  • This study focuses on the shape of the bottle, the Chinese Qing Dynasty porcelain decoration. Consideration given to understand the basic form of the catheter, and the basic division. To study the binding form to the principles of the design work to prepare a lacquer on the basis of the results obtained here. When classified by type illness Qing Dynasty porcelain decorative porcelain six types, semi-porcelain could be classified into five types. Production form to pursue work in this study design is produced in the form of asymmetrical vases object type curve. These bottles of Qing Dynasty porcelain for decoration. Expression Types and Aesthetic Characteristics of Fashion in Coca-Cola Bottle (코카콜라 병에 표현된 패션의 표현 유형과 미적 특성)

  • This study considers types of expression and examines aesthetic characteristics through analyzing designs (such as the Coca-Cola contour bottle as fashion) which has actively progressed in the collaboration of fashion designers and fashion brands. The conclusions of this study are as follows. The types of fashion expression on the Coca-Cola contour bottle are a presentation of diverse fashion images through a digital print expression that allow people-friendly images to be three-dimensional (or by adding a formative element) and the use of accessories or clothes. The symbolism characteristic were first indicated for the aesthetic characteristics on the Coca-Cola contour bottle. Symbolism is indicated through the identification of an implicit meaning towards a specific object. The symbolism of fashion was highlighted by designing the Coca-Cola's contour bottle with a typical material and pattern pursued by fashion designers and fashion brands. Second, the characteristic of playfulness was presented to expresses the instinctive desire in human nature for pleasure. The expression of visual playfulness is emphasized through the combination of item and image or by changing and re-analyzing a form through refuting stereotypes. Third, the characteristic of femininity was shown to express beauty in external image or a woman's delicate and soft inner propensity. Femininity was created by presenting a sensual femininity that recognized the voluminous curve silhouette of the Coca-Cola bottle such as a sexy female body or through the combination of a women's inner beauty with the sensory image of the object.

Root Rot of Bottle Gourd Stock of Watermelon Caused by Monosporascus cannonballus in Korea (수박 대목용 참박에 발생한 Monosporascus cannonballus에 의한 검은점뿌리썩음병(黑点根腐病))

  • The fungal pathogen Monosporascus annonballus was first isolated in Korea from the rotted roots of bottle gourd stocks of collapsed watermelon plants in fields near Chochiwon, Choongnam province in July, 1993. Perithecia of M. cannonballus were dark brown to black, globose, 220~570 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in diam. and had many asci. Asci are hyaline, clavate to pyriform, and 50~120$\times$35~570 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in size. Ascospores were aseptate, dark brown to black, globose, 25~45$\times$30~50 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in diam, and borne singly in each ascus. The fungus grew in the temperature range of 4 to 34$^{\circ}C$, best at 3$0^{\circ}C$. The optimum pH for growth was 6.8. Mycelial growth rate of M. cannonballus was 25.5mm/day on PDA at 26$^{\circ}C$. Perithecia began to form after 20-day-growth on PDA and produced mature asci after 30 days or later. In the greenhouse inoculation tests, the fungus developed water-soaked lesions on roots of bottle gourd seedlings and was then reisolated from the lesions. Severed damages on watermelon plants by M. cannonballus are greatly concerned in Korea, since no stocks used for watermelon cultivation have reported to be resistant to the fungus.

  • Since the active center of digestive enzymetic preparations, while under storage, lose their activity and potency by the exposure to moisture, colorization, solidifying and other physical changes. It is more important than beautiful package form that protected packaging form from moisture to get a pharmaceutical safety preparations and to maintain a definite potency. Then, in order to get a desirable conditions of storage and packaging, we used shellac and $AEA^{\circledR}$ as a coating base, and blister package, foil and bottle container as a packaging material. Temperature were set on room temperature and $37^{\circ}C$, moisture was adjusted to 40% RH and 80 % RH as a accelerated conditions. Accelerated test was carried out 6 times. The results are as follows: 1) The effect of packaging conditions give great influence on the maintenace of the stable potency. 2) Best result was produced with bottle container package. 3) $AEA^{\circledR}$ is more useful than shellac as a coating base of prevention from moisture. 4) Absorption of moisture gave considerable effects on potency and it has a limited point. 5) Difference in potency between optimal and worst condition is 472 u/2T, and difference in effective period is about 44 months.

