Visualizing a volume dataset with ray-casting which of visualization methods provides high quality image. However it spends too much time for rendering because the size of volume data are huge. Recently, various researches have been proposed to accelerate GPU-based volume rendering to solve these problems. In this paper, we propose an efficient GPU-based empty space skipping to accelerate volume ray-casting using octree traversal. This method creates min-max octree and searches empty space using vertex splitting. It minimizes the bounding polyhedron by eliminating empty space found in the octree traveral step. The rendering results of our method are identical to those of previous GPU-based volume ray-casting, with the advantage of faster run-time because of using minimized bounding polyhedron.
We present solar event auto detection using deep-learning-based object detection algorithms and DeepSDO event dataset. DeepSDO event dataset is a new detection dataset with bounding boxed as ground-truth for three solar event (coronal holes, sunspots and prominences) features using Solar Dynamics Observatory data. To access the reliability of DeepSDO event dataset, we compared to HEK data. We train two representative object detection models, the Single Shot MultiBox Detector (SSD) and the Faster Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (R-CNN) with DeepSDO event dataset. We compared the performance of the two models for three solar events and this study demonstrates that deep learning-based object detection can successfully detect multiple types of solar events. In addition, we provide DeepSDO event dataset for further achievements event detection in solar physics.
In this paper, the purpose is to create a standard of AI training dataset type for commercial space design. As the market size of the field of space design continues to increase and the time spent increases indoors after COVID-19, interest in space is expanding throughout society. In addition, more and more consumers are getting used to the digital environment. Therefore, If you identify trends and preemptively propose the atmosphere and specifications that customers require quickly and easily, you can increase customer trust and conduct effective sales. As for the data set type, commercial districts were divided into a total of 8 categories, and images that could be processed were derived by refining 4,009,30MB JPG format images collected through web crawling. Then, by performing bounding and labeling operations, we developed a 'Dataset for AI Training' of 3,356 commercial space image data in CSV format with a size of 2.08MB. Through this study, elements of spatial images such as place type, space classification, and furniture can be extracted and used when developing AI algorithms, and it is expected that images requested by clients can be easily and quickly collected through spatial image input information.

With the recent development of wireless network technologies, there have been increasing usage of variouse position base servies. Position based services basically collect position information of moving object for the utilization of them in real life. Accordingly, new index structures are required to efficiently retrieve the consecutive positions of moving objects. In the paper, we consider volume of Extended Minimum Bounding Rectangles(EMBR) to be determined by average size of range queries. We proposed the methode that split efficiently moving object with long distance between location, and split moving object for decrease searching space an Estimated-Split algorithm that minimizes the volume of MBRs is designed and simulated. Our experimental evaluation confirms the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed splitting policy.
Several empty-space leaping methods have been proposed for CPU-based volume ray casting. When sample points are located in semi-transparent cells, however, previous leaping methods perform unnecessary resamplings even if the scalar values on those points are confined within transparent range. A semi-transparent cells leaping method for volume ray casting using the Marching Cubes algorithm is proposed to solve this problem in our previous work. When a ray reaches a semi-transparent cell, our method performs in-out test between current sample point and the bounding box enclosing the triangles generated by the Marching Cubes. If the sample point lies on outside of the bounding box, we estimate the point is regarded as transparent. In this case, the ray advances to the next sample point without performing a resampling operation. We can frequently refer the tables for neighboring voxels, however, when we exploit conventional data structures of the Marching Cubes. We propose modified Marching Cubes tables for solving this problem.
Recently, AR applications provide location-based spatial information by GPS. Also, the spatial information is displayed by the angle of the camera. So far, traditional spatial indexes in spatial database field retrieve and filter spatial information by the minimum bounding rectangle (MBR) algorithm.(ex. R-tree) MBR strategy is a useful technique in the geographic information systems and location based services. But MBR technique doesn't reflect the characteristics of spatial queries in AR. Spatial queries of AR applications have high possibility of the dead space area between MBRs of non-leaf node and query area. We propose triangle node filtering algorithm that improved efficiency of spatial retrieval used the triangle node filtering techniques by exclusion the dead space. In this paper, the proposed algorithm has been implemented on PostgreSQL/PostGIS. Experimental results show the spatial retrieval that using the proposed algorithm better performance than the spatial retrieval that of the minimum bounding rectangle algorithm.

This paper presents a new framework of kinematic tolerance synthesis and describes the implemented algorithm for planar mechanical systems comprised of higher kinematic pairs. Input to the synthesis algorithm is a parametric model of the mechanical system with allowed parameter ranges (tolerance ranges). The model is specified as the part profiles consisting of line and arc segments and the motion axes along which each part moves. The algorithm analyzes tolerance in generalized configuration space, called contact zones bounding the worst-case variations, and identifies bad system variations. The bad system variations then are removed out of the parameter ranges by adjusting the nominal parameter values if possible and then shrinking the ranges otherwise. This cycle is repeated until no more bad variations we found. I show the effectiveness of the algorithm by case studies on several mechanisms.

In this paper a novel robust adaptive fuzzy controller for the nonlinear system with state-dependent uncertainty is proposed. The conventional adaptive fuzzy controller determines the function of state variable bounding the state-dependent uncertain term in the system dynamics on the local state space by off-line calculation. Whereas the proposed method determines that function by the fuzzy inference so that it guarantees the stability of the closed loop system globally on the whole state space. In addition, the method is applicable to the multi-input system. We applied the proposed method to the Burn Control of the Tokamak fusion reactor whose dynamics contains the state-dependent uncertainty and proved the effectiveness of the scheme by using the simulation results.
The effect of relaxation times is studied on plane waves propagating through semiconductor half-space medium by using the eigen value approach. The bounding surface of the half-space is subjected to a heat flux with an exponentially decaying pulse and taken to be traction free. Solution of the field variables are obtained in the form of series for a general semiconductor medium. For numerical values, Silicon is considered as a semiconducting material. The results are represented graphically to assess the influences of the thermal relaxations times on the plasma, thermal, and elastic waves.

Recently, with the advance of wireless internet and the frequent use of mobile devices, demand for LBS(Location Based Service) is increasing, and research is required on spatial indexes for the storage and maintenance of spatial data to provide efficient LBS in mobile device environments. In addition, the use of flash memory as an auxiliary storage device is increasing in order to store large spatial data in a mobile terminal with small storage space. However, the application of existing spatial indexes to flash-memory lowers index performance due to the frequent updates of nodes. To solve this problem, research is being conducted on flash-memory based spatial indexes, but the efficiency of such spatial indexes is lowered by low utilization of buffer and flash-memory space. Accordingly, in order to solve problems in existing flash-memory based spatial indexes, this paper proposed FR-Tree (Flash-Memory based R-Tree) that uses the node compression technique and the delayed write operation technique. The node compression technique of FR-Tree increased the utilization of flash-memory space by compressing MBR(Minimum Bounding Rectangle) of spatial data using relative coordinates and MBR size. And, the delayed write operation technique reduced the number of write operations in flash memory by storing spatial data in the buffer temporarily and reflecting them in flash memory at once instead of reflecting the insert, update and delete of spatial data in flash-memory for each operation. Especially, the utilization of buffer space was enhanced by preventing the redundant storage of the same spatial data in the buffer. Finally, we perform ed various performance evaluations and proved the superiority of FR-Tree to the existing spatial indexes.
