  • As remodeling project is progressed in the constraint which is utilization of existing resource, the subject of remodeling and extend of construction are affected by the correlation between building element. Therefore, this research analyze the correlation between component of building element in the design phase and proposed the diagram model for correlation between building element and proposed selection method of alternative plan for optimized combination of building element in remodeling project.

  • Design of manufacturing system is a very complicated and tricky process. Since no efficient method has been known, yet it has been mainly done based on experience and heuristics. Even mostly used simulation approaches can only evaluate the performance of an already configured system, but cannot provide a help to configure or reconfigure a manufacturing system. An efficient way to (re-)configure manufacturing systems might be to use building blocks of a manufacturing system in the similar manner the recent products are configured based on modular principle. In this paper, the concept of a building block and its representation method are described. An example of assembly system configuration is also given.

The Estimation Analysis Method of the Annual Operation Cost of Korean High-rise Condominiums

  • In today's building industry the emphasis has been geared more towards construction, thus building maintenance and life cycle have been neglected until now. A direct result of this neglect is the rapid aging of building, which leads to more cost-effective decision making methods for the prolongation of building life span. The following study is conducted in the area of Daegu and Seoul in order to develop the estimation analysis method of the annual operation cost of the Korean high-rise condominiums for the cost-effective decision making support through mathematical and statistical analyses including the present value and standardized measurement corrections. Based on the assumption that the life expectancy of the high rise condominium is 50 years, initial cost is ₩421,212/$m^2$, and a total sum of yearly operation cost during life expectancy is ₩2,154,499//$m^2$), yearly accumulated operation cost is shown as below: $AOC=0.7097t^4-38.803t^3+806.95t^2+11045t-496.52$ ($R^2=0.98$) (Here, AOC = Accumulated Operation Cost, t = given years)

  • Mekuro-Kazoen BLDG. is a complex of office, hotel, and banquet halls, builted in 1991, Tokyo, Japan. This building suggest us various issues about the representation of traditionality in current architecture. We can find the possibility of representation of traditionality in large complex, in past, rarely applicated. Even in Japan, such trial in official building as New Office Building of Tokyo in Sinzuku shows a application only in the elevation plan. In Mekuro-Kazoen BLDG, the applications of traditionality are found not only in external appearance, but also in interior design. And the traditional Japanese gardens in front of building and in atrium enrich the traditionality And the modenity and traditionality in this building are represented simultaneously not deteriorating each other. The issue of representation of traditionality in architecture should be succeed not only in now but also in the future. The method of application need to be studied and improved. The fields of application also should be extended such as large complex buildings and future-oriented buildings.

  • There is urgent for defect consulting work to standardize the investigated method, repaired and reinforced method, and estimated cost about defect in increasing a defect lawsuit of apartment building. For the purpose of developing the standard process of defect consulting work, the review that a used process in law and institution should take precedence. There is not prepared the national standard for defect consulting but is dependent on an experience and a practice of consultants. This study analyzes defect consulting case, defines main steps for developing the standard process, and draws phased work factors. As systemizing this, it is expected to apply to basic structure for developing the standard process of defect consulting work for the next.

  • Map building is essential to a mobile robot navigation system. Localization and path planning methods depend on map building strategies. A topological map is commonly constructed using the GVG(Generalized Voronoi Graph). The advantage of the GVG based topological map is compactness. But the GVG method have many difficulties because it consists of collision-free path. In this paper, we proposed an extended map building method, the AVG (Areal Voronoi Graph) based topological map. The AVG based topological map consists of collision-free area. This feature can improve map building, localization and path planning performance.

  • In evaluating sound performance of building, it is important to carry on tests and evaluations based upon residential sound performances. Korean Standards include test methods on sound performance, but don't include any code on evaluation methods. Therefore, evaluation methods from Japan or ISO have been used for evaluating sound performance in domestic so far. In this study, every regulation from ISO, JIS, ASTM, especially for airborne sound insulation against building and building element, is analyzed in order to apply to establishment of Korean Standards on a sound performance evaluation method in buildings.

  • Map building is the process of modeling the robot's environment. The map is usually built based on a grid-based or topological approach, which has its own merits and demerits. These two methods, therefore, can be integrated to provide a better way of map building, which compensates for each other's drawbacks. In this paper, a method of building the topological map based on the occupancy grid map through a Voronoi diagram is presented and verified by various simulations. This Voronoi diagram is made by using a labeled Voronoi diagram scheme which is suitable for the occupancy grid maps. It is shown that the Proposed method is efficient and simple fur building a topological map. The simple path-planning problem is simulated and experimented verify validity of the proposed approach.

  • Lately construction industry tends to prefer remodeling of existing buildings rather than new construction or reconstruction of buildings due to strengthening of several restriction related to real estates along with prolonged depression. And also, remodeling of building costs less and creates less wastes compared to reconstruction and so it is more profitable in financial and environmental view. However remodeling is process of creating new environment with existing building. Therefor remodeling must follow the procedure realizing problem and fix the problem based on through investigation on existing building and users requirement must be faithfully reflected. Specially in case of apartment houses, since vagueness on ownership and management authority on common parts exists. Hereupon, in this study we are to present the procedure of analyzing apartment house remodeling method through user requirement by approaching to several considerable factors in user request side.

  • The building construction is an essential field to consider weather condition because construction works are performed in a site. From this reason, this study evaluated the effect of weather condition with work sections in building construction by Analytic Hierarchy Proces (AHP) method. The results of this study as follows : (1) The effect of weather condition with work sections is affected by rainfall in summer season, and by a low temperature in winter season (2) The effect of weather condition with work sections is 0.235 for mold work, 0.210 for concrete work, 0.181 for steel-frame work.
