The asynchronous design methods proved to have the higher performance in power consumption and execution speed than synchronous ones because it just needs to activate the required module without feeding clock in the system. Despite the advantage of CISC machine providing the variable addressing modes and instructions, its execution scheme is hardly suited for a synchronous Pipeline architecture and incurs a lot of overhead. This paper proposes a novel asynchronous pipeline architecture, A80sl, whose instruction set is fully compatible with that of Intel 80C51, an embedded micro controller. We classify the instructions into the group keeping the same execution scheme for the asynchronous pipeline and optimize it eliminating the bubble stage that comes from the overhead of the multi-cycle execution. The new methodologies for branch and various instruction lengths are suggested to minimize the number of states required for instructions execution and to increase its parallelism. The proposed A80C51 architecture is synthesized with 0.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS standard cell library. The simulation results show higher speed than that of Intel 80C51 with 36 MHz and other asynchronous counterparts by 24 times.
In order to improve the efficiency of the main economic traits in layers the present selection index is based on body weight, age at first egg, egg production and egg weight. But as the edible parts of the egg, the yolk and the albumin, are very important economic traits, this study was conducted to estimate the selection indices combining the latter traits with the former traits, and to examine the accuracy of the indices. The experiment were 351 Single Comb White Leghorns(S. C. W. Leghorn) and 326 Rhode Island Reds (R. I. Red), improved by the closed flock breeding system at the Daejeon Branch Station of the National Livestock Breeding Station. The egg compositions were checked a total of 6097 eggs. The data for each traits were collected and analysed until 500 days of age from March 1, 1979.
In order to overcome the difficulties of quantitative risk analysis such as complexity of model, we propose a systematic methodology for risk quantification of railway system which consists of 6 steps: The identification of risk factors, the determination of major scenarios for each risk factor by using event tree, the development of supplementary fault trees for evaluating branch probabilities, the evaluation of event probabilities, the quantification of risk, and the analysis in consideration of accident situation. In this study, in order to address the feasibility of the propose methodology, this framework is applied to the prototype risk model of nation-wide railway level crossings. And the quantification result based on the data of 2005 in Korea will also be presented.

This study focuses on the formation of input release lots in a semiconductor wafer fabrication facility. After the order-lot pegging process assigns lots in the fab to orders and calculates the required quantity of wafers for each product type to meet customers' orders, the decisions on the formation of input release lots should be made to minimize the production costs of the release lots. Since the number of lots being processed in the wafer fab directly is related to the productivity of the wafer fab, the input lot formation is crucial process to reduce the production costs as well as to improve the efficiency of the wafer fab. Here, the input lot formation occurs before every shift begins in the semiconductor wafer fab. When input quantities (of wafers) for product types are given from results of the order-lot pegging process, lots to be released into the wafer fab should be formed satisfying the lot size requirements. Here, the production cost of a homogeneous lot of the same type of product is less than that of a heterogeneous lot that will be split into the number of lots according to their product types after passing the branch point during the wafer fabrication process. Also, more production cost occurs if a lot becomes more heterogeneous. We developed a multi-dimensional dynamic programming algorithm for the input lot formation problem and showed how to apply the algorithm to solve the problem optimally with an example problem instance. It is necessary to reduce the number of states at each stage in the DP algorithm for practical use. Also, we can apply the proposed DP algorithm together with lot release rules such as CONWIP and UNIFORM.
Ir-192 radiation sealed sources are widely employed to the therapeutic applications as well as the non-destructive testing. Production of Ir-192 sources requires a delicate but robust welding technique because it is employed in a high radioactive working environment. A GTA(Gas Tungsten Arc) welding technique is currently well established for this purpose. However, this welding method requires a frequent replacement of the electrode, which results in the delay of the production to take a preparatory action such as to isolate the radiation sources from the working place before getting access to the welding machine. Hence, a resistance welding technique is considered as an alternative method of the GTA welding technique. The advantages of resistance welding are high welding speed and high-rate production. Also it has very long life of electrode comparing to GTA welding. In this study, the resistance welding system and proper welding conditions were established for sealing Ir-192 source capsule. As a results of various experiments, it showed that electrode displacement can be employed as a indicator to predict welding quality. We proposed two mathematical models(linear and curvilinear) to estimate electrode displacement with process parameters such as applied force, welding current and welding time by using regression analysis method. Predicting results of both linear and curvilinear model were relatively good agreement with experiment.
