In general, cracks significantly deteriorate the in-situ performance of concrete members and structures, especially in urban metro tunnels that have been embedded in saturated soft soils. The microcapsule self-healing method is a newly developed healing method for repairing cracked concrete. To investigate the optimal microcapsule parameters that will have the best healing effect in concrete, a 3D analytical probability healing model is proposed; it is based on the microcapsule self-healing method's healing mechanism, and its purpose is to predict the healing efficiency and healing probability of given cracks. The proposed model comprehensively considers the radius and the volume fraction of microcapsules, the expected healing efficiency, the parameters of cracks, the broken ratio and the healing probability. Furthermore, a simplified probability healing model is proposed to facilitate the calculation. Then, a Monte Carlo test is conducted to verify the proposed 3D analytical probability healing model. Finally, the influences of microcapsules' parameters on the healing efficiency and the healing probability of the microcapsule self-healing method are examined in light of the proposed probability model.

In this study PZT etching was performed using planar inductively coupled Ar/Cl$_2$/BCI$_3$ plasma. The etch rate of PZT film was 2450 $\AA$/min at Ar(20)/BCl$_3$(80) gas mixing ratio and substrate temperature of 8$0^{\circ}C$. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analysis for films composition of etched PZT surface was utilized. The chemical bond of PbO is broken by ion bombardment and Cl radical, and the peak of metal Pb in a Pb 4f narrow scan begins to appear upon etching. As increasing additive BCl$_3$content the relative content of oxygen decreases rapidly in contrast with etch rate of PZT thin film. So we though that the etch rate of PZT thin film increased because abundant B and BCl radicals made volatile oxy-compound such as B$_{x}$/O$_{y}$ and/or BClO$_{x}$ bond. We achieved etch profile of about 80$^{\circ}$ at Ar(20)/BCl$_3$(80) gas mixing condition and substrate temperature of 8$0^{\circ}C$TEX>X>.
In this study the SrBi$_2$Ta$_2$$O_{9}$ (SBT) thin films were etched by using magnetically enhanced inductively coupled Ar/CHF$_3$plasma as function of CHF$_3$/(Ar+CHF$_3$)gas mixing ratio. Maximum etch rate of SBT thin films was 1650 $\AA$/min and the selectivities of SBT to Pt and photoresist(PR) were 1.35 and 0.94 respectively under CHF$_3$/(Ar+CHF$_3$) of 0.1 For study on etching mechanism of SBT thin film X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) surface analyses and secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) mass analysis of etched SBT surfaces were performed. Among the elements of SBT thin film. M(Sr, Bi, Ta)-O bonds are broken by Ar ion bombardment and form SrF and TaF$_2$by chemical reaction with F. SrF and TaF$_2$are removed more easily by Ar ion bombardment. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) was used for the profile examination of etched SBT film and the cross-sectional SEM profile of etched SBT film under CHF$_3$(Ar+CHF$_3$) of 0.1 was about 85$^{\circ}$X>.
This study is focused on the chairs for students, especially, middle school students who grow rapidly compared with other group. We make a certain definite possibilities by the scientific and medical comparison of the approved chair with existing chair about the function of feet-height control & the application of the flexible back. The object of this test is middle & high school student (ratio of gender is the same) in Inchon. And the study types are two. One is to bring a matter and to suggest a design as alternative, the other is to verify propriety of the alternative. The major finding from the research are summarized as follows: 1) K·S standards for existing chairs are not proper to the growth rate of present juveniles, and they don't cope with proactive the discrepancy of growth pace. 2) Existing chairs have caused troubles by using only the fixed back of a chair. This troubles made bad influences on juveniles in a growth period. 3) Even existing chairs can adjust the back of a chair, they can be easily broken , and if they adjusted once, they can't be easily controled. Furthermore, it is Impossible to manage them because of the rust of control parts. 4) In the case of supplying the same sizes of them, juveniles who are different to growth rate respectively, can't accept the chairs. Even supplied adjustable chairs, they cant be ideal types of chairs in Open Classroom mode.
The aim of this paper is to present the most important issues on the implementation, operation and maintenance of foundation for machines. The article presents the newest solutions both in terms of technology implementation as well as materials used in construction of such structures. Foundations for machines are special building structures used to transfer loads from an operating machine to the subsoil. The purpose of these foundations is not just to transfer loads, but also to reduce vibrations occurring during operation of the machine, i.e. their damping and preventing redistribution to other elements of the building. It should be noted that foundations for machines (particularly foundations for hammers) are the most dynamically loaded building structures. For these reasons, they require precise static and dynamic calculations, accuracy in their implementation and care for them after they have been made. Therefore, the paper in detail present the guidelines regarding: design, construction and maintenance of structures of this type. Furthermore, the most important parameters and characteristics of materials used for the construction of these foundations are described. As a result of the conducted analyzes, it was found that the concrete mix, in foundations for machines, should have a low water/binder ratio. For its execution, it is necessary to use broken aggregates from igneous rocks and binders modified with mineral additives and chemical admixtures. On the other hand, the reinforcement of composites should contain a large amount of structural reinforcement to prevent shrinkage cracks.
