Purpose - There is a recent social trend that is focused on the revitalization of business-founding. Business-founding now has an important impact on the progress of the national economy because of youth unemployment and an increase in baby-boom generation retirees. However, the support and infrastructure required for business-founding of the disabled are very insufficient. Since most supporting policies are on youth or middle-aged business-founding, business-founding by the disabled and the socially weak is losing competitiveness. Accordingly, this study diagnosed the issues by analyzing the current status of business-founding by the disabled and suggested a fostering direction for the advance of business-founding by the disabled. An idea for the founding of various business items is required for the competitiveness of business-founding by the disabled and the establishment of a growth-model based on marketing is required so that business-founding by the disabled would advance toward commercialization with growth potential. Research design, data, and methodology - Regarding the study method, the existing study literature on the status and issues in business-founding was mainly explored. In addition, the existing literature on the status and issues in business-founding by the disabled was also studied. The support on business-founding by the disabled by policy enforced by the 'Welfare Service Agency for the Disabled'and the support of related agencies including financial support on the commercialization of business-founding by the disabled were also examined. Results - Existing studies on business-founding by the disabled are very insufficient. It is very difficult to study a viable business-founding by the disabled fostering policy without thorough learning on the difficulties of business-founding by the disabled. Therefore, this study suggested a direction for the resolution of various issues such as market, funds, item, operational matters, and service by analyzing the difficulties in business-founding by the disabled until now. Particularly, this study suggested that building a commercialization model from the aspect of marketing strategy and the effort to change the growth aspect of the disabled into competitiveness are essential. Conclusions - This study examined the aspect of developing an item-development process for the growth and founding of disabled-owned businesses and the requirement of a government support system by multiple policies. Since the number of studies on business-founding by the disabled is very small, it is expected that this study would become an important study in the field of business-founding by the disabled. The revitalization of business-founding by the disabled substantially contributes to the progress of the state of the economy and continuous interest is required from the viewpoint of equal advance in the society. Success models in business-founding by the disabled should be created continuously and active publicizing of them to the disabled business-founders by analyzing the success cases would also be required. In addition, it is believed that a market entry strategy by way of a win-win strategy and cooperative relation with big companies should be also developed in the future.
Purpose - The Northeast Asian Logistic Hub strategy was established to create a national competitive advantage in northeast Asia. Countries in this region are competing fiercely to become the central base distribution port as the volume of container shipping continues to increase due to the northeast Asian (especially Chinese) economic growth. The primary method by which shippers are improving their customer service and distribution is enhancing profits by minimizing call ports on the key route through strategic affiliations and the use of large vessels. Each nation is planning large-scale investments in the construction of sea ports that can accommodate large vessels. This paper proposes ways by which the logistical strategies of domestic corporations can keep pace with changes in government policy concerning the Northeast Asian Business Hub policy. It examines the logistics system in the Northeast Asian region, analyzes the government's Northeast Asian Business Hub policy, and suggests logistical strategies for domestic corporations through an analysis based on a questionnaire designed to grasp domestic firms' needs and goals. Research design, data and methodology - The purpose of this study is to determine how shipping companies establish partnerships with third-party logistics providers and draws out the implications of the results. The survey methods used were personal interviews and questionnaires distributed to a sample population through e-mail, fax, mail, and telephone. A total of 600 questionnaires were distributed, of which 165 were returned. Among these, ten were excluded due to insufficient content; ultimately, 155 were used for the sample. The statistical data collection process was analyzed through data coating and a statistical package program. Results - This study argues that greater flexibility in policies, administration, and systems will be needed to significantly improve established business practices. In this dissertation, we primarily identify that in order to become a center of northeast Asian logistics, Korea must adopt a new paradigm and abandon the existing systems that are based on the economic and social systems that have stemmed from bureaucracy, inflexibility, chauvinism, and equalitarianism. Flexible policies, administration, and systems will be necessary to improve business practices. Domestic corporations must establish a strategic logistics hub and related network while simultaneously pursuing value-added logistics businesses by increasing their manpower and building a logistics information system. This will strengthen their competitive edge and lead to system improvements. Conclusions - Domestic corporations must adopt a new paradigm and use more reasonable business laws, systems, and policies that are based on market-driven flexibility and transparency. Moreover, social norms and regulations should be established to help ensure political and social security. Korea must also develop a culture of tolerance for foreign companies. Finally, the paradigm defining the policy governing the development of the capital city and its satellite cities in this context must be changed.

