this study introduces a method of management for BIM-used permit application information. It was done by analyzing the data entered for new building permit application in Seumter. For the analysis, the permit application information is classified as internal BIM information and external BIM information and the required information is defined. To easily create and utilize the data types at the design stage, this study introduces a method of creating and utilizing a permit template. Also, this study developed a tool for combining the area information to add up all the related information such as gross floor area and floor area ratio. This study is significant in that it analyzes the required information for new building permit application among all the permit application types in Korea.

서술부의 함수체계화를 통한 인허가관련 건축법규의 자동검토 응용방안 (Development of High-level Method for Representing Explicit Verb Phrases of Building Code Sentences for the Automated Building Permit System of Korea)

  • As building information modeling (BIM) is expanding its influence in various fields of architecture, engineering, construction and facility management (AEC-FM) industry, BIM-based automated code compliance checking has become possible prospects. For the automated code compliance checking, requirements in building code need to be processed into explicit representation that enables automated reasoning. This paper aims to develop high-level methods that translate verb phrases into explicit representation. The high-level methods represent conditions, properties, and related actions of the building objects and clarify the core content of the constraints. The authors analyze building permit requirements in Korea Building Code and establish a standardized process of deriving the high-level methods. As a result, 60 kinds of the high-level methods were derived. In addition, method classification, analysis, and application are introduced. This study will contribute to the representation of explicit building code sentences and establishment of the automated building permit system of Korea.

BIM 기반 인허가 요구정보 생성 방안 (Methodology for Generating Information Requirements for BIM-based Building Permit Process)

  • Using BIM (Building Information Modeling)-based design information to analyze various engineering processes has been widely adopted in construction projects. However, since typical building permit processes often require traditional 2D-based design information for submission and to obtain building approval, there are some challenges in delivering such data thru BIM-based design information. This paper proposed a methodology to generate and meet information requirements for permit applications and approvals based on BIM-based design information. To that end, we analyzed the required information necessary to make submissions for building approvals using the Seumter system. We then suggested a process to collect the required information from BIM-based data, and classified this into two types: BIM-internal and BIM-external information requirements. In addition, we proposed three algorithms to extract and to match between extracted BIM data and BIM-internal information requirements using IFC(Industry Foundation Classes). The proposed methodology enables to ensure the efficiency and the accuracy when providing data for building permit review and approval.

인허가관련 설계품질검토 자동화를 위한 건축법규 문장 관계논리에 관한 연구 (Relational Logic Definition of Articles and Sentences in Korean Building Code for the Automated Building Permit System)

  • This paper aims to define the relational logic of in-between code articles as well as within atomic sentences in Korean Building Code, as an intermediate research and development process for the automated building permit system of Korea. The approach depicted in this paper enables the software developers to figure out the logical relations in order to compose KBimCode and its databases. KBimCode is a computer-readable form of Korean Building Code sentences based on a logic rule-based mechanism. Two types of relational logic definition are described in this paper. First type is a logic definition of relation between code sentences. Due to the complexity of Korean Building code structure that consists of decree, regulation or ordinance, an intensive analysis of sentence relations has been performed. Code sentences have a relation based on delegation or reference each other. Another type is a relational logic definition in a code sentence based on translated atomic sentence(TAS) which is an explicit form of atomic sentence(AS). The analysis has been performed because the natural language has intrinsic ambiguity which hinders interpreting embedded meaning of Building Code. Thus, both analyses have been conducted for capturing accurate meaning of building permit-related requirements as a part of the logic rule-based mechanism.

