  • With the opening of the KTX in April 2004 and launching the KORAIL(Korea Railroad Corporation) in January 2005, KORAIL company brand and service product brand were unrecognized. Each brand is very important invisible assets in KORAIL and KORAIL affiliate companies because of their powerful perception of the customers. This study suggests that how to improve and manage KORAIL brand reputation and how can KORAIL employees differentiate other transportation system in the near future. To obtain more benefits using the brand strengthen strategy in KORAIL.

국내 여성 캐릭터.커리어 브랜드의 리포지셔닝에 관한 연구 - 수입 매스티지 브랜드와의 비교 분석을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Repositioning of Korean Character/Career Women's Wear Brands - Focused on the Comparative Analysis with Import Masstige Brands -)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the repositioning strategy for Korean character/career women's wear brands by comparing them with masstige brands. The subjects were 240 Women in their twenties and early forties in Seoul and the metropolitan area. The data had been collected by self-administered questionnaire and analyzed by frequency and biplot. The results of the study were as follows: (1) The brand preference was 'Time'(33.3%), 'Michaa'(12.5%), and then 'Mine'(8.8%) in sequence; (2) For brand differentiation, the attributes of 'store image', 'comfortableness', 'brand reputation', and 'promotion' were found out to be important in sequence; (3) The national character/career brands were favored by theirs 'store image', 'quality', and 'design', while imported masstige brands were favored by theirs 'comfortableness', 'brand reputation', 'promotion', and 'perceived price'; (4) Among brands, 'Time' had been highly evaluated, but comparatively showed weakness on 'perceived price', 'comfortableness', and 'promotion'.

지각된 품질요인이 고객충성도에 미치는 영향: PB와 NB간의 차이분석 (The Effects of Perceived Quality Factors on the Customer Loyalty: Focused on the Analysis of Difference between PB and NB)

  • 소비자의 구매 행위가 합리적이고 실용적인 방향으로 변화하는데 힘입어 할인점업계는 급속한 외형적인 성장과 함께 경쟁도 치열하다. 따라서 업계는 그 해결책으로 차별화와 수익성을 동시에 실현 시킬 수 있는 유통업체 브랜드(PB: Private Brand) 개발에 사활을 걸고 있다. 또한 치열한 경쟁 환경 하에서 생존하기 위해서는 고객만족을 넘어서 고객충성도를 높이는 것이 효과적인 방법임이 밝혀짐에 따라 PB가 고객충성도를 제고시키기 위한 전략적인 도구로 사용되고 있다. PB 이용 고객의 충성도를 높이려면 우선 고객집단의 특성을 파악해서 소비자가 지각하는 품질수준을 우선적으로 맞춰줘야 고객만족과 고객신뢰를 얻을 수 있고 결과적으로 고객충성도로 유도할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 지각된 품질에 영향을 미치는 선행요인과 고객충성도에 영향을 미치는 변수들 간의 관계에 대한 체계적인 분석결과를 제시하기 위해 선행연구에서 검증된 인과관계를 기반으로 연구모형과 연구가설을 설정했고, 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 기업명성, 브랜드명성, 제품경험, 브랜드친숙도가 높을수록 지각된 품질이 높아지고, 지각된 품질이 높을수록 고객만족, 고객신뢰, 고객충성도가 높아지며, 고객만족과 고객신뢰가 높을수록 고객충성도가 높아지는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 기업명성이 지각된 품질에 미치는 영향력은 PB가 NB보다 높게 나타난 반면 브랜드명성과 브랜드친숙도가 지각된 품질에 미치는 영향력은 NB가 PB보다 높게 나타났다. 이러한 실증분석 결과는 지각된 품질에 영향을 미치는 선행요인과 결과요인에 대한 보다 명확한 이해를 바탕으로 실무자가 마케팅 활동을 하는데 유용하게 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

의류 제품의 할인판매에 대한 소비자의 불신과 구매의도에 관한 연구 (Consumers's Distrust for Discounting Claims and Purchase Intention for Apparel Products)

  • This study investigated the factors that influence consumers' distrust and consumers purchase intention for discounting, specifically discounting of clothes. Through literature, discounting rate, retailer type and brand reputation were identified as influencing factors and were tested. A 2$\times$2$\times$3 factorial design was used to test the effect of each factor on consumers' distrust and consumers' purchase intention for jean products. Retailer type was manipulated as high and low, brand reputation as well-known and less-known, and discount rates 10, 30 and 60%. An convenience sample of 165 female undergraduate students participated in the study. The data were analyzed using SPSS/PC+ The results showed that consumers did distrust discounting claims and consumers' distrust of the claims was greater for less-known brand. In addition, no significant effect of retailor type was found. Further effort is needed to generalize the result to different product categories.

