차량 제동 성능 해석 프로그램 개발 (Development of Automotive Braking Performance Analysis Program Considering Dynamic Characteristic)

  • Analysis of brake characteristics has progressed rapidly in recent years, as computer techniques have developed. However, there are many problems in predicting braking characteristics, due to the numerous design variables of the brake system. Therefore, a synthetic braking performance analysis is required for all brake system parts such as master cylinder, booster, control valve and split system. In this paper, a program which can analyze braking performance such as force distribution, braking efficiency, pedal force and pedal travel, is presented. The preprocessor of the program helps users prepare input files through a dialog box. An additional postprocessor makes the graph presentation of solved results. Also, a simple example problem is applied to show the usefulness of the presented program.

  • Braking performance of a trainset that consists of a locomotive and several coaches and/or wagons is influenced by that of the locomotive as well as each coach or wagon. For trains to safely travel on a railway, trains must be provided with sufficient distance where to stop. Thus, replacing coaches or wagons needs calculating, measuring the braking performance such as a stopping distance or a deceleration. The task is further complicated if there are many kinds of trains with different braking performance characteristics. The accurate calculation is subject to acquire accurate information on the existing cars. Moreover, the initiation of braking by a driver or the geometry of the track affects as complicated factors. In this paper, based on the braking performance test conducted for US-SCRRA coaches, introduced several factors assumed to influence the result and the compensating methodology.

  • Results of the experimental research are described in this thesis, which are about braking characteristics of aircraft ABS brake system with different ground conditions. Dynamo-tests were conducted with the state of the application aircraft condition and with two different ground conditions. The Braking characteristics on each ground condition were drawn from the results of occurrence of skid, braking distance and deceleration. The braking performance of the application aircraft could be anticipated and the efficient range of braking operation could be set with those results.

  • This paper presents a mathematical vehicle model to analyze the dynamic characteristics of a vehicle undergoing braking in a turn. Two kinds of field tests, braking in a steady state turn and braking in a J-turn are performed. Computer simulation results are compared with test results and the braking effect on a vehicle cornering behavior is examined. Also, sensitivity analysis is applied to determine the effect of design parameter changes on the response of vehicle dynamic system.

고속전철 제동시스템의 HILS (HILS of the Braking System of a High Speed Train)

  • Korea High Speed Train(KHST) is supposed to run up 350km/h, in which the braking system has a crucial role for the safety of the train. In the design st데 of the braking system, its very hard to ac-quire information data for design guidelines. A HILS(Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation) system can be used to get design data which could simulate the braking system of the real train in real-time. In this paper, cars are modelled including car dynamics, brake blending algorithms, pneumatic actuator dynamics, the models of each braking devices, adhesive coefficients, and soon. Real-time braking time, distance, and other design parameters are simulated using a DSP board and C language which shows the validity of the proposed method.

  • ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) is a safety device for preventing wheel locking in a sudden braking. It consists of hydraulic modulator, ECU(Electronic Control Unit) and angular velocity sensors. Its control methods are classified into three types; deceleration control, slip ratio control and deceleration/acceleration control. In this paper, ABS mounted vehicle is mathematically modeled and the proposed model is verified by actual cars experiments, and the braking characteristics of the control methods with pulse width modulation are compared and analyzed through computer simulations.

  • This paper presents a new power flow method to analyze the AC electric railway system effectively in both cases of traction and regenerative braking of the trains. The algorithm to easily solve the power flow of the AC electric railway system with the trains of regenerative braking from the system without a train of regenerative braking is derived. Using this new power flow method, the voltage characteristics of a typical AC electric railway system is easily analyzed in both cases of traction and regenerative braking of the trains. We show that the presented method can be applied effectively in order to analyze the AT-fed AC electric railway system in both cases of traction and regenerative braking of the trains. A STATCOM(Static Synchronous Compensator) is applied to the system in order to improve the voltage drop problem and this case is also analyzed to show the effect of STATCOM.

  • Study of an accurate and robust braking control method is required as a technical improvement to the servo system. In particular, the braker exhibiting constant braking performance under speed variation conditions of the prime mover needs to be investigated. In this paper, the braking torque of the eddy current braker between the electromagnet stator and rotating disk is analyzed. The torque-speed characteristics and accurate disk construction are represented. From the computer simulation results, it was found that eddy current braking torque is linear or approximately constant over the desired speed range depending on the rotor material, disk construction, pole number and pole displacement of the stator. These relations are confirmed by experimental results.

  • To start or stop the train safely within the limited traveling distance, it is necessary to guarantee the proper traction or braking force. Presently, most trains are run by the electrical power and have adopted a combined electrical and mechanical(friction) braking system. In order to design a good traction or a brake system, it is essential for designers to predict the traction or brake performance. In this paper, the traction/coasting/braking performances analysis program has been developed and verified by comparing the simulation results with on-line test results of the Korean high speed train(HSR-350); Both results match very well. Consequently, the designers can predict the traction/coasting/braking performances of trains by using the proposed program under various operating conditions.

  • Anti-lock Braking System(ABS) is a device which prevents the wheels form locked up under emergency braking of a vehicle. So it helps the vehicle to maintain the steerability and shortens the braking distance by maintaining optimal frictional force during braking since the tire road slip is controlled in acceptable range. Recently, ABS is accepted as a standard equipment in vehicles, especially in commercial vehicles(bus and trucks). Commercial vehicles don´t use hydraulic lines but use pneumatic lines for braking system mostly.