Surveys were carried out from April to December of 2003 to collect the information on hypertension patients for the detailed analysis. Totally, 1,423 patients, who have been registered to the public health center or its branch located in a small city with both urban and countryside characteristics in Kyungsangbuk-Do area, were the subjects of this investigation. The purpose of this research was to examine the health situation of the hypertension patients and to understand the official state of their management program and their own efforts to control the blood pressure, so that we could develop the better program to protect the patients more efficiently and systematically. Eventual purpose was to provide the patients at high risk with the essential informations to prevent the onset of the disease and to promote their health conditions by early diagnosis. Most patients, registered to the public health center, were relatively obedient to the prescription, however, the incidence of being checked up regularly was low. It was turned out that the patients showed a low tendency to practice to maintain the healthy life style such as the proper eating habit or the effort to control the stress. So. it is necessary to develop the strategy and the management program to enhance the self-nursing activities to control the patients' blood pressure at the proper level. In addition, multidisciplinary approaches should to be done for efficient and effective care for hypertension patients. Finally, systematic management of hypertension patients is required to classify the duty and role for caring patients among those health care system.

In this paper, an adaptive RSSD(reduced-state sequence detection) receiver is proposed for the purpose of reducing the complexity and decision delay of the adaptive MLSD(maximum-likelihood sequence detection) receiver in the mobile satellite channel. The RSSD receiver reconstructs the trellis with a reduced number of states. The performance degradation due to the reduced states is compensated by modifying the branch metric calculation which uses the symbols in each path memory to estimate the residual ISI(intersymbol interference) terms. The structure of the proposed adaptive RSSD is a modified RSSD utilizing a per-survivor processing as well as the symbol-aided method and a channel estimation using the tentative data sequences. The complexity and performance of the proposed adaptive RSSD are controlled by the number of system states and ISI cancelers and the inserting period of the known symbols. In spite of a suboptimal alternative receiver compared to the adaptive MLSD receiver, the proposed adaptive RSSD receiver is able to reduce the complexity significantly and track the time-varying channel fast and reliably.
As a nondestructive testing method, the Schmidt rebound hammer is widely used for structural health monitoring. During application, a Schmidt hammer hits the surface of a concrete mass. According to the principle of rebound, concrete strength depends on the hardness of the concrete energy surface. Study aims to identify the main variables affecting the results of Schmidt rebound hammer reading and consequently the results of structural health monitoring of concrete structures using adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The ANFIS process for variable selection was applied for this purpose. This procedure comprises some methods that determine a subsection of the entire set of detailed factors, which present analytical capability. ANFIS was applied to complete a flexible search. Afterward, this method was applied to conclude how the five main factors (namely, age, silica fume, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and water) used in designing concrete mixture influence the Schmidt rebound hammer reading and consequently the structural health monitoring accuracy. Results show that water is considered the most significant parameter of the Schmidt rebound hammer reading. The details of this study are discussed thoroughly.
Background: There is a large amount of evidence that the ABO blood group system may play a role in disease etiology. A relationship between ABO and Rhesus blood groups and cancer risk has been demonstrated in a number of studies. However, in relation to gynecological malignancies, these findings are inconsistent and contradictory. Aim: To perform a case-control study for analysis of the distribution of ABO and Rh blood antigens among women from South-East Siberia who suffered from ovarian, endometrial and cervical cancer, and to assess the potential role of these antigens in carcinogenesis. Design, Subjects and Methods: A total of 1,163 cases with ovarian cancer (n=551), endometrial cancer (n=440) and cervical cancer (n=172) were involved in the study. The control group was formed from 22,581 female blood donors. Blood groups were determined through patients medical records and blood donor records. Odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated. The blood group O was defined as the referent group, as it has the greatest frequency in the populations of Southern Siberia. P values less than 0.05 were regarded as statistically significant. Results: We found that carriage of non-O blood types increased the risk of ovarian cancer by 40-60%, and the magnitude of this relationship was strongest in women with the AB (IV) blood group. Carriage of the A (II) blood group strongly correlated with an increased risk of ovarian cancer in premenopausal, but not in postmenopausal women. No statistically significant correlations were obtained for endometrial cancer and cervical cancer. Additionally, we did not observe a relationship between Rhesus factor and cancer risk. Conclusion: We suggest that carriage of non-O blood groups may elevate risk of ovarian cancer and can play a role in its development.
In order to study the similarities and differences of user experience of contactless retail services between Chinese and Korean users, this study focuses on E-mart 24 Self Convenience Store Gimpo DC Branch, Conducted in-depth interviews with Chinese and Korean users who have experience. The interviews are based on the 7 principles of Peter Morville's Honeycomb Model. As a result, the satisfaction of Chinese users is higher than that of Korean users. Human touch, and the desire for a faster society made Korean users more resistant to E-mart 24 Self Convenience Store. Chinese users raised concerns about the inconvenience of the system with little consideration for foreign users. It is expected that this study will help E-mart 24 Self Convenience Store to satisfy users from more cultural backgrounds.