The Effect of Counterfeits on the Perceptions toward Luxury Fashion Brands

  • This study explores if consumer perceptions about genuine luxury fashion merchandise are affected by the presence of counterfeits. A total of 504 consumers participated in an online survey. First, respondents were asked to indicate whether or not they agreed that counterfeits negatively affect genuine luxury fashion brands and to provide reasons for their responses. Approximately 57% replied that counterfeit goods negatively affect the image of genuine luxury fashion brand goods. The main reason mentioned was that counterfeit products damage the producer/copyright holder of genuine products, as well as the national economy; they believed that it damaged the genuine luxury brands' image due to the luxury goods becoming less rare; however, 43% of respondents stated that counterfeits did not negatively affect genuine luxury fashion brands. Thus, counterfeit availability reflects that a brand is renowned and popular in a market where consumers can recognize genuine luxury fashion products from counterfeits. Second, the respondents were asked about specific luxury fashion brands and indicated that seeing counterfeits did not negatively affect genuine luxury fashion brands' value, brand reputation or satisfaction of ownership. The majority of respondents disagreed that the availability of counterfeits negatively affects the value, reputation and satisfaction of owning original luxury brands.

항만운영주체의 사회적 책임활동이 이해관계자가 지각한 브랜드자산과 평판, 관계성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증연구 (An Empirical Study on the Effect of the Corporate Social Responsibility by Port Operation Organization on the Brand Asset, Reputation and Relationship Performance Perceived by Interested Parties)

  • 본 연구는 항만운영주체의 사회적 책임활동이 이해관계자가 지각하는 브랜드자산과 평판, 관계성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증연구이다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 선행 연구를 통한 문헌연구와 설문조사를 병행하였다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 SPSS ver. 18.0을 사용하여 Cronbach's α 계수를 이용한 측정변수의 신뢰성 검정, 요인분석을 이용한 타당성검정, 가설검정을 위한 다중회귀분석 등을 실시하였다. 실증분석 및 가설검증을 위해 설계된 연구모형을 검증하기 위해 여수광양지역을 중심으로 항만관련 종사자와 시민을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 총 414부의 설문지를 수집하여 연구에 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 먼저 항만운영주체의 사회적 책임활동은 경제적, 법률적, 자선·윤리적 책임활동 등 3개의 요인으로 구성되어 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 경제적 책임활동은 브랜드 인지와 평판에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 법률적 책임활동은 관계성과의 하위요소인 신뢰와 몰입에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 자선·윤리적 책임활동은 브랜드자산(브랜드 이미지, 브랜드 인지)과 평판, 관계성과(신뢰, 몰입)에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 연구결과를 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해서 항만운영주체의 사회적 책임활동은 브랜드자산과 평판, 관계성과에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 항만경쟁력을 높이고 지속가능경영을 위한 중요한 전략임을 확인할 수 있었다. 사회적 책임활동은 이해관계자들이 조직을 신뢰하고 몰입관계를 강화할 수 있도록 유도함으로써 장기적으로는 경제적 가치 창출에 기여하고 상생 및 동반성장을 통하여 지속가능경영이 가능해질 것이다. 본 연구는 탐색적 차원의 연구로 선행연구 고찰과 설문조사 등을 통해 자료를 수집하고 실증분석을 하였다는 데 연구의 의의가 있으며, 항만특성을 반영 한 사회적 책임활동에 대한 변수의 설명력과 영향력에 한계가 있어 좀 더 정치한 변수설정과 설문내용에 대한 보완이 필요하며, 향후 연구에서는 부산항과 인천항 등 여러 항만의 운영주체를 대상으로 재조사하여 연구의 범위를 확장할 필요가 있다.