The service industry, as a new growth engine, has become more important in response to changes in the global economy and the industrial environment. Developed countries have promoted the competitiveness of the service industry and have enhanced economic added value. Developing new services requires extensive resources. Therefore, cooperation and network building capabilities with customers, suppliers, and various knowledge creation agencies are critical sources of competitiveness. This study classified the Korean service industry by industrial type in order to enhance innovation competence.The Korean service industry lags behind that of developed countries, and this study analyzed the differences of innovation results according to collaboration partners by the classified industry. By adopting a method that applies industrial classification by Dialogic's innovation pattern, this study showed external cooperation results were different by industrial type. Analysis results revealed that companies cooperate with customers and competitors in many cases; however, product innovation was higher for companies that collaborated with private service companies. In the 'Innovation in services' industry, industry cooperation with universities showed organizational innovation achievements. In the 'Innovation through services' industry, cooperation with customers positively affected marketing innovation achievements. Consequently, the need to foster consulting firms and universities that can professionally collaborate with companies is implied in order to enhance the Korean service industry.

This study aims to analyze the causes of conflict between street performing subjects and identify methods to induce their collaboration in promoting a creative city. This study proposes preventive mechanisms after identifying potential problems in performances on the streets of Jeju, which aims to become "the island of culture and art". To this aim, the type and relationship between the subjects of conflict, characters of conflict, solutions, extent and role of tolerance, responses of the subjects, and type of conflict management employed were examined and analyzed. We employed an in-depth interview method involving cases of conflict occurring during street performances in Jeju. were categorized into 6 types. First is conflict resulting from the lack of facilities. Second is conflict caused by non-designated performance venues. Third is conflict due to exclusive ambiance. Fourth is conflict resulting from direct engagement by neighboring residents. Fifth is conflict between residents and police during performances. Sixth is conflict by lack of definite relationship with relevant institutes. To systematically resolve these conflicts, we propose the following management methods: (1) behavioral approach of pretraining through a registration system; (2) establishment of busking zones and allocation after registration; (3) training of facilitators to manage street performances and extended roles; (4) establishment of standards for street performances through the systematic approach of ordinance; (5) training to secure tolerance of residents; and (6) simplification of deliberation process by building a collaborative system among institutes.

The bus bar is an electrical connection widely used for the power supply of skyscrapers and power distribution and industrial equipment electrical panels in industrial plants. There are various materials to be considered in the design of the bus bar, such as material based on the use environment, the sectional area according to the power capacity, the length of the surface circumference, and the tightening method. Even with a bus bar manufactured to a size of sufficient power capacity in the design, if the actual tightening is incorrect, it may lead to fire due to deterioration. For these reasons, a variety of research on the temperature rise of the electrical contact point has continued. However, the temperature rise of the contacts is a consequence of the result, not a direct cause. In this paper, the influence of contact resistance on the fastening force and the overlapping section of the bus bar are investigated by measuring the change in resistance from building the specimen. A total of eight bus bar specimens were manufactured and measured. Resistance was measured by varying the clamping force and the interval between overlapping sections when the specimens were crossed. We propose a safe power connection model by analyzing the contribution of these factors to the actual contact resistance change.

As the Korean government initiates the Han-style campaign, the efforts and expectations for the modernization and industrialization of Hanok are growing. Accordingly, a major R&D project sponsored by the government is in progress for the development of related technologies, in which the development of a Hanok design support system based on Building Information Modeling(BIM) technology is included as one of the major subjects. However, the development of design tools for Hanok so far has not focused on the windows and doors, which is another major element of Korean traditional architecture. Therefore, this study developed a BIM-based design tool for Hanok windows and doors as an approach to the integrated design of various Hanok elements and their applications to modern buildings. To this end, the characteristics of Hanok windows and doors were analyzed first in terms of the location, opening method, style, components, and the over-all construction. A design tool was then developed with the parametric modeling functions of the $ArchiCAD^{(R)}$system. The applicability and efficiency of the developed tool were verified with design simulations. This is expected to contribute to not only the application of Hanok windows and doors to modern buildings but also to the further development of an integrated Hanok design system.