  • Today's liquor culture in Korea is basically divided into a general liquor culture and a functional liquor culture. In particular, the market of the latter has been going through a rapid change. In the previous days, it was a crop for a special purpose or a fruit which was mostly used to make liquor but now, many other regular crops are being used in the liquor market. At present, while the demand for Makgeolli has risen sharply, the designs of Makgeolli bottles have never satisfied needs from consumers nor the trends in the consumer market. As a result, Makgeolli industry should come up with new designs for the bottles immediately if it dose not want to lose in a competition with other liquor products. The study has looked into existing designs of Makgeolli bottles, investigating how the designs have changed over the past years and how competitive they are in the market. Based on results from the investigation, the study focuses on finding out designs which would fit the trends in the consumer market to develop Makgolli bottles which would be equipped with both functionality and practicality. In other words, to make Makgeolli survive in these rapid changes in the liquor market, the study works on offering a Makgeolli bottle design which is appropriate for certain characteristics of Makeolli and also competitive over other liquor bottles.

Mycelial and cultural characteristics of a new high-yield Pleurotus pulmonarius cultivar 'Santari' for bottle culture (다수성 병재배용 산느타리 신품종 '산타리'의 균사배양 및 생육특성)

  • Oyster mushrooms are one of the most popular edible mushrooms in Korea. The 'Santari' cultivar bred in this study, which belongs to the species Pleurotus pulmonarius, is a new oyster mushroom cultivar for bottle culture. It was bred by mating monokaryons isolated from 'GMPO20404' and 'Hosan'. The optimum temperature for 'Santari' mycelial growth was $26-29^{\circ}C$ on PDA medium, and the temperatures for primordium formation and for growth of the fruit body on sawdust medium were $22^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$, respectively. It took 34 days to complete the spawn run, 3 days to form primordia, and 3 days to finish fruit body growth in the bottle culture. The fruit body pilei were round in shape and brownish, whereas the stipes were long, thick, and white. The yield per bottle of 'Santari' was 172 g/1,100 mL, which was 43% higher than that of the reference cultivar ('Hosan'). The springiness, cohesiveness, gumminess, and brittleness of the stipe tissue were 87%, 82%, 193 g, and 16 kg, respectively. These physical property values of 'Santari' were lower than those of the control cultivar, except for the cohesiveness.

Investigation on Artificial Fruiting of Cordyceps militaris (번데기동충하초의 자실체 형성에 관한 연구)

  • The isolates of Cordyceps militaris preserved in EFCC, Kangwon National University were investigated to form the fruiting bodies under artificial conditions. The fruiting bodies were observed to be better in the 1l polyethylene bottle containing $60{\sim}80\;gm$ of brown rice and $100{\sim}110\;ml$ of water. Addition of $10{\sim}20\;gm$ of pupae per bottle showed higher fruiting. Similarly, addition of sucrose, peptone or hemoglobin also had favorable effect on fruiting. $25^{\circ}C\;and\;20^{\circ}C$ were favorable for mycelial growth and fruiting respectively. Light intensity of 500 lux and 12 h of light/dark period produced highest amount of fruit bodies.

Mutagenesis of of Hypsizygus marmoreus by Gamma Ray Irradiation (감마방사선 조사에 의한 느티만가닥버섯의 변이)

  • This study was performed to develop new Hypsizygus marmoreus cultivars that have enhanced functional materials and improved physiological characteristics with mutagenesis by gamma ray irradiation. Protoplasts of H. marmoreus brown strain HYM-056 were irradiated by gamma ray for mutagenesis, and then 2,000 clones of mutants were randomly selected and the fruiting bodies were induced by bottle culture. Among them, 157 isolates with fast-growing, heavy and many fruiting body-producing were selected. The isolates were cultured in plastic bottle containing rice bran, barley hulls and fir sawdust to form the fruiting bodies. About 100 days after inoculation, characteristic of fruiting bodies were investigated. The isolates were divided into 6 groups based on color, shape and size of pileus, and length, diameter, number and weight of stipe. In addition, the genetic variation of the isolates was analyzed by URP-PCR fingerprinting.

Drug Bottle Delivery Robot Capable of Smartphone-Based Control and Image Process and Combining Wheel and Quadruped (스마트폰 제어 및 영상처리를 수행하는 바퀴와 4족을 결합한 약병 전송 로봇)

  • Robot control and image processing using a smartphone and Wi-Fi communication is introduced. The robot has a wheel and quadruped mechanism that is transformed according to the environment and is mainly used for drug bottle delivery. The captured image on the camera is transmitted to the smartphone in the form of stream data, and the image data is processed in the smartphone to enable the robot to identify an object and to control the robot itself. A network was constructed so that only image data from the stream data was used, and an image processing scheme to identify the drug bottle and deliver it to a person using a robot arm is also presented. In this study, image processing techniques and algorithms were purely implemented on a smartphone with considerable computational power and multiple functions rather than a computer, which contributes to the intelligence and miniaturization of the robot system.
