The dynamic performance of railway bridges under high-speed trains draws the attention of bridge engineers. The vibration issue for long-span bridges under high-speed trains is still not well understood due to lack of validations through structural health monitoring (SHM) data. This paper investigates the correlation between bridge acceleration and train speed based on structural dynamics theory and SHM system from three foci. Firstly, the calculated formula of acceleration response under a series of moving load is deduced for the situation that train length is near the length of the bridge span, the correlation between train speed and acceleration amplitude is analyzed. Secondly, the correlation scatterplots of the speed-acceleration is presented and discussed based on the transverse and vertical acceleration response data of Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge SHM system. Thirdly, the warning indexes of the bridge performance for correlation scatterplots of speed-acceleration are established. The main conclusions are: (1) The resonance between trains and the bridge is unlikely to happen for long-span bridge, but a multimodal correlation curve between train speed and acceleration amplitude exists after the resonance speed; (2) Based on SHM data, multimodal correlation scatterplots of speed-acceleration exist and they have similar trends with the calculated formula; (3) An envelope line of polylines can be used as early warning indicators of the changes of bridge performance due to the changes of slope of envelope line and peak speed of amplitude. This work also gives several suggestions which lay a foundation for the better design, maintenance and long-term monitoring of a long-span high-speed bridge.
Railway bridges are highly susceptible to resonance due to the equidistant axle load with constant speed of train. Thus, it is necessary to verify dynamic characteristics and quantities against dynamic guidelines. Recently, many newly developed bridge systems have been developed for medium span length between 30m and 40m. However, less variety of bridge systems are available for span length between 45m and 50m. Steel box girder is considered as an alternative for span length between 45m and 50m. This study is to investigate the dynamic properties and safety of steel box railway bridge. Modal properties are extracted and moving load analyses are performed using mode superposition method. The results are then compared to various standards.

This study is to applicate IPC girder at curved bridge. This study introduces the variable(radius, $d_{ci}$, $d_{co}$, etc..) used in design IPC curved bridge. And this presents the possible radius in simple bridge and continuous bridge. For example, simple bridge that have span length is 30m, minimum possible radius is 300m. In continuous bridge, girders are arranged by sloped in $\theta$. So in this case, the bridge is under consideration that horizontality pressure in bridge pier.

IPM bridge is an integral bridge that can be applied from span 30.0m up to 120.0m, the shape conditions of IPM bridge is also applicable to the rahmen bridge. In this study, to perform the structural analysis of Rahmen bridge and IPM Bridge, the researchers compared the distribution types such as load, moment, and displacement of those bridges. Structural analysis was carried out on four span models ranging from single span bridges to four spans of 120.0 m, based on span length of 30.0 m. Structural analysis was carried out on those bridge with span 30.0m up to 120.0m. The conclusions drawn from this study are as follows. 1) The bending moments were calculated to be large for the Rahmen bridge, and the horizontal displacements were estimated to be large for the IPM bridge. 2) Since the bending moments are derived by the span length rather than the extension of the bridge, the permissible bending moment for the span length should be considered in the design. 3) The pile bent of the IPM bridge did not exceed the plastic moment of the steel pipe pile at 120.0m span, but because the horizontal displacement in the shrinkage direction is close to 25mm, the design considerations are needed. 4) In the actual design, it is important to ensure stability against member forces, so review of the negative moment is most important.
According to continuos welded rails on a bridge, temperature changes bring about the expansion of the bridge deck adding axil forces on the track. Moreover, the ballast on the bridge deck expansion joint is moved due to the bridge deck. If bridge decks are longer, the influence is greater, loosening ballast, causing track irregularities, and deteriorating passengers' comfort. Considering structure of bridge itself and tolerance of track irregularities caused by the loosened ballast on bridges, the maximum length of a deck should be less than 80m, which is the same as the standard of the French railway. In this study, an interaction between the expansion related to the bridge length and irregularity in longitudinal level referring to measurements and maintenance works performed in the high-speed railways was analyzed. This research shows that installation of sliding plate or vertical ballast stopper is not a good option since it is difficult to install. On the other hand, installation of movable fastener or gluing is easy but its influence is insignificant. To conclude, switch tie tamping or manual tamping is more effective than others.