A method that can predict the mixed-ground condition ahead of a TBM tunnel face during tunnel construction utilizing electrical resistivity and induced polarization (IP) was proposed in this study. Effect of TBM advancement approaching the mixed-ground condition (composed of soil layer overlying rock layer) when currently running through soil zone on the electrical resistivity and IP measuring was assessed with laboratory-scale experiments. The resistivity and IP values were measured using four electrodes, by installing two electrodes on the tunnel face (at the cutterhead), and the other two electrodes on the segment lining. The test results showed that both of the measured resistivity and IP values were kept increasing as the TBM is approaching the soil-rock mixed-ground. Also, to get the more reliable results for predicting the mixed-ground condition, it was recommended that the measurement is made at the tunnel face utilizing 4-electrodes installed at the cutterhead as well as it is made utilizing the 2-electrodes installed at the segment lining along with the 2-electrodes installed on the tunnel face (at the cutterhead) so that two measured results are compared each other.

As a novel water treatment membrane, concept of ceramic-based graphene membrane (CbGM) was suggested, and its mass transport behavior was investigated. The selectivity of CbGM was given by graphene material which is consisting of active layer, only transmitting water, but rejecting salts. Filtration-assisted assembly methods was employed as a facile method to fabricate CbGM. Surface morphology and characteristics of CbGM were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and contact angle. In addition, three different kinds of solutes (i.e., NaCl, $MgCl_2$, $Na_2SO_4$) were tested in batch forward osmosis system to confirm the mass transport behavior. Through surface morphology analysis and mass transport behavior, it was revealed that interlocking between graphene layers is very important, rather than thickness of laminated graphene layers, in terms of selectivity to CbGM. All the anions in each solute showed faster transport than those of cations. In addition, solutes which have high ion valence charge ratio of anion to cation ($Z^-/Z^+$) was easier to be passed through CbGM. It indirectly implied that the surface charge of CbGM appear to be positive. In addition, It showed that surface charge of CbGM has a great role on mass transport, in particular, transport of matter having charges, generally ions.

Ocean dumping of sewage sludge is banned. Therefore, it is needed to develop alternative treatment method. Sewage sludge and waste glass are used to prepare lightweight brick. Large amount of energy is consumed to prepare building material, because of its high preparation temperature, or above $1,200^{\circ}C$. We study to prepare lightweight brick, using sewage sludge and waste glass as raw materials in this research. Lightweight brick was made at low temperature of below $800^{\circ}C$ to reduce $CO_2$ emission by geopolymer technique. Calcination temperature, mixing ratio of sewage sludge/waste glass and water glass/water were discussed to evaluate their effect on the brick prepared. In this study, the optimal conditions for preparing bricks was $750^{\circ}C$ of firing temperature, 1.5 of mixing ratio for water glass/water and 10 : 90 wt% of sewage sludge/waste glass. At this condition, compressive strength and specific gravity of brick prepared were 5.1 MPa and 0.46, respectively. These values satisfy the criteria on a lightweight brick.
A golden age for Korean documentary films has begun in the 2010s. At present, the success of documentary film is attracting interest than any time in history. To meet the timely demand, the present study conducted research on success factors of documentary films for the first time. This study adopted the three categories of Litman's film success factors (creative domain, distribution domain, and marketing domain) and integrated to the cases of Korean documentary films to extract 12 success factors of documentary films through experts' validation process. Moreover, this study applied AHP method and examined the relative importance of success factors of documentary films. The result was as follows. The significant success factors mostly were found within creative domain. Documentaries that feature common themes rated the distribution/marketing factors highly whereas documentaries that cover socio-political themes rated highly the governments funding and infrastructure building. With regard to the online phenomenon of participating viewer, there was a gap in perception: the production field rated it high while the distribution/marketing field rated it relatively low. These success factors and priority will be used as baseline data in diverse fields related to documentary films, and provide significant implications to documentary film staff, policy makers, and researchers.
