  • To address the convergence issue of power control algorithms, a number of algorithms have been developed hat shape the dynamics of up-link power control for cellular network. Power algorithms based on fixed point iterations can be accelerated by the use of various methods, one of the simplest being the use of Newton iterations, however, this method has the disadvantage which not only needs derivatives of the cost function but also may be weak to noisy environment. we showed performance of the power control schemes to solve the fixed point problem under static or stationary channel. They proved goof performance to solve the fixed point problem due to their predictor based optimal control and quadratic convergence rate. Here, we apply the proposed power control schemes to the problem of the dynamic channel or to dynamic time varying link gains. The rigorous simulation results demonstrated the validity of our approach.

  • Co channel interference and adjacent channel interference of (WiBro) into Wireless LAN (WLAN) in TV White Spaces (TVWS) is evaluated through Spectrum Engineering Advanced Monte Carlo Analysis Tool (SEAMCAT) based on the Monte-Carlo simulation method. As a result, in the case of co channel interference, the minimum distance between WiBro Mobile Station (MS) and WLAN User Equipment (UE) should be 210 m to allow the maximum transmitter power of WiBro UE of 25 dBm. The transmit power of WiBro BS have to be reduced to -4.96 dBm.

  • Slotted ALOHA (S-ALOHA) is a classical medium access control protocol widely used in multiple access communication networks, supporting distributed random access without the need for a central controller. Although stability and delay have been extensively studied in existing works, most of these studies have assumed ideal channel conditions or independent fading, and the impact of time-correlated wireless channels has been less addressed. In this paper, we investigate the queueing delay performance in S-ALOHA networks under time-correlated channel conditions by utilizing a Gilbert-Elliott model. Through simulation studies, we demonstrate how temporal correlation in the wireless channel affects the queueing delay performance. We find that stronger temporal correlation leads to increased variability in queue length, a larger probability of having queue overflows, and higher congestion levels in the S-ALOHA network. Consequently, there is an increase in the average queueing delay, even under a light traffic load. With these findings, we provide valuable insights into the queueing delay performance of S-ALOHA networks, supplementing the existing understanding of delay in S-ALOHA networks.

  • Some characters and construction theorems of Pseudo Jacket Matrix which is generalized from Jacket Matrix introduced by Jacket Matrices: Construction and Its Application for Fast Cooperative Wireless signal Processing[27] was announced. In this paper, we proposed some examples of Pseudo inverse Jacket matrix, such as 2×4, 3×6 non-square matrix for the MIMO channel. Furthermore we derived MIMO singular value decomposition (SVD) pseudo inverse channel and developed application to utilize SVD based on channel estimation of partitioned antenna arrays. This can be also used in MIMO channel and eigen value decomposition (EVD).

  • The fifth generation (5G) mobile communication has been commercialized and the 5G applications, such as the artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT), are deployed all over the world. The 5G new radio (NR) wireless networks are characterized by 100 times more traffic, 1000 times higher system capacity, and 1 ms latency. One of the promising 5G technologies is non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). In order for the NOMA performance to be improved, sometimes the additive signal-dependent Gaussian noise (ASDGN) channel model is required. However, the channel capacity calculation of such channels is so difficult, that only lower and upper bounds on the capacity of ASDGN channels have been presented. Such difficulties are due to the specific constraints on the dependency. Herein, we provide the capacity of ASDGN channels, by removing the constraints except the dependency. Then we obtain the ASDGN channel capacity, not lower and upper bounds, so that the clear impact of ASDGN can be clarified, compared to additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). It is shown that the ASDGN channel capacity is greater than the AWGN channel capacity, for the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). We also apply the analytical results to the NOMA scheme to verify the superiority of ASDGN channels.

  • This paper presents and analyzes laboratory test results of Equalization Digital On-Channel Repeater (EDOCR) using ATSC(Advanced Television Systems Committee) terrestrial digital TV broadcasting system. The EDOCR laboratory test, which is done at CRC(Communications Research Centre) Canada, is classified to receiver test, transmitter test, and synchronization test between transmission and reception frequencies. The receiver part includes feedback signal, random noise, single echo, multi-path ensemble, and NTSC/DTV interference test. The transmitter part includes out-of channel emission, quality of transmitting signal, and phase noise test. By the field test results, the receiver part of the EDOCR eliminates average 5.5 dB of feedback or single echo signal in range of 0 to 11 μs and has average 18.6 dB at TOV(Threshold of Visibility) under random noise environment. Also, the transmitter part of the EDOCR satisfies the specification of US FCC(Federal Communications Commission), and frequency difference between transmitter and receiver is zero.

  • In this paper, we devise a Shapley-value-based covert channel in smartphones. More specifically, unlike ordinary use of Shapley value in cooperative game, we make use of a series of Shapley values, which are computed from sensor data collected from smartphones, in order to create a covert channel between encoding smartphone and decoding smartphone. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to contrive covert channel based on Shapley values. We evaluate the encoding process of our proposed covert channel through simulation and present our evaluation results.

  • This paper presents a novel K-band (18 GHz) 16-quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM)-based 2×2 line-of-sight multi-input multi-output communication system. The system can deliver 356 Mbps on a 56 MHz channel. Alignment mismatches, such as amplitude and/or phase mismatches, between the transmitter and receiver antennas were examined through hardware experiments. Hardware experimental results revealed that amplitude mismatch is related to antenna size, antenna beam width, and link distance. The proposed system employs an alignment mismatch compensation method. The open-loop architecture of the proposed compensation method is simple and enables facile construction of communication systems. In a digital modem, 16-QAM OFDM with a 512-point fast Fourier transform and (255, 239) Reed-Solomon forward error correction codecs is used. Experimental results show that a bit error rate of 105 is achieved at a signal-to-noise ratio of approximately 18.0 dB.

  • FHIR, next-generation standard for health information exchange, allows to exchange health information fast and to provide various health services. In this paper, we propose an indexing scheme of FHIR resources for adopting the resources to wireless data broadcasting with a secure channel. That scheme keeps the information of users to support to download FHIR resources from the secure wireless broadcast channel and the information on the resources. Using the proposed index, massive users can download their desired FHIR resources with less energy in short time. With simulation studies, we show the proposed indexing scheme outperforms other scheme broadcasting FHIR resources.

  • Since starting of terrestrial digital broadcasting in 2001, there has been discussion on introduction of multiple broadcasting services, one of advantages of digital broadcasting. In the mean time, task force on terrestrial multiple channel experimental broadcasting was formed with government organizations, broadcasting companies and household appliance companies in Oct. 2013, and terrestrial multiple channel experimental broadcasting was started between Jan. to April, 2014. Based on this experimental result, EBS started 2HD MMS experimental broadcasting first in Korea on Feb. 11, 2015. This study was carried out in consideration of operation of 2 HD channels in existing 6MHz bandwidth based on MPEG-2 codec with development of compression technology. A study on image quality optimization was carried out and applied to 2HD MMS experimental broadcasting through application experiment of variable bit rate and change according to 1080i and 720p scanning type.
