Purpose - This study is aimed at examining Indian consumers' online shopping motivations, information search, and shopping intentions. The study intends to reveal the relationship between online shopping motivations, information search, and shopping intentions. Research design, data, and methodology - The study employs factor analysis to verify correct loading of items on corresponding factors, and to confirm the applicability of constructs in the Indian context. The model was verified using stepwise regression analysis. Results -The findings show that hedonic and utilitarian motivations significantly affect online information search and shopping intentions. The information search is a significant predictor of online purchase intention. Conclusions - Hedonic and utilitarian motivations are the salient factors affecting online information search and purchase intentions. Marketers are required to design websites that foster an enjoyable online experience. This will attract customers who will browse the website for a longer duration. More time devoted to information search will ensure brand building and loyalty.

In electronic commerce, a registry is an integrated software system that supports access to registry metadata in order to locate and retrieve registered objects it can be discovered and used by a client or customer. In general, a registry consists of information model and its service. A registry implementation supports a registry services interface that can be used by abstract agents to assist a human or some other software process to register new objects, provide appropriate metadata for those objects, browse or query registry content, filter out irrelevant references, and retrieve the content of selected items. We show a layered registry architecture that is flexible enough to support the required specialization of many different kinds of registry specification of other sponsoring groups. This architecture could easily adopt different registry specification. This paper suggests a prototype implementation model which supports ebXML Registry standard based on this layered architecture.

Abstract : Multimedia data now one of the widely used information in all the fields as the fast developments of computer techniques have been made. Traditional database systems based on textual information have limitations when applied to multimedia information. This is because simple textual descriptions are ambiguous and inadequate for searching multimedia information for multimedia databases and digital libraries. Thus, especially for image data, which is one of the important multimedia information types, which can retrieve and browse image data on the basis of pictorial queries. Therefore, this paper presents an efficient method for describing texture information in image data.

In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of a multimedia information system integrating hypermdia, information retrieval, and DBMS technologies. We browse the information space through hypermedia link navigation and also use ad hoc queries for direct retrieval of information from the database. Both the hypermedia and the information retrieval systems are integrated into a database management system (DMBS) so that concurrent edition, update, and retrieval of documents can have the ACID properties of atomicity, consistency, isolation, and durability. We will first explain the architecture of the system and then, describe how the hypermedia system is integrated with information retrieval capability, and finally integrated with DBMS capabilities.

Traditional web-based services that require users to browse via documents and fill out forms, are difficult to use with mobile devices. Moreover, as the web paradigm assumes active clients, further complications are introduced in cases where the server is the active entity, instead of the client. This paper presents a Server-Centric Interaction Architecture (SCIA) for wireless applications. The architecture enables servers to initiate communication with clients as well as push secure targeted data to them, in a piecemeal fashion. It further enables the development of highly collaborative wireless services with interactive user interfaces.

Therefore we propose o form-based presentation transformation scheme that allows users to reorganize the presentation layout to ft the limited screen and to show the values of all the needed attributes. For the representation of the presentation scenario of an object a presentation information class and the presentation transformation operations are defined. We show how these operations transform the default presentation into the wanted presentation by navigating through a multimedia object with the COMIB (COMposite Icon Browser).

We studied a model house system on cyberspace using JAVA and VRML in this paper. In the system, users can not only browse the model house using a web browser but also choose options that they want to install in the final house and the chosen options are combined with the figure of the model house on the terminal window in real time. In addition, the information of the chosen options are transferred to a database on a server machine at the construction company and the company can use the information for the customer management. The developed system can be used by a simple EC system since it includes duplex information paths.

This presentation summarizes the development of the integration information search system for a Test-bed area located in Daejeon. It will be used for the validation of software components developed for the high resolution satellite image processing. The system development utilizes the Java programming language and implements the web browse capabilities to search, manage, and augment the satellite image data, the Ground Control Point(GCP) data, the spectral information on land cover types, the atmospheric data, and the topographical map.
