The purpose of this study is to analyze concrete characteristics by admixing agent and additive contents according to the change of unit-water to identify its effect on compressive strength. First of all, as for flesh concrete, overall unit-water showed a tendency to decrease as component inclusion rate of admixing agent was increased. In addition, air content showed a tendency to increase by increasing WR, WB, NP series admixing agent contents, on the other hand, the change of air content was gentle by around $1.5{\pm}0.5%$ for S, T, M series agents. Bulk density showed an inverse proportion to the change of air content. As for hardened concrete, expression rate of 3-day age compressive strength was generally decreased for S, T, WR, WB, NP, M series admixing agent component. Also, expression rate of 7-day age compressive strength showed an excellent record for S, M series agents, and expression rate of 28-day age compressive strength showed a tendency to increase more than plain on the whole.
W/C and unit volume, which significantly affect quality of concrete related to strength and durability, are regulated at below $185kg/m^3$ for regular concrete generally used in standard specification for constructions. The aim of this research is to develop chemical admixture and find out its potential use by identifying characteristics of admixtures added to soft concrete and hardening concrete, of which content ratio of component for each type of admixtures is subject to change in accordance with unit volume within KS' allowable range. Sodium gluconate, polyoxyethylene nonylphenyl ether, poly carboxylic copolymer in slump, which is characteristic of soft concrete, are deemed highly sensitive while there is no air entrainment except for $10\sim70%$ in WE, WR component content ratio and NP. In hardening concrete, strength in general showed higher action in compressive strength and tensile strength than in plain strength. Use of proper AE agent and AE water reducing agent at the same time is deemed to be used as chemical admixtures capable of manufacturing high-quality, high-quantity concrete.
In this study, the tensile properties of sealants by heat deterioration were measured and analysed to gather the basic data of sealant because these studies do not have been investigated in Korea. Most general one-component silicone sealants were used and test specimen was I-type. The test parameters are sealant types which have different density and heat deterioration time in 80℃. As a result, the rat of reduction in area by heat deterioration was considerable increased at SR-A compared with SR-B. The tensile properties by heat deterioration decreased at SR-A because the specimen by deterioration occurred adhesive failure before tensile test. However, SR-B specimen was increased at maximum tensile stress but decreased at elongation in maximum tensile stress. Also, Maximum principal stress was measured at the edge of specimen by FEM simulation in order to find out failure points.
Waste Concrete Powder will be generated during the manufacture of construction waste as recycled aggregate Waste concrete. The main component of the waste concrete Powder is a silica-based composition 51% SiO2, waste concrete cement-based composition Al2O3 10%, CaO 26% component are contained. The material is silica sand of PHC piles should experiment by replacing the Waste Concrete Powder. The compressive strength results are as follows. 25% when the Silica was replaced 32.5Mpa, when 50% have replaced 43.4Mpa, when 75% have replaced 45.3Mpa was measured. Compared with the non-replaced test sample it appears that the strength increases. Therefore, it is determined that the practical use of the PHC piles by replacing silica via this experiment is possible.
In this study, the purpose of the study is to determine the depth of damage caused by early frost damage in concrete slab structures under the conditions of external temperature during winter. In other words, we intend to analyze the depth variation of the early frost damage as the thickness of the normal strength concrete slab members changes. As a result, the thinner the component was, the deeper the early frost damage was found to be, and the resulting increase in brightness of the concrete was delayed. and It is analyzed that under this test condition, an early frost damage was created with a thickness of 50 mm for the member and a thickness of 39 mm for the member of 300 mm.
The purpose of this study is to propose a new process model for architects and suppliers in AEC(Architectural, Engineering and Construction) industry, which comes from its utilization of a distributed database. Information used by participants of this process is not held in one singular application sewer, but in tile databases of multiple participants. This study addresses the problem of coping with dynamic information changes that architects face when designing with increasingly time-sensitive product information from multiple suppliers. It also describes the new distributed architecture for design representation, and outlines a corresponding process model to address the needs architectural designers during design and procurement phases. The feasibility of the process was tested in a prototype system that combines existing technologies, which allows for an objects transfer from the Web to the CAD application.
In this study, we has a purpose to estimate the joint movement responsiveness performance for the domestic products of one-component structural silicon sealants. For this purpose, we make a comparative study for the four domestic products focused on tensile properties after allowed the cyclic-movements for three days at initial step of curing phase. A joint movement range ±10% and the rate of compression and extension 3.2mm/h were assumed in those tests. As a result, the large space were induced inside the sealant by rupture, and then adhesion and cohesion failures were caused by stress concentration. The tensile properties were reduced by 15~60% in comparison with physical properties. In this case, the generating defect was caused and the service-life was decreased. Thus, further researches as relationship of test condition and products properties on this behavior would be studied.
Stereolithography is a process used to rapidly produce stereolithographic parts directly from three dimensional CAD models. However design methodologies to create components to be built by stereolithography are different from those required by conventional machining processes. As a typical case in point, the support structures are required to support a component at build stage, but are later removed once building and curing are complete. These structures are used to anchor the component to the platform and to prevent sagging or distortion. This paper deals with the Support Map data structure prepared to find the appropriate regions of supports. Interferences between supports and parts, and support structure themselves as well, are checked and thus the system are searching the statically stable regions to remove the surplus support structures. Cross shaped tooth profiles are designed for easy eliminating the support structures.
A new type of earthquake resilient reinforced concrete (RC) shear wall structure, installed with replaceable coupling beams and replaceable corner components at the bottom of wall piers, is proposed in this study. At first, the mechanical behavior of replaceable components, such as combined dampers and replaceable corner component, is studied by cyclic loading tests on them. Then, cycling loading tests are conducted on one conventional coupled shear wall and one new type of coupled shear wall with replaceable components. The test results indicate that the damage of the new type of coupled shear wall concentrates on replaceable components and the left parts are well protected. Finally, a case study is introduced. The responses of one conventional frame-tube structure and one new type of structure installed with replaceable components under the wind and the earthquake are compared, which verify that the performance of new type of structure is much better than the conventional structure.
Recently, some integrated structural identification/damage detection and reliability evaluation of structures with uncertainties have been proposed. However, these techniques are applicable for off-line synthesis of structural identification and reliability evaluation. In this paper, based on the recursive formulation of the extended Kalman filter, an on-line integration of structural identification/damage detection and reliability evaluation of stochastic building structures is investigated. Structural limit state is expanded by the Taylor series in terms of uncertain variables to obtain the probability density function (PDF). Both structural component reliability with only one limit state function and system reliability with multi-limit state functions are studied. Then, it is extended to adopt the recent extended Kalman filter with unknown input (EKF-UI) proposed by the authors for on-line integration of structural identification/damage detection and structural reliability evaluation of stochastic building structures subject to unknown excitations. Numerical examples are used to demonstrate the proposed method. The evaluated results of structural component reliability and structural system reliability are compared with those by the Monte Carlo simulation to validate the performances of the proposed method.