The flutter derivatives of bridge decks can be efficiently identified using the experimentally and/or numerically coupled forced vibration method. This paper addresses the issue of inherent requirement for adopting different frequencies of three modes in this method. The aerostatic force components and the inertia of force and moment are mathematically proved to exert no influence on identification results if the signal length (t) is integer (n=1,2,3...) times of the least common multiple (T) of three modal periods. It is one important contribution to flutter derivatives identification theory and engineering practice in this study. Therefore, it is unnecessary to worry about the determination accuracy of aerostatic force and inertia of force and moment. The influences of signal length, amplitude, and frequency ratio on flutter derivative are thoroughly investigated using a bridge example. If the signal length t is too short, the extraction results may be completely wrong, and particular attention should be paid to this issue. The signal length t=nT ($n{\geq}5$) is strongly recommended for improving parameter identification accuracy. The proposed viewpoints and conclusions are of great significance for better understanding the essences of flutter derivative identification through coupled forced vibration method.
Application of long-span bridge, which is affected by parameters such as span length, shoe boundary condition, track property and stiffness of superstructure and substructure etc., can vary. Especially, by CWR aspects of the axial force, long-span high speed railway bridges are limited at type and span length. In this study, in terms of CWR axial force, the long-span high-speed railway bridges without REJ(Rail Expansion Joint) is to propose the bridge type. Various Parameters analysis performed for the proposed type(Arch bridge, Cable-stayed bridge).
Application of long-span bridge, which is affected by parameters such as span length, shoe boundary condition, track property and stiffness of superstructure and substructure etc., can vary. Especially, by CWR aspects of the axial force, that can be less constraints of construction depending on whether the application of rail expansion joint(REJ), which has disadvantaged in terms of maintenance. In this study, it was performed parameter study for multiple variables (shaft length, the upper and lower cross-section characteristics, track characteristics, etc.) in terms of CWR aspects. Structure-rail interaction analysis was applied to the typical simple span PSC Box and 3 span continuous bridge Extradosed Bridge(50m+80m+50m) excluding REJ. If you set the boundary e of variables for long-span railway bridge excluding REJ through the this study, when designing future is expected to be able to useful.
It is increasing construction of long span railway bridge with concrete track system for speed up of railway and efficient maintenance of track. As the sleeper of the concrete track system layed on a bridge is fixed on deck of the bridge, the displacement of the sleeper and deck is same. Therefore, the spacing between two sleeper installed at the end of the adjacent deck near the expansion joint of bridge becomes vary according to the longitudinal expansion of a deck by temperature change. By the way, if the spacing of sleepers become increase excessively, it causes large bending stress of in a rail, and it can leads failure or reduction of fatigue life of the rail. And also the excessive displacement of the rail may induce decrease ride comfort. Therefore, in order to prevent such problems, the allowable maximum sleeper spacing at a bridge expansion joint was mutually determined. And, the determination procedure of the maximum bridge expansion length based on the allowable sleeper spacing was suggested.
The demand on a turnout layed on a bridge is rising owing to the increasing number of stations on the viaduct. And also the demand on a turnout with CWR is rising to upgrade running speed of the passing train. A CWR with turnout is subjected to additional axial force induced by the thermal expansion of bridge as well as lead rail of turnout. The additional axial force is closely related with the distance between bridge expansion joint and turnout when it is located near the movable bearing of bridge, and it is required to keep some distance to prevent excessive axial stress in CWR. But, there is no guideline in specification for the proper distance from E.J. to turnout, and it caused problem in planning turnout or bridge. So, it this study, the parametric study to investigate the effect on axial stress in CWR with turnout according to span length and distance between bridge expansion joint and turnout was performed. From the results of numerical analysis, it was found out that $5{\sim}30m$ distance is required to prevent excessive axial in CWR for span length less 90m.