도로점용허가 행정업무에 공간정보 활용을 위한 시스템 구축방안 (System Implementation Plan for Applying Spatial Information to Road Occupation Permit Administrative Works)

  • 대부분의 행정업무는 주소를 기반으로 수행하고 있기 때문에, 공간정보는 행정업무 수행에 핵심적인 요소이다. 행정업무에 공간정보를 활용하기 위한 많은 시스템이 구축되어 있으나, 도로점용허가 업무에 공간정보를 활용하기 위한 시스템의 구축에 대한 연구는 이루어지고 있지 않은 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 도로점용허가 행정업무에 공간정보를 활용하는 시스템의 구축방안을 다룬다. 시스템 구축방안은 업무분석, 활용 시나리오 도출, 시스템의 기능도출, 그리고 데이터마트 구축방안을 포함한다. 첫째, 업무편람 분석을 기반으로 도로점용 업무의 프로세스 및 각 프로세스를 구성하는 활동을 정의하고 도식화 한다. 둘째, 도출된 업무 활동 중 공간정보가 활용 될 수 있는 시나리오를 도출한다. 셋째, 도출된 업무 프로세스 및 공간정보 활용 시나리오를 시스템으로 만들기 위한 서비스의 기능을 도출한다. 마지막으로 본 시스템에 사용될 공간정보의 데이터마트 구축방안을 수립한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 시스템 구축방안은 응용 아키텍처 및 데이터 아키텍처의 일부를 포함한다. 추후 시스템을 구축하려면 하드웨어 아키텍처와 소프트웨어 아키텍처의 구성방안이 추가로 연구되어야 할 것이다.

건축물 유지관리점검 체계화를 위한 제도 개선방안 (A Study on the Improvement of Inspection System for Building Maintenance)

  • As the life cycle of buildings is expected to increase, new constructions will decrease and the proportion of remodeling and repair will increase. Therefore, there is an increasing need for overall performance management of old buildings. In 2020, the proportion of buildings over 30 years old is expected to reach a half. As a result, the demand for securing and improving the performance in the stage of using the building is increasing due to the change in the demand for the building, such as the decrease in the construction permit and the increase in the use of the existing building. From this perspective, the study sought to consider institutional measures to organize the preventive and conservative maintenance of buildings. For this purpose, the conceptual goals of inspection for building maintenance were set through a literature review, and the status and problems associated with building maintenance were analyzed to suggest ways to improve the inspection system for building maintenance.

  • Ascent, a 25 story residential tower located in Milwaukee, WI (USA), will become the tallest timber building in the world upon completion. This paper discusses the project's structural system, permit process, groundbreaking project specific testing, and several of the challenges the team overcame, all of which open the door to future Mass Timber projects; particularly in the United States.

Modeling of a Building System and its Parameter Identification

  • This study proposes a low order dynamic model of a building system in order to predict thermal behavior within a building and its energy consumption. The building system includes a thermally well-insulated room and an electric heater. It is modeled by a second order lumped RC thermal network based on the thermal-electrical analogy. In order to identify unknown parameters of the model, an experimental procedure is firstly detailed. Then, the different linear parametric models (ARMA, ARX, ARMAX, BJ, and OE models) are recalled. The parameters of the parametric models are obtained by the least square approach. The obtained parameters are interpreted to the parameters of the physically based model in accordance with their relationship. Afterwards, the obtained models are implemented in Matlab/Simulink(R) and are evaluated by the mean of the sum of absolute error (MAE) and the mean of the sum of square error (MSE) with the variable of indoor temperature of the room. Quantities of electrical energy and converted thermal energy are also compared. This study will permit a further study on Model Predictive Control adapting to the proposed model in order to reduce energy consumption of the building.

농촌주택 표준설계도의 관련 법적 기준에의 적합성 분석 연구 (A Suitability Analysis on the legal standards of the Rural Housing Standard Plans)

  • The Rural Housing Standard Plans for improving the quality of life and housing stability in rural areas has been developed 87 types from 1994 to 2012. However, some types of Plans do not satisfy the current legal standard in accordance with social and legal changes. Standard plans has the same effect as a building permit, and replace it, so legal suitability of Plans is an important. Therefore, it is required the suitability analysis on the legal standards of Rural Housing Standard Plans. The Purpose of this study is to derive improper types and items of the Rural Housing Standard Plans on the legal standards. In this study, we analyzed its suitability on the legal standards(law on fire-fighting system installation and safety management, energy saving design criteria for buildings, structural checklist for small buildings, the types of drawing for building permit) in accordance with "rules for the operation of standard plans". And we analyzed the utilization of the Rural Housing Standard Plans through downloads from welchon portal.
