State Transition Fault Diagnosis in Brushless DC Motor Based on Fuzzy System (퍼지를 이용한 BLDC 모터의 상태천이 고장진단)

  • In this paper we proposed a model of a fault diagnosis expert system with high reliability to compare identical well-functioning motors. The purpose of the survey was to determine if any differences exit among these identical motors and to identify exactly what these differences were, if in fact they were found. Using measured data for many identical brushless dc motors, this study attempted to find out whether normal and fault can be classified by each other. Measured data was analyzed using the State Transition Model (STM). Based on a proposed STM method, the effect of a different normal state is minimized and the detection of fault is improved in identical motor system. Experimental results are presented to prove that STM method could be a useful tool for diagnosing the condition of identical BLDE motors.

  • In this paper, the boost Power Factor Correction(PFC) technique for Direct Torque Control(DTC) of brushless DC motor drive in the constant torque region is implemented on a TMS320F2812DSP. Unlike conventional six-step PWM current control, by properly selecting the inverter voltage space vectors of the two-phase conduction mode from a simple look-up table at a predefined sampling time, the desired quasi-square wave current is obtained, therefore a much faster torque response is achieved compared to conventional current control. Furthermore, to eliminate the low-frequency torque oscillations caused by the non-ideal trapezoidal shape of the actual back-EMF waveform of the BLDC motor, a pre-stored back-EMF versus position look-up table is designed. The duty cycle of the boost converter is determined by a control algorithm based on the input voltage, output voltage which is the dc-link of the BLDC motor drive, and inductor current using average current control method with input voltage feed-forward compensation during each sampling period of the drive system. With the emergence of high-speed digital signal processors(DSPs), both PFC and simple DTC algorithms can be executed during a single sampling period of the BLDC motor drive. In the proposed method, since no PWM algorithm is required for DTC or BLDC motor drive, only one PWM output for the boost converter with 80 kHz switching frequency is used in a TMS320F2812 DSP. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed DTC of BLDC motor drive scheme with PFC are verified through the experimental results. The test results verify that the proposed PFC for DTC of BLDC motor drive improves power factor considerably from 0.77 to as close as 0.9997 with and without load conditions.

  • This paper proposes a design method by varying rotor pole shape to reduce cogging torque, torque ripple and harmonics of back emf in Spoke type brushless DC(BLDC) motor. In the process of design and analysis, Response surface method(RSM) and finite-element method(FEM) are employed to get the rotor geometry and verify the results of new pole shape.

  • This paper presents the optimal design of a brushless DC motor(BLDC) keeping the average torque and cogging torque of the initial model while minimizing the volume of magnet pole by FEM and evolution strategy. Experimental tests are performed by the finite element method(FEM), and the random based evolution strategy is applied for the shape optimization. The optimal result shows a largely reduced volume of magnet pole.

  • This paper deals with a magnetic field analysis on brushless DC(BLDC) motor with radial magnetization permanent magnet. In order to analyze the magnetic field, multi-layer analysis based on space harmonics method is employed. Finally, the analytical results are validated by non-linear Finite Element Analysis(FEA).

  • This paper presents the characteristics of current harmonics and torque ripple of Brushless DC motor, which is developed the fan blower of vehicles, according to permanent magnet shape input voltage wave form. To investigate the torque ripple and the phase current harmonics, these characteristics is analysed and compared the experimental results. In the process of analysis, FEM is introduced and computed a transient state torque of BLDC with a sinusoidal and a PWM wave voltage.

  • 본 논문에서는 전동차용 전기식 플러그인 도어를 구동하기 위해 영구자석형 무정류자 직류전동기(Brushless DC Motor)를 적용하였다. BLDC 전동기의 속도제어를 위해 사용되어지는 홀센서 신호를 속도제어로만 사용하는 것이 아니라 이러한 홀센서 파형을 검출, 위치제어를 위한 신호로 활용하였으며 실제로 도어시스템에 적용, 실험하여 그 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • This paper presents the dynamic characteristics of a linear brushless DC(BLDC) motor with permanent magnet excitation for the precision conveyor according to the load condition. In order to investigate the accurate dynamic performance of tile linear BLDC motor driving with 6 step inverter- fed, finite element techniques coupling with external circuit models, together with the simultaneous simulation of motion of the mover system, arc proposed. The results of finite element analysis arc compared to the experimental ones.
