  • This study is to verify the effect of similarity of expanded-product, brand concepts of parent-brands and implicit theory of customers on the brand-extension evaluation, in order to reduce the risk of brand extension. First, this research documents how the similarity between the parent-brands and expanded-products affect brand-extension evaluations as a main effect variable. Second, this study examines the moderating effect of the brand concepts of parent-brands on the brand-extension evaluation. Third, this research documents how implicit theories regarding personality affect consumer evaluations about the brand-extension. The study assumes and tests that consumers in the group of incremental theorists are more accepting of brand-extensions than consumers in the group of entity theorists. The result figures out the implicit theory customers has some moderating effect on the evaluations, yet the direction of the effects is contrary to expectations.

  • Purpose: Early morning delivery markets have grown exponentially in the last few years. This study aims to verify the effects of brand experience factors and brand personality factors of Market Kurly, a representative early morning delivery brand, on brand attachment and brand loyalty. Research design, data, and methodology: For this purpose, 204 ordinary people in their 20s and 40s who have experience in using Market Kurly were surveyed. 7 hypotheses were verified by using hierarchical regression analysis. Results: Affective experience, intellectual experience, and behavioral experience among brand experience factors had a positive effect on brand attachment. Also, brand personality-self-image congruence and brand personality-human brand congruence as brand personality factors had a positive effect on brand attachment. The brand attachment was identified as an important preceding factor to explain the brand loyalty of Market Kurly. Conclusions: When applying brand experience factors to the early morning delivery service context, each brand experience factor affected brand attachment and brand loyalty. The scope of research on brand personality-self-image congruence was expanded in that it considered both brand personality-human brand congruence and brand personality-self-image congruence. This study provides academic and practical implications by revealing that brand experience factors and brand personality factors can positively affect brand attachment and brand loyalty.

  • The present study analyzed the effects of brand extension on the existing parent brand by applying the media brand extension model which previous studies had suggested based on consumer based brand equity model. Based on previous studies, the present study constructed a research model in which pre-brand extension parent brand evaluation, brand portfolio quality variance, perceived number of brand extensions, perceived fit between parent brand and brand extended channel, and brand extended channel evaluation are supposed to affect post-brand extension brand extension evaluation, and tested the media brand extension feedback effects model through structural equation modeling. The analysis results show that pre-brand extension parent brand evaluation, brand portfolio quality variance, perceived fit, and brand extended channel evaluation affect post-brand extension parent brand evaluation while the effect of perceived number of brand extensions is not significant.

  • Purpose: Along with the trend increasing dining-out and enjoying variety of menu, dessert café has been introduced as a new type of food service provider and grown up rapidly. We need to verify structural relationship that dessert café environment influences overall quality and brand image and loyalty. Research design, data, and methodology: This study seeks to understand how in-café environment influence overall quality, brand image and loyalty directly and indirectly based on SOR theory. We examine detail effect of in-café environment on overall quality and brand image and subsequently loyalty. Sample data were collected from 563 online survey panels and analyzed by using SmartPLS 3.2.9. Result: The results indicates that all sub-dimensions of in-café environment influences positively overall quality. While, menu and atmosphere make positive impact on brand image. price, food and beverage quality, employee service do not affect significantly brand image. Further, overall quality influences positively brand image and both overall quality and brand image affect positively loyalty. In addition, overall quality plays full mediator role in relationship among price, food and beverage quality, employee service and brand image. Conclusions: Dessert café should differentiate itself from competitors through physical and non-physical environments which are likely to influence overall quality. As overall quality mediates between environment and brand image and influences loyalty, dessert café is required to communicate strength of functional quality and service quality aggressively. Additionally, favorable brand image affecting loyalty is required to be dominated in advance as the market is likely to be segmented along with its growth.

  • This study is about the effect of original brand on the evaluation of extended brand in the policy of an enterprise's extending its brand. More specifically, this study investigated to see whether the customers' attitude toward original brand has effect on an extended brand and the width and similarity extent of the brand extension affect a brand which is not similar when another brand is extended. The summary of the demonstrative analysis results are as follows: 1. If the attitude toward original brand becomes more positive, the evaluation of the extended brand will become more positive as well. 2. If the attitude toward original brand becomes more positive, the width of a brand extension will become wider. 3. If customers' attitude toward a original brand is positive, their attitude toward an extended brand will be positive as well although the extended brand is not similar to the original brand. This study proved it is possible for brands to be extended from a original brand under the influence of the original brand even though they are weak in their similarity to their original brand unlike the existing theory which was skeptical about the extension of a brand which is low in its similarity to its original brand and that the success of the extension of a brand does not depend upon its similarity to its original brand.

  • Based on marketing theories of brand and corporate association, and the social psychological theory of identity, the effects of the corporate brand on individual brand loyalty were established via two major routes. The empirical study is based on the response of 330 subjects who participated in a field survey. In the statistical analysis, Correlation Analysis, Factor Analysis, Sequential Equation Model Analysis were used for verification. The corporate association affected the formation of individual brand loyalty both the product level and corporate level. Specifically, the two types of brand response did differ in terms of their strength on brand loyalty. The present study contributes to the academic literature in that it disentangles the construct of the corporate brand from that of the individual brand and investigates the structural relations between the two.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural equation model showing the path between BRQ and brand performance. The subjects were women in their 20s to 40s living in Seoul and other metropolitan areas. 482 copies of questionnaire were analyzed by reliability, Pearson's correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis using SPSS 11.0 Package and AMOS 5.0 Package. The results showed that BRQ had positive influence on the brand performance-brand satisfaction, brand attitude, brand loyalty. As for the total effect about brand loyalty, BRQ was the most influential variable compared with other variables- brand satisfaction, brand attitude. The indirect impact of BRQ on brand loyalty is bigger than the direct impact of BRQ and brand satisfaction emerged as the important intermediate variable between BRQ and brand loyalty. Therefore, effective marketing strategy can be accomplished according to differential impact of the BRQ facets to induce consumer's satisfaction, which can lead to brand loyalty.