The purpose of this study was to confirm the optimal spinning conditions for PLA (Polylactic acid) as a fiber forming polymer. According to the melt spinning test results of PLA, the optimal spinning temperature was 258℃. However, it needs to note that relatively high pack pressure was required for spinning at 258℃. At an elevated temperature, 262℃, mono filament was broken easily due to hydrolysis of PLA at a higher temperature. In case of fiber strength, it was confirmed that the draw ratios of 2.7 to 3.3 were optimal for maximum strength of melt spun PLA. Above the draw ratio, 3.3, the strength of the PLA fibers was lowered. It was presumed that cleavage of the PLA polymer chain over maximum elongation. The heat setting temperature of GR (Godet roller) showed that the maximum strength of the PLA fibers was revealed around 100℃. The degree of crystallinity and the strength of the PLA fibers were decreased above 100℃. The optimal take-up speed (Spinning speed) was around 4,000m/min. Thermal analysis of PLA showed 170℃ and 57℃ as Tm (melting temperature) and Tg (glass transition temperature), respectively.
Coastal and offshore structures such as ports and offshore wind farms will often need to be built on fine-grained sediments. Geotechnical properties associated with sediment compressibility are key parameters for marine construction designs especially on soft grounds, which involve clay-mineral dominated fines that can consolidate and settle significantly in response to engineered and environmental loads. We conduct liquid limit tests and 1D consolidation tests with fine-grained soils (silica silt, mica, kaolin and bentonite) and biogenic soils (diatom). The pore fluids for the liquid limit tests include deionized water and a series of brines with NaCl salt concentrations of 0.001 m, 0.01 m, 0.1 m, 0.6 m and 2.0 m, and the pore fluids for the consolidation tests deionized water, 0.01 m, 0.6 m, 2 m. The salt concentrations help the liquid limits of kaolin and bentonite decrease, but those of diatom slightly increase. The silica silt and mica show minimal changes in liquid limit due to salt concentrations. Accordingly, compression indices of soils follow the trend of the liquid limit as the liquid limit determined the initial void ratio of the consolidation test. Diatoms are more likely to be broken than clastic sediments during to loading, and diatom-rich sediment is therefore generally more compressible than clastic-rich sediment.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the shaping ability of newly marketed single-file instruments, Wave One (Dentsply-Maillefer) and Reciproc (VDW GmbH), in terms of maintaining the original root canal configuration and curvature, with or without a glide-path. Materials and Methods: According to the instruments used, the blocks were divided into 4 groups (n = 10): Group 1, no glide-path / Wave One; Group 2, no glide-path / Reciproc; Group 3, #15 K-file / Wave One; Group 4, #15 K-file / Reciproc. Pre- and post-instrumented images were scanned and the canal deviation was assessed. The cyclic fatigue stress was loaded to examine the cross-sectional shape of the fractured surface. The broken fragments were evaluated under the scanning electron microscope (SEM) for topographic features of the cross-section. Statistically analysis of the data was performed using one-way analysis of variance followed by Tukey's test (${\alpha}$ = 0.05). Results: The ability of instruments to remain centered in prepared canals at 1 and 2 mm levels was significantly lower in Group 1 (p < 0.05). The centering ratio at 3, 5, and 7 mm level were not significantly different. Conclusions: The Wave One file should be used following establishment of a glide-path larger than #15.
The strength and durability of concrete are affected by various factors such as the quality of material, mixing ratio, construction, the method of cure, time elapsed. the condition of test and etc., it is very difficult to pre-estimate the strength of concrete with the use of experimental specimen. The domestic standard of specimen cylindrical type and its sizes are both l0cm$\times$20cm and 15cm$\times$30cm, which are prescribed in KS F2405, and the loading speed is prescribed to test with 2~3kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ per second. The loading speed should have great effect on the compressive strength, but in reality in the construction site sometimes the loading speed is applied so dubiously that the value of the compressive strength can be unreliable. And the cross sectional area of a specimen should be level and smooth, otherwise it can be broken at a lower stress than the real strength through the eccentric or intensive working of the load. Capping should be carried out in order to measure the strength correctly. And used for capping are various materials such as capping compound, cement glue, plaster, mechanical grinding and etc. In this study, therefore, I have carried out an experiment on the relationship among the loading speed, the ratio of height to diameter of specimen, the method of capping, and the compressive strength, for the efficient quality control of concrete structures. So this study has been purposed to provide some basic data that can be used effectively at construction sites.