The Influence of Product-brand Web Sites on Attitudes toward Brand Image

  • A web site focused on a specific product brand so called product-brand web site has become one major marketing tool as such product-brand web site provides chances for customers to experience the detailed information of the specific brand as well as emphatic the image of the brand. The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of the product-brand web site on the formation of attitude toward the product brand. Subjects of this study are users of two web sites of leading sanitary product brands. The result shows that not only emotion, playfulness and convenience perceived from the web site but also existing attitude toward the brand influence the attitude toward the web site. Further, the attitude toward the web site in turn affects attitude toward the image of the brand. The importance of this study is in its conceptualization and empirical verification of the relationship between the product-brand web site and the reputation of a brand.

  • The case study of OB shows dramatic market dynamics between leader brand vs. follower brand similar to Kirin vs. Asahi in Japan for two decades. Almost 20yrs ago, the brand status of OB was dramatically fallen because of the environmental pollution of subsidiary company and harsh competition of rivalry brand. But OB made a ground change in its brand strategy. OB departed from the pride in its past to bet on the new. OB decided to vitalize Cass brand through brand portfolio strategy. They deployed 3 phase articulated marketing plans; Phase I, Acquisition of Cass brand through M&A and strategic segmentation/targeting (1993-2005), Phase 2 - Mega Brand Strategy through Line Extension(2006-2009), Phase 3 - Experiential Marketing focused on Young Culture (2010- present). Finally, OB restored not only brand reputation of Cass and other brands but dominant market position in beer market. Now Cass has been growing rapidly in the last 20 years achieving 50% M/S. The three phases shows the typical successful process of brand management and revitalization adopting brand concept management and S-T-P strategy of manufacturing company.

패션브랜드에 따른 상품속성과 브랜드 태도에 관한 연구 (The Study on Goods Attributes and Brand Attitude by Fashion Brand)

  • The purpose of this study is to 1) understand the importance of brands, which are known as one of the key purchasing points to consumers today; 2) 10 clearly clarify the various attributes of goods well-known to consumers; 3) to research the effect of the goods attributes on brand attitude. We examined 465 consumers to understand a purchase or a shopping habit with national and non-brand. The study used SPSS 11.0 package for a data analysis. Then using varimax rotation, we employed a factor analysis to analyze the data and obtain Cronbach ${\alpha}$ value. For more specific data analysis, we conducted t-test, regression analysis, and x2 analysis. The results are as followings: 1. The goods attribute is classified into product attribute, shop attribute, and price attribute. The product attribute is divided into wearability, labeling of size and quality, aesthetic expression, brand expression-harmony, textile-suitability, manageability and product assortment. The shop attribute is into shop environment, shopping convenience, promotion, salesperson service, convenience of location, shop's reputation. The price attribute is into price reasonability, price value, price economy, and price information. 2. The product attribute is different, by national and non-brands, in wearability, labeling of size and quality, brand expression-harmony, textile-suitability, manageability. The shop attribute had a significant difference in environment of shop and its reputation, and the price attribute had one only in price economy. 3. The brand attitude was affected by wearability, aesthetic expression, shop environment, price value, and price information. 4. Also, there exists a difference by demographic variables(age, job, academic background, marriage, income level) in brand attitude. For example, national brands have its consumers with the following variables: higher education, higher income, professional job, over 20s, and married.

소비자의 글로벌 마인드와 글로벌 패션 브랜드의 옥외 광고에 대한 호의도가 브랜드 평가에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Consumer Global-Mindedness and Global Fashion Brand Out-Of-Home Advertising on Brand Evaluation)

  • This study was conducted to investigate how consumer global-mindedness affects global fashion out-of-home (OOH) advertising which global consumer culture positioning applies, and to examine the relations among global fashion brand OOH advertising, perceived fashion brand globalness, perceived quality and brand reputation. Data were collected from 238 general people in 20~30s in seoul and were analyzed by using statistic methods such as frequency analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural d modelling by running both SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 7.0 program. The results of this study were as follows. First of all, it indicated that the fit indexes were satisfied and the overall model of this study showed a favorable goodness of it from the results of confirmatory analysis. Secondly, consumer global-mindedness had a positive impact on preference towards global fashion OOH advertising. Finally, preference towards global fashion brand OOH advertising positively affected perceived fashion brand globalness, perceived quality and fashion brand reputation. The results implies that it is necessary that fashion brands fully understand consumers' tendency and the benefits of marketing can be maximized through global positioning OOH advertising on subways which makes consumers recognize fashion brands as global ones.
